Story Recs

Lone Survivors (R) is an amazing fan fiction featuring Daryl Dixon. The story has nice, short, and easy-to-process chapters, perfect for casual reading. In this story, a young survivor, Mandy, happens upon a farm, which seems to be the safest place she's seen since the Walkers took over, but while it appears to be the safest, the farm has a lot more to it than Mandy originally thought.

The Darkest Storm (PG-13) is another incredible story featuring Daryl Dixon. In this story, Darcy, a girl who is surviving on her own, comes across a group of survivors who quickly become like family to her. They provide a comfort she never thought she'd find amongst all the death and pain she has experienced, and she soon gets a chance at a relationship she never saw coming.

Kissing Death (R) is a fantastic story featuring Rick Grimes. In this story, Emily Cooper tells of the world after the apocalypse through diary entries. She deals with death, suffering, hunger, and a man who helps her through it all. Rick is her savior, but in the end, it is Emily who saves herself.

From the Fans

"Full of action, horror, and emotion - what isn't there to love about this show? Whether you're supporting the good guy, hating the main antagonist, or despising the zombies for killing another character, you're guaranteed an emotional ride each episode. It's amazing how captivating the plot is, and it's easy to form a unique idea to write a fan fic about." - takahe.angel

"It makes you picture life with something like an apocalypse happening, forces you to try and make decisions along with the characters. It makes you grow close to a small group that feels like your family even after your real family is gone. It makes you relate to the characters and fall in love with each of them so that when one dies, you feel like you lost someone dear. It's suspenseful, heart-wrenching, and you can't help but beg for more." - bikingthroughflowers

"I love The Walking Dead because it tells such a complex story that provides different levels of intrigue. It's not just a gory, horror show, nor is it a complete character-based drama. It meets right in the middle of the two different genres. Being a zombie fan myself, the show is right up my alley. Another thing I love about The Walking Dead is the cast. The actors are phenomenal and really know how to get into character. Everything on the show is so believable. The effort put into this show amazes me and I love that the fans are assured that the efforts will come to no end." -little bird;

The Walking Dead's amazing characters and excellent plot make it a fandom with a lot of opportunities to offer its fans, and a lot of freedom in which to create another world. With all the action, horror and drama of the series, there are few people who couldn't find something about it that they liked. Whether you're already love The Walking Dead or are just learning about the series, fans have one thing to ask you: are you a dead-head?
