A Ship in Harbor is Safe - Comments

  • I dont know - I am still thinking that Athena has to listen to her heart - not to everyone else.

I know there is a lot of pressure around her to dump Sid and be with Jordan, but their history seems to imply that Jordan only wanted her when she was with someone else. He would get all pissy and make things difficult for her relationship, but when she was available, he would be back with Heather.

Like I said after the last chapter, I think Jordan has "dumped" Heather because he is really afraid that he has lost Athena for good. That just maybe she has found someone he cant compete with. That is why he has been pissy over the past few weeks. He is reverting back to his behaviour when Athena is in a relationship.

Sidney certainly isnt jealous when Athena says she is going with Henry and Linda. He is just happy she is going to be there.

  • well, I think im going to take this Staal trade and deal with it the same way i did with Max, with disbelief and heartache? ugh why is Carolina being greedy with all the staals :( anywho as much as i love Jordan, Sid needs to step up, like now... Great chapter!

  • Team Jordan forever and alwaysssssss :o
I've noticed he just seems to have this big impact on her that I guess Sidney can't compare to. I'll admit I was a little in between Sidney and Jordan because Sid's character gave me no reason to dislike him in the slightest. But after this chapter Jordan has taken up most of my love radar.

  • Definitely Team Jordan a full one hundred percent after this chapter. I knew he'd pull through eventually :) I know it's probably not all Sidney's fault about how much he's gone, but he could definitely make more effort... and Jordan's kind of coming around about how he was acting and how he's feeling. Great Chapter@

  • I'm pretty sure all hopes for Team Sid just died in this chapter. I'm not a happy camper man. But whatever, if she doesn't want Sid, I'll fucking take him. Give him to me. He needs a woman who can fully appreciate him...and dat ass! Boom

  • Trying to figure out if you're gonna keep Sid or not... This should be interesting. I'm kinda leaning toward Staalsy though...cause Sid is kinda being a jerk

  • Im not a penguins fan but I saw they traded Jordan and I actually gasped and said no! I shocked myself you made me care about him lol

But im not sure what my take is on this chapter. Im contemplating whether I want to hit Jordan or his sibling now. Sid needs to sweep her off her feet!!

  • Yeah, the trade broke my heart... But I'm thinking about it this way: 3 of the 4. Sexiest brothers in hockey I know are on the same team.

Now with the story: everyone does seem to push Jordan and Athena together, an Sid does let her do her own thing. I think the best person for an"ship" here is Jordan, though. His relationship has such an impact on Athena, and when they were apart she crumbled. But it's hard to choose at this point, darn it!

  • Aw, my god. This just makes the fact that he's leaving even worse! But it was really well written! The part with Eric wrapping his arms around Athena made me laugh really hard for some reason.

  • Yah I was disappointed with the trade but I cant say I was really surprised after he rejected the contract extension.

But with the story...it does seem that everything and everyone is stacking against poor Sid. I understand why Athena did not want to bring him, but by not bringing him she is almost admitting that Jordan was right. Which I guess she did. Was that what she was going to tell Jordan - that she was unhappy with Sid? And what does Max have to do with all this?

I keep thinking that Athena could deal with Sid's absences better if she was happy with the rest of her life. I think that all the turmoil with Jordan has upset her more than she realizes and it is carrying on into the other aspects of her life. Maybe she just needs her friend back.

Everyone seems to be pushing Athena and Jordan together. But Sid seems to allow Athena to do things for herself. I keep thinking that this is much healthier in the long run.

  • EEP! They broke up!! Maybe now Jordan will get the lead out of his ass and tell Athena how she feels :D

And I absolutely loved Geno and Max in this chapter - they were fantastic! I can't wait to see what happens next!

  • Uh no I don't care if he left her or not I'm beating him with a hockey stick. No no no.
    Great update though. =)

  • Haha, I really liked this chapter. Max and Geno made me laugh. And I loved the conversation she had with Eric through Tanya! I can't wait for more!

  • Geno is awesome. I'm so glad he was in this chapter. Completely adorable. And Sid and her seem pretty good despite Jordan's pestering. So there. :P

  • No. Okay so they've been friend forever. Cool. She should still be with Sid. So Sid isn't good at balancing the different aspects of his life, that takes time. COMMUNICATION. Also, he's the best I'm going to get. Like what? You're saying that you're settling? Oh no. Not okay. TEAM SID man. Team Sid.
