Mibba is definitely easier to navigate around. I hate it when it's hard to figure out what you have to do on a site to post something :|

I like Mibba because it is easy to load, especially when you've exceeded your internet quota for the month and the internet is really slow. It surprisingly loads quite quickly compared to other sites. :tehe:

I do kind of wish that there were more non-fanfiction pieces here. I recently just signed up with fictionpress because it's strictly non-fanfiction.
I've heard of that site. It's like fanfiction's sister XD
I might sign up on there too because more people comment your stories if it's a band they like:)

    I think that's just a huge generalization.
Good stories get reviews period [and there is a difference between a review and a comment, I personally prefer the first, but that's debatable].

I started to listen to some bands because I liked the stories that were written about them. There are a significant number -so to put it- of original fiction stories on mibba and plenty really good fanfiction ones. The thing with original fiction however, is that you have easy access to it - while fanfiction is scarce in libraries and book shops - that doesn't mean that there's a huge gap between the two genres, just that I don't understand why people brag about not being enough original fiction - just read a book.

Before mibba I was on quizilla, but last time I checked that place is full of Naruto/anime obssessed people and well...it's only good for quizzes at times (hence their name I guess haha).
I clicked on one of the ads on here called scribophile.com, its for serious writers and just wow...some of the things I've read on there sounds like a book.
I have an account on there now, but you need 'karma points' or something to post a story. and for points you need to read other people's stuff and rate. and I agree with everyone else, mibba is like a big family.
it reminds me of a myspace for writers hahaha

I never said there's nothing wrong with liking fanfics. I like reading and writing them. I just get annoyed when more people love a fanfic even it's badly written because they like the band.

There's a saying I go by : Give me more reviews and I'll write faster

It's very true, gives me more motivation:)

Haha I hate quizilla. There are so many crappy cliche stories on there you wouldn't believe. I'm anime obsessed but the stories are so badly written that I've just gone off it.

I really dislike when people only comment on stories about bands they like. But I can understand why they would. Reading through a story that you have no interest in the main character is kind of pointless.

Sometimes you just know an author is great and you'll just read all their stories because you know you're guaranteed for a well written story.

Personally I base my story reading on authors, and sometimes bands/characters etc I know I'll enjoy. If an author has presented their current story I've read so far very well, I'll usually read the other stories they have posted.

I think that's why I prefer Mibba though. I quality is great compared to other sites.

I still read fanfictions on fanfiction.net though. I find it's not that difficult to find a story I'll enjoy in my favourite pairing. :tehe:

I agree. Writers in which I like their original stories, I tend to read their fanfics as well:)
    I like originality:)

I started on quizilla way back when [:shifty:] and I recently went back after being away for so long [i had discovered mibba and well... yeah] and it's just way to confusing. I didn't even know how to view all my old stuff, and the layouts and such were all gone.

Quizilla just sucks now. Mibba owns all. End of story.

On quizilla, I didn't know how to post anything, and it was really difficult to post stories, and I think you had to create a new story for each chapter.

I also hated that the fan fiction titles had the celebrities name in it, thats just an immediate turn off for me Yak

Mibba is so much better cause it's easier to navigate in the stories, you have a nice summary and you can choose the chapter you want to go to and click on the next one right when you're done. I remember on gsb you had to continuously click next chapter to get to where you were, and that was a pain in the - :cheese:

also, correct me if I'm wrong about that gsb thing, it's been like, 2 years.

Basically, for me, a lot of it boils down to this; on Mibba, you can make layouts for your stories. :file:

Honestly though, the layout maker is something I haven't really seen on other sites and I think it just really adds another level of customization to the site, if that makes any sense.

What is great about Mibba, instead of other writing sites, is you have to use correct grammar. It really really gets to me if I try to read something written in chatspeak, or even just bad grammar. I usually give up before I give the story a chance.
    Agreed.
I hate when there's bad grammar in a story because the mistakes pretty much ruin it, even if it is a good story.

^^ I second that. The rules we have on Mibba really make it an amazing site too; although there are still plenty of stories on here that do have some grammer mistakes and everything, having the rules about grammar and such really cuts down on the potential amount of stories that would be written in chatspeak. *shudders at the thought*

I'm pretty sure LiveJournal is the only site that really comes close to Mibba.
IAR is similar to Mibba as well, but that's probably because pretty much every member on there is a former mibbian.
I think Mibba is really a one-of-a-kind place. All the other sites I've gone to, the atmosphere has been harsher or it wasn't as easy to navigate your way around the place or some other major aspect of the site has been radically different. Mibba is pretty unique. :cute:
