Ahhggghh ch9!! This chapter! I feel like the flashback shows the trust Jack gave to Alex once upon a time and now we've seen the way Alex still trusts Jack. A perfectly written parallel. Also, I love how they still know each other so well but Alex likes to pretend they don't.

Got so excited to read this that I clicked to read it and went through the whole chapter before I even remembered to post the link to ATFF. :') ngl, I was counting the days thinking, "...An update has been forgotten. I need my fix."

BUT IT WAS SO CUTE, I'M SO EMO RN. This weird tension that Jack's feeling is fucking me up. Also, same on the baby front. As soon as I'm cuddling a tiny baby and they're falling asleep on me... bye. It's the most precious thing in the world. If I had a baby I would never get shit done.

The flashback was also hella adorable. Awkward smut fuels me.

ALSO, I wasn't expecting Tay to be the vet, haha, but it's very fitting.

I love chapter eight! Not unlike Alex, I also kinda wanna punch Zack, though. Those are the kinds of comments that really get under my skin and I think you're writing his underhanded bitchiness pretty nicely, haha. Alex checking out that girl really made me laugh, but then the flashback made me so sad. Poor Alex.

Okay, so I only just caught up with chapter seven, and I'm SO CONFLICTED. Like I'm happy that Alex has a job and things are looking up for him at least a tiny bit but I'm aching for Jack about wanting a family and the little flashback at the end with sad, needy Alex pained me. ASUIGJOHKPGL;FGJ. Gonna go read eight now. <3

I love what you've done with Zack, giving him a voice. He's such a hard person to cast but his loyalty to Jack is sweet, while his forever hatred of Alex is so pure. Watching the relationship unfold perfect, even if it's about to be gutting.

Love this so much! It sounds like Alex really relied on Jack during some kind of low (can't wait to find out what!) or perhaps he was just a bit of a man-baby. Either way, Jack obviously got done with it and Alex has been lacking ever since. Excited to see if Daniel brings them together, although Jack's life seems happy and content - it almost feels cruel to wish that to end. I can't wait for next update!

It seems like Jack gave up a lot for Alex and that's the big factor to the dissipation of their relationship. (they went to the same college even though Jack is highly academic while Alex was a subpar student??) But, Jack can't be perfect. There is so much sweetness to both of their characters.

THAT CHAPTER WAS SOOOO CUTE. Both the current day part and the flashback. Everything's so soft and sweet right now, it's hard to picture whatever horrible thing happened in between. :') I'm still really feeling sorry for Alex though, being landed with such a tiny baby with no warning. I've done plenty babysitting for tiny babies to know it really is that exhausting and it's AWFUL.

This update was really easy-going and sweet, I liked it a lot! Good job, can't wait for the next one.

Such a TEASE but the best kind of tease! We're all on the edge of our seats learning about the breakup, but it's just as fun learning about the build-up of their relationship. I love the insights to Jack's guilt about avoiding Dave and his confusion (denial?) about it. Gah, just so good!
