Favoritism

Here is what I think:

The oldest gets a major amount of attention and gifts first. They are favored because they were first...therefor they own that nice hunk of heart in their parent's eye.

The youngest gets a hefty amount of attention simply because they are youngest. They are the "baby" and the family proceeds to give them what they want since they are the last child.

But what does that leave for the middle child such as myself? My brother Martyn is oldest, he gets clothes, tools, and my parental affection way more than he should, my little brother Hunter is youngest, and gets everything through tantrums. but me? I get things in the "hand-me-down" isle, and whatever I want I must get for myself. I know life isn't fair but this is rediculous!

Favoritism simply stinks...unless you are the one being favored.

I don't have any siblings, nor do I live with my parents, I live with my cousin; but, if you can believe it or not, he favoritises his dog over me. Isn't that sad that when the person you live with, (when you're related to them, atleast) favorises a pet over the human?

But, when it comes to my grandparents, they hate me. I mean, they seriously hate me. They ignore me completely around their other grandchildren. It's so unfair.

I don't think the oldest gets what they want completely. I'm treated like the oldest sometimes and I just get constantly scolded for not being a responsible role model for my younger brother.

The youngest thing, that's my brother. He's coddled constantly. But hey, I have no problems, as long as he doesn't let it get to his ego. Which he does. Nevertheless, favouritism sucks but it can help in building character.

I can't relate 'cause I honestly think I'm the favorite. But with good reason, mind you. My sister is a bad seed. She did drugs, gets drunk, smokes, peirces and inks herself without their permission. She effed up in school, and well. I haven't done most of those things. And the ones that I did do, they didn't find out.

Which explains why I'm favorite.
I don't feel guilty, though maybe I should.

I get that vibe too. I'm the middle of three, so it's understandable. My brother and sister get most of the attention; my brother's the oldest, and sister, the youngest.

My sister thinks that I am the favorite of the family... just because I get greater things than her. :shifty

The truth is, I never felt that my parents loved me more than her. I mean duh, I'm about to hit 4th year and of course the parents have to prepare things for me for my future.

And the other truth is, she is the one that gets all her wants. :cheese:
I don't really understand her.

Both my stepdad and my real dad favor my brother.
My dad had missed things that both me and my sister have done for one of his baseball or football games.
I know it sounds childish
But sometimes it feels that he could really care less about what I'm interested in.

My parents obviously prefer me over my sister.

Well, I know my parents love us both my bro and me, we stick together like glue n_n our age difference is kinda noticeable, but he's one of my homies n_n he gets around with my best friends and boyfriend, so I like that.
But....here's the big BUT, my mom tends to leave the easy shores to him, if he yells or talks back to my mom or dad he goes free without a punishment....and me?
I can't even rise my voice to my mom cuz she'll be over me in the blink of an eye! I can't defend myself, because my mom and dad will be like: Do not talk back to me! Do what I say or you won't go out! Don't look at me like that! Or you'll be grounded.........
I'm 19. My bro's 14...This sucks, because they should be applying discipline to him! Not to me! I already know that stuff! And I'm a grown up who has every right to defend herself...
but yeah...favoritism does exist.

I'm my dads and grandmothers favorite, my sister is my moms favorite and my little brother is my grandfathers favorite.

I think my mom favors my sister and brother over me because she pretty much takes all her stress out on me -.-
she won't admit it though and I can't talk to her about it because she turns it around on me and the problems I have....ugh *sigh*

My parents are never impressed.

If I get an A plus on an assignment, it won't get anything more then a passing glance. I think it happens because my brother is very smart, but maybe not so wise, I think.

I honestly think that at the moment I'm the golden child, because I do what I'm asked. I've been behaving well, my grades are great, and I've been helping out. So yeah, I think I'm a favorite. xD

My brother and I are adored by my grandmother. She loves us, simply because we're polite, we respect her, and I connect with her through music. She's amazing <3

My little sister gets ALL the attention.

It's so unfair.

I have good grades at college, and get nothing, but she gts 10/10 in a middle school spelling test and she gets given anything she wanted!.

I was so mad, It annoys me she gets all the attention.

My parents didnt even notice I was depressed, and I went through a huge change.

I'm pretty sure my brother's the favourite.
He's older than me so he apparently knows more about things, he talks more than me, my parents seem to like spending time with him better than they like spending time in my company. Yeah I'm kind of bitter about it but I've grown used to it.
My brother will tell you a different story though. He thinks our parents baby me. They don't do that often really, only when they know I'm sad.

My brother is reaaally popular at school and stuff. Like, seriously popular. :shock: He's the fave. :file: He's everyones favourite. :roll: He's younger than me by like, 3 years. He deserves to be popular. :cheese: He's the funniest kid you'll ever meet. :lmfao

My grandma, my dad even my brothers all love her.
But she's a complete bitch to me whether they're around or not. ::Ranting:

At times, my family can think I'm far too mature. Others, I'm too big of an idiot. I don't really know who's favoured.

My mom favors my brother. He's the middle child and she loves him because he looks exactly like her but boy version, and he's like the wimpy kid/nerd who gets made fun of at school so...

And my sister *the youngest* gets everything she wants, even if she throws tantrums *which she does frequently and she is 9*.
