^ Although I think, with your features, face shape, and hair texture and type, you could definitely pull of short hair, I think you should keep it long. Every time when I began growing my hair out, I'd get bored or frustrated with it and just chop it off, and always regret it. Not saying you'd do the same, but I say keep it long until you know for sure you want to chop it all off, especially since you've waited so long to grow it out.

Now, I don't know what exactly what you want help with but I'll suggest what I think based on the picture...
I don't know when the last time you got your haircut was, but it looks like you definitely need your layers evened and shaped up a bit and ask your stylist to just "give it shape". You don't need to be specific; if he/she is a quality stylist, they'll know what you mean. I'd also recommend some face-framing layers, probably razor-cut or point-cut, and shorter (but not short) layers on top, gradually getting longer. If you do not cut your hair at all, aside from monthly trims, than once it gets a bit longer (3" - 4", if you plan on growing it that long), I would go to your stylist and begin asking for "cascading long layers". Easy to maintain and work with, universally flattering, and never boring.

Another thing that is very subtle, but has a big impact, is getting the hair around your face lightened just a few shades, not more than three. This will brighten as well as open up your face. That is only if you're okay with coloring your hair, of course.

And also, definitely keep the side swept bang. Not only is it very flattering on you, and pretty universally flattering, it's also really hot right now, so you're one step ahead. :)

I hope I helped a little bit! I probably also rambled off to existence, but I hope it at least did some good, =p

Also, if you ever need help with styling and/or products, like you mentioned, I spent two years in beauty school and grew up in a family of stylists, so I'm your girl to go to. :)

^Thank you! I hadn't had a cut since Spring actually. I'm so long due for at least a trim. XD

I'd love some styling products/tips too please. Cheese

I'm bored mindless with my hair. I'm not particularly sure what it is I'd like to do with it but something would be nice. I've considered growing it out longer again, (it's sort of three inches past my shoulder, but it looks horribly in-between decent length just now).

    Ideas anyone? Cute
There's not one particular photo which gives the best view so you'd probably be better collectively deciding. tehe

I think I've finally found my perfect foundation! Wow I have been searching for a foundation for literally two years (basically ever since my skin went mental) and have been through so many brands. I have been using Revlon Colorstay for a long time now but it's such a heavy duty foundation and whilst it was brilliant for when I suffered from break outs almost constantly, it was one of those foundations where it is painfully obvious you are wearing it, and also settled into my pores by the end of the day and looked terrible in hot weather.

Since my skin has become more manageable (I still suffer from break outs from time to time but nothing too mental) I wanted to try something a bit more lightweight. I have quite bad red marks from my bad skin when I was sixteen, but I'm OK with them not being covered completely. Anyway I went and took the plunge for Estee Lauder Double Wear Light (much pricier than my usaul at £26.50) and so far, I am in love with it! It's much more 'natural' and feels as if you are wearing nothing. It's got pretty good coverage although you may need a bit of concealer if you are concious about any blemishes etc. The lasting power is amazing and, *so far* I'm not breaking out from it. It is non acnegenic, oil free and fragrance free (all great things as far as makeup is concerned) and dermotologically tested. I'm not sure how great it'll be when it comes to covering any nasty breakouts but I think it'd be okay.

I just thought I would post this as I know there are probably a lot of people out there like me who struggle to find a good foundation and thought this could help someone out if they are looking for one. Cute

If I were to get extensions from my hair salon, how long would they look nice for? A couple of my friends have extentions from like Sally's and after a while they just look ratty. And if I did get them from the salon, what's the best way to have them put in?

It depends on how well you take care of them. Buy extensions made from real hair, and treat them as you would your own. I f possible, get clip in extensions and do not wash/style them as often as your own hair in order to keep them in good shape.

I posted a journal, but I really want opinions so... I really hope I can post it here as well :/

I got a Kohls gift card for Christmas, and I'm going to buy a dress. I'm going to wear it for my boyfriend and I's three year anniversary <3

    one
    two

I think the first one is very pretty, and much more "me." But the second one looks more "sexy" and "different" which is what I'm going for. Still, I can't decide :/

First of all, congratulations on three years!
Second, I like the first dress. It's more unique, and that neckline looks plenty sexy enough.

I had bleach blonde hair for approximately three to four years. I've recently started dying it darker but the bleached area keeps showing through after around three weeks or so. I went to the salon, hoping that would cover it better, but three weeks down the line the bleach is showing through again!
Does anyone have any tips on how to stop this happening?

what did they do at the salon? did they just apply one colour?
if your hair's bleach blonde & you want to dye it darker you have to pre-pigment it first. At the salon they should have used like a red or orange mousse first to put red pigments back into the hair and then applied a darker colour.
it really depends on what colour you want to dye it, to what colour mousse you have to use.

If they did pre-pig it first and the colour still fades, you may just have porous hair (because of the bleach) In which case I suggest using a Quasi-Permanent. it's only supposed to last approx 48 washes and fade out, but if your hair's porous it will probably hold better.
I use a Quasi on my hair because I used to have colour fade too and the Quasi is the only colour that holds :)
It also has conditioning properties & is better for your hair then permanent.
Hope this helped in some way.

Do a lot of conditioning treatments and use a demi-permanent color. Don't try to go too dark all at once, go up a few levels at a time.

So, I've been wanting to get a haircut, but I have no idea what I actually want my hair to look like. I think I want bangs, but I'm not sure which would go good with me. This is what my hair looks like right now. My hair is naturally straight. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think some layers and a side fringe would look really nice.

What are you going for? Do you want a feminine hair style, something edgy, something classic?

Before I say anything, how much of your length are you willing to chop off, if you're even willing?

As long as I'm not bald, I'm okay with cutting it almost all off.
