About 2 years ago My parents got into a fight and I let it slip that I had a girlfriend.
My Mom got all "Just because your different does not mean you can Be difficult."
She's okay with it, her best friend is a Lesbian and such.
But over the years I think she forgot or thinks I was joking because she acts like it never happened and My Dad jokes about me being a Lesbian.
Any way if I wanted to tell them now that I was Bi I would have to include the fact that My girl friend lives 4 states away and I met her on GSB,
    lmfao

Im not gay or bi but I do think its wrong for parents to treat their own children like that. I believe that even if the parents don't like gays or lesbians they should still appect their own children. I feel sorry for all the kids that got abused and kicked out of homes because of it.

I'm bi. And for a long time both my mum and her partner thought I was gay, well I mean I did too, but never said anything. My mums partner is small minded, and sees being gay as wrong. He's one of those people that will say 'I'm not homophobic but . . . "etc. And if they were arguing he'd say something like 'At least my daughter's not a gay". My mums the same, its not like she doesnt like gay people or is homophobic, but doesnt like it. She found out I was bi and flipped, saying I was just confused, saying I did it for attention. She was basically telling me I wasn't bi, when I know I am, and so we never speak about it. Though she always had that look on her face when i talked about Lyn-Z or any other girls for that matter, but that just made me want to do it more lol.

I'm straight, so I've never had to deal with this.

Just imagining what would happen, though, if I ever told them I was bi/gay is not a pretty picture.
I see myself being slaughtered. O__o

My mum's a lesbian and I told her...she laughed at me. She told me to tell her again in a couple of years time because it might be a phase. I told her that I'm pretty sure it's not and she said she'd support me whether it was or not. I love my mama. Her girlfriend said the same. I love her too. :XD

My stepmum...well that was a different story. (She's married to my dad.) She thinks I'm ''copying'' my mum or something about learnt behaviour. She's not horrible about it but she brings that out when she's mad or something. -shrug- She asked me the other day if I had decided whether I like boys or girls...

    I said both. :cute:

I wanted to tell my mom I like girls but it was the most awkward conversation of my life, my parents are really nice and they're Christian but not the kind of people that use religion as an excuse to hate people, but my mom said it's a phase. So I'm weirdly impatient at the moment, just wanting time to pass so that I can be too old to be going through a phase.

Coming out to my mum would be easy - not that I have to, I haven't got a clue what I am right now.
But I don't think my mum would judge me if I was bisexual or a lesbian. - She said if I was a lesbian she'd be upset because she wants grandchildren, but that's it. Smiley

The rest of my family are a different story.
I don't think my grandparents would ever speak to me again.

My mom told me that she's okay with other people being gay but she would never want me to like girls. =/ Which...I do. My stepdad told me if he ever found out that I was bi/gay, he'd throw me out.
My grandparents would never speak to me again like ^ said. I've told my cousin James and he was like,"Okay..." but he didn't care either way. It's never been brought up again to be honest.

I casually told my whole family at dinner one day when my brother was bashing gay people.
After that, he never said anything in front of me.
But my family was accepting. They said it was alright to date anyone I want to as long as I tell them.

I'd never be able to tell my extended family. They are a bunch of homophobes and probably would tell me that I'm too young to know what I'm talking about.

    How my parents found out?
They walked in on my girlfriend and I kissing. And let's just say, it was getting pretty heated.

They're fine with it, though. My sister's a lesbian so they've seen the signs before and they told me they had a hunch, hahaha.

I don't get why it has to be a big deal?
I also don't get why 13 year olds would want to tell their parents they're bi?
At 13 I don't think you have a clue, come back when you're at least 16.
I just sorta said it to my mum in a casual concersation when I was 18.
    She doesn't care either way.

^ Did you tell her neither option guarantees either their presence or absence? (e.g. what if you wound up with a guy who didn't want kids, or what if you and a female partner decided to adopt or use a sperm donor? -- I'm assuming you do want kids, or are open to the possibility, since you didn't say otherwise; my apologies if that's not the case.)
