My industrial was definitely the worst piercing pain wise for me. I got it done and put the bar in immediately, but I've heard of getting two helix piercings and changing it to a bar... which might be a good idea, too. I've never really looked too much into it.
Mine only cost me fifty dollars, but the piercer I went to always charged really cheap. I've seen them go high as 115 dollars, so it varies I guess. My best advice for getting it done is take some painkillers before and after, and don't freak yourself out too much.
As for aftercare, I used saline solution, but I also used a contact solution with a dripper to get the parts harder to reach, and harder to clean(like the inside of the ear, hard to explain). I also didn't change mine for almost a year, because it's really sensitive. Definitely take care not getting your hair and clothes stuck on it. That's a piss off.
