I started out on Wattpad first and then through another user on Wattpad i discovered Mibba and i've gotta say that i love Mibba. Everyone is so friendly and i spend countless hours on Mibba , flicking through forums, even though I'm not well-known! I made a Quizilla account and i found it.....too childish for me, and i am in the process of deleting my account as soon as that one author finishes and updates her story. I prefer Fanfiction for all my Harry Potter fics and i found a couple of good length stories on Fictionpress

I used to dig the Ultimate Storylist. Pretty sure that place is long-dead now, though. :/

They don't seem all that old though. Maybe they'll have it in the future.

I've been developing a creative writing site with my husband and sister for the past two years. I dunno how it will match up against Mibba since I've only just joined this site, but beta testing should begin in October and maybe it'll become a viable writing site. :)

Doesnt Scridb give you feedback on your stories as well? I am thinking yes, but I am not too sure about it.

I'm on Mibba as well as WritersCafe which is a much more serious writing site. But I like Mibba more because the users are friendlier and tend to be more fun-loving, haha.

What's Scribophile like? I was just on that site and it says how it's THE place for serious writers to get their stories critiqued. But is it really that good?

It's really good for critiques because, for one, each critique has to hit a certain word-count before the user gets points for it - and you need to have a certain amount of points to post your own story.

Each new story gets a plot of time on their 'critiquing' page and it doesn't get taken down until you get three reviews. Because users have to critique stories to get points to post their own stories, and because your posted story can't get onto the main page until the current stories are bumped off, it usually doesn't take too long for you to receive your critiques.

But the same problems that occur when using Mibba's Story Review thread happens here; sometimes people only focus on pointing out spelling/grammatical errors and don't comment on the actual comment of the stories.

Scribophile is great if you have a lot of time to devote to commenting other stories, but over all, for me, it's more 'work' than it's worth. I'd prefer to just use the Story Review thread or even a site like Writing.com - which implements a point system (you can receive points for reviewing a piece and you can use your points to entice other members to review your piece).

It's this. It's a website founded by a handful of people who used to be on Mibba, but who for various reason no longer come here.

Ah, thank you so much for that very detailed response, Audrey. I think now that I know what it's all about, I probably won't make an account there. It definitely doesn't sound as fun as Mibba.

I found Inkpop a little while ago.
I haven't posted anything there yet, but it's good for reviews and it's more of a teen site so I feel more comfortable there than those serious ones.
If you get on the top picks list, your story will get read and reviewed by a HarperCollins editor, which I think is pretty good. XD

Two guys in my maths class made this site talepost.com...You can post stories but they haven't made forums or anything awesome yet. I think its hilarious they think their site is better because they aren't going to delete stories etc. for poor grammar and spelling when that is one of the main reasons why a lot of people left quizilla.
I actually like the layout of that site. XD

I'm loving all of these sites ~ In Love so far, the only one I knew about was ff.net. In Love

I hate the layout...The guys who made it drew the logo on the board in maths so I'm sick of seeing it. I might just be bias bacause I'm jokingly pretending to like one of the guys and he rejected me XD

I've got sites all over, I started on quizilla and still visit over there mainly because the stories I started reading over there aren't finished yet but their really cool
Inkpop is cool especially the bit where you can't copy people's work but if you want to keep reading someone's story that's finished but the author is deleting it sort of sucks
I've never really read anything from fanfiction.net and fictionpress I have two stories I'm reading in ficitonpress and fanfiction is terrible
I just can't bare to leave Mibba because although people argue on here it's still a family...and the competitions are cool too...

Well, Mibba is probably one of the best organized and best looking sites I have found, with a really friendly community. But I also use Quzilla (its full of really bad stories, so that kinda weighs it down - alot, and it looks very chaotic and disorganized) and Wattpad (the only thing that I like almost as much as mibba)
