I used to be obsessed with Quizilla.
it wasn't much of a "story" site, but I still loved it.

then it sold out and now I am in love with Mibba

I started my whole writing "career" on LJ, and I found it to be quite nice if you can get into the right communities, etc. I just started posting my fics in a few communities and I made some nice friends over there, and we talk through journal posts and stuff like that. I also had a quizilla way back when I was twelve, ug.

I guess one could say IAR is a Mibba-ish site.
because it's full of former Mibbians:tehe:

I agree with Dru. You can write on lots of sites, but somehow I've only seen such strong bonds made over the net on Mibba. Bonds that can even go beyond Mibba.

I go to other sites to read now, since there's a lack of diversity here nowadays [guess I got over the bandfics] but I always come back, 'cause of the people.

Mibba is the only GOOD site of it's kind. If you're looking for another website to read fanfiction then I HIGHLY recommend LiveJournal, it's been around longer and you can find fics on just about anything. I tend to post my stories on both but I only read on LJ. I'm here for the layout making, journals and forums.

^^Livejournal and Fanfiction.net have good fics too. That is, if you want to escape the real-people fanfics and go to old fashioned book, anime, show, etc fiction XD

Yes, but I don't think Mibba's just a writing site, it's grown a lot from that. For me at least it's also a blogging, journalism, reading, discussing and socializing site. And it's amazing to be able to read someone's stories and then go on and read that person's blog/journals and then get on the boards and discuss and debate with that person on a certain theme or just chit-chat through profile comments.

I never thought of it that way.
Mibba ISN'T just about stories anymore.
    Good pointing it out :cute:

    Mibba is personally my favorite.

I tried LiveJournal and it just wasn't that great.

Mibba has better writers and better rules. The administration can actually watch and make sure people use proper grammar and whatnot.

Fictionpress.com is pretty cool. Not very friendly, but you find a lot of people that want to help you improve your story.

It has a similar atmosphere to Fanfiction.net actually. :shifty I've been insulted and ridiculed on there so many times, just because this person didn't like me.

What is great about Mibba, instead of other writing sites, is you have to use correct grammar. It really really gets to me if I try to read something written in chatspeak, or even just bad grammar. I usually give up before I give the story a chance.

It's the same way with me.
There was a time where I used Quizilla and Mibba, but when Quizilla changed the layout of everything I was out.

There's fanfiction.net. Great if you like nonbandfics, but it's just not as...homey,.
Fanfiction.net sometimes feels like my second home haha.
I'm a huge anime fan and there's lots of people who there who feel like I do. Yet when I go on mibba...don't get me wrong I adore mibba.

However, it tends to exist of disturbed teenagers who take crack, have sex before they are ready and feel suicidal...

I'm not saying everyone is like that...but the majority on forums are.
It scares me as I've lived quite a sheltered life.

For some reason, when those topics are talked about in the forums, it feels like they're bragging about it. I honestly don't think those things qualify for bragging rights at all.

I've tried a lot of different sites, really... I have lots of subscriptions to all of these sites now, and its quite annoying... Anyways, its kinda already been said, but there really isn't a site out there like mibba. All the ones that were ended up dying out on us because of advertizing & site revision, and i sincerely hope it doesn't happen to mibba.
    It's home.

I do kind of wish that there were more non-fanfiction pieces here. I recently just signed up with fictionpress because it's strictly non-fanfiction.

^That's because a lot of people came from sites like GSB and INO, as well as quizilla which are pretty much populated with fanfiction. Well, from what I've observed.

I've got a fictionpress account too but that's irrelevant. :file:
