I still have my faith. I'm pan. I just don't believe other sexual orientations are a sin and I don't listen to people who think they are.
    They're wrong.
Not sure if this is going way too off topic but what exactly is pan?
Pansexual is when you're attracted to people, not genders.
    Gender is incidental.
And it's not bisexuality because it includes all genders, not just two.

I've been attracted to a couple, yeah.
Pansexual includes male, female, transsexual, transgender, intersex, genderqueer, and everything in between.

^ I don't have faith that my computer or shower will turn on. I trust that they do, because, you know, sometimes they don't. This whole thing with faith is silly. To place your faith into something requires absolute conviction. You believe, without a shadow of a doubt, that something is true.

    Faith is illogical. Trust isn't.
    Synonyms of Trust:
    1. certainty, belief, faith.

I looked this up on dictionary.com. Here's the URL: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/trust

Faith and trust are basically the same thing

Dictionary.com is a horrible source. I always tell my students to never use it because it gives the worst definitions.

Faith is complete trust. Trust is more of an assurance.

As far as synonyms go, they can have different meanings. A synonym is words that have the same or nearly the same meanings. Clearly, faith and trust are similar in meaning, but they are not the same.

Gender is a social construct. I think you're both confusing gender and sex.
'Sex' refers to whether you're male or female. It's your actual biology. Most people consider themselves male or female, it's who they fundamentally are. As well as their sexual organs, but that isn't always the most important thing. Gender is a set of characteristics society gives to one sex or other.

I've probably explained that badly but oh well. This came up in English a few weeks ago and I found it interesting.

^ So you're saying that there are more than two different genders?
Other than male and female I mean, because my biology teacher says otherwise.
    He wouldn't really explain.

That's kind of confusing. Is it possible for people to be born like snails? With both female and male reproduction parts?

Because your biology teacher is talking about sex.
There are two sexes. Male and female. XX or XY chromosomes.

Gender is more of a spectrum. That's how I perceive it, anyway. It's not absolute. You can have a woman who is very masculine, but that doesn't make her a man. Eddie Izzard wears dresses and makeup because he's a transvestite; therefore his appearance fits with the female gender because society attributes dresses and makeup to women. But he's not a woman. He's a man, he's of the male sex.

That's what the term androgyne means - they're a person who don't fit within the subscribed gender characteristics.

    Exactly what she said.
Genetically speaking, your teacher is right.
But in the world, no, there are more than two.

Okay...since this is a Christian forum, how about we talk about something actually pertaining to christianity...ooh, like,

how Paul is made into a new person on the Damascus road. Isn't that beautiful, for Jesus to completely turn a sinners life around, who was persecuting the Christians.

Personally, my mother and I think Paul is a bit of a bastard. But that's just us.
