Science has taken almost all of the surprises out of life. Now this too?

...Why would it? :shifty

- Would this create more transgender people?
Some theories and studies show that transgendered people are born as one sex, in the body of another. In my opinion, this would increase the chance of the child being transgendered. Scientists would have to have an embryo in order to change or make the gender that is wanted, am I right? Gender is determined by the XX or XY chromosomes, so if you wanted to have a boy, (EDIT) but you have a female embryo instead, you would add the Y chromosome. At least, that's what I have read...

You would never have a female embryo.

How do you figure? The gender of a child is affected by the number of y chromosomes that "hit" the egg. If there are no y chromosomes that "hit" the egg, you have a girl.

Scientists would fertilize the egg with the correct x or y chromosome... it wouldn't be a girl, and then changed to a boy. It would always be a girl or always be a boy.

Maybe I'm confusing myself.. I'll re read the post the I put up.. I probably wasn't very clear on that.
Ahhhhh! See, I was confuzzled and I guess I had no idea what I was talking about. Sorry.. I feel stupid now. Pointless argument, I guess.

Not dumb, misinformed.(sp?)

- I'm dumb. Haha
Pretty much the same, here.
- Alexithymia.:
That would probaly be the only reason that would make me consider it. Otherwise, I think I would end up feeling some guilt over it.
- druscilla; numbers.:
- Some say yes, some say no.
I see the plus if you have a genetic disease that will be passed to a specific gender of child.
