    Soo. Question.
If I had my period in the first week of december, and usually get it every five weeks (at a max of six weeks) and I still haven't had it and I had less than protected sex on dec 28, would a pregnancy test be accurate yet?

    Shifty
It should be, yeah. If you want to be extra sure, you can get First Response pregnancy tests which show your period up to a week before your first missed period. I took those a week before mine and it was only a week after conception but it still showed a positive (it was just ever so slightly faint). Just make sure you use first morning urine because that's when the pregnancy hormone is most concentrated. Sometimes they come in packs of two, so you can take one and then double check a week later.

On pregnancy test packs, they sometimes say how early they will detect pregnancy.

I've done a lot of research on stuff to do with pregnancy because I'm eight months pregnant, so if you do ever need any help feel free to PM me.

^The First response ones are accurate a week after conception, or a week before your expected period?

I'm going to take another one tomorrow... but it was negative last week, so shouldn't I have my period by now if it was accurate?

^ You probably know better than we do when your next period will be, but aren't girls sometimes late after a pregnancy scare even if they aren't pregnant? Give it a couple weeks probably, and if you're still not sure just go to the doctor and have them test you.

About a week before your expected period. How far into your pregnancy you are actually depends on your ovulation, not the date of conception (I just put that as an example of how fast they work). Because of this, they tend to estimate the date of your pregnancy by your period.

If you get two negative tests, you're probably not pregnant. It might just be that your period is late this month (maybe because you're stressed about it).

As was just said, if you have another negative test then give it another week or two and then go to the doctor if you're still worried.

Okay so, I'm new to tampons. Like I just starting using them today new.
Is it normal to feel it after putting it in? When I'm sitting or standing I don't notice it but if I'm moving I can feel it and it's slightly uncomfortable, and I'm just wondering if it's something you simply get used to or if I'm doing something wrong. Shifty
Also, what kind of tampons did you guys find most comfortable to use when you started using them?

well for me, i feel really uncomfortable unless i'm wearing the mini's Shifty at first I couldn't get it to like, fit properly, but after a few times you get used to it. try using the smaller ones and make sure you change it regularly and if it gets uncomfortable switch to a pad again for a little while Cute

The first time I used a tampon I could feel it and it was uncomfortable because I didn't get the angle right. You could also try taking it out and putting another one in. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get right at first.

I always use regular tampons because they're the ones we buy but as was said, try a few different sizes to find the right one for you and your flow. I find the Tampax Compak easiest (they have a little plastic applicator).

Weird what she said. Con the ones with the little plastic thing are actually (for me) a lot easier to put in than the carton ones. ;___; those are strange to put in. :D so I would recommend the ones she said. Con
Smiley and don't worry sweets, it takes a bit to get used to them. lmfao the first time I was at my friend's and I asked her to explain it to me and she just tossed the instruction pamphlet into the restroom and shut me in there until I figured it out. Smiley you can do it.

OMGYES thanks so much, all of you! You all definitely helped. I found a small one buried in my mom's drawer and I'm (well, as much as I can be I suppose XD) more comfortable about it. I'm gonna try and find some at the market tonight, too.
Thanks again. You guys are lifesavers. XD Arms Arms

Ugh, I'm having a light period... I haven't had to deal with using a tampon in so long, it sucks. I guess just taking out your nuvaring for a few hours can make that happen, though... Never again, haha.

Stupid question but...what are tampon applicators and how do they work? I've never seen one in any of my boxes or any of the different brands. :S I sound so dumb.

It's the piece of cardboard or plastic that's around the tampon when you unwrap it and that you press on the bottom of to "guide it in".

If you use o.b. there is no applicator. (I use o.b.)

Ready for real awkward story? XD

One month mine started a few days early while I was staying at my boyfriend's house. Luckily we weren't sleeping in the same room (it was after a wedding party, so loads of people were staying in his house) and I woke up in the morning and was like, omfg the bathroom is so far I won't make it... so I tried doing my thing in his bedroom and ended up getting all flustered and got some blood on his floor, freaked out, ran to the bathroom hoping no one was in there, sorted my messy self out, and then ran back to clean his floor before anyone noticed I was up. I also got blood on my pj trousers, so I had to half clean/hide them too.

I have a love/hate relationship with my periods. I hate the mess, the pain and the bloating. Especially the swelling of the stomach. >.<

Despite all of the above though, I'd feel really strange if I missed a period or didn't have them at all. They make me feel feminine. It's a relief getting them every month, considering I am sexually active.

The only reason why I always feel somewhat happy for getting my period is because of that. After the second day in which it kicks in, the hate comes rushing back XD

I hate my period for the first day and night of being on, because I'm in that much pain it kills. But after that I'm fine, but I still don't sleep properly when I'm on, don't know why though.
At the moment, since me and my bf got together I've been getting mood swings and he seems to get it all hitting of him, which he doesn't mind, but he tries to keep me calm all the times when I'm on.
So its a love hate relationship with my period at the moment.

Has anyone here ever used cloth pads? I'm thinking of ordering some soon and I'm absolutely sold, but I'd still love to get some opinions. Wow
