Happy 8-7 day! Glad to see you back.

Enjoyed the update. As angry as I was with Sid in the last chapter, I did mellow over time. I realized that although he said some really stupid things, he was floundering with his own issues - his own emotions - and did not want to hurt Mia. It was fine when it was just sex, however Mia's admission made Sid realize this was so much more for her. He wasnt sure he could deliver all she needed. All he felt she deserved.

There is no way Mia has moved on. Oh I know she talks a good game but she is still butt hurt. Even after 3 weeks, nothing has really subsided. This is partly due to the fact that she is not addressing the issues. Avoidance - that's what she does. But guess what, when she turns around, the issues are still there. Avoiding dinners, text messages, even tv press conferences is not going to help.

But classic Mia, when she is hurt, she goes on the offensive - hitting Sid where he is most vulnerable. Knowing how jealous Sid can get, Mia throws Ryan right in his face. She is trying to make him hurt as much as she is.

What she isnt seeing is that he IS hurting as much as she is.....maybe even more.

The last update kind of got me fired up!

My first reaction - What a dick! !!! Was Mia just a warm body that helped Sid get through the ordeal. That he was arrogantly thought she would be up for a romp, even under her parent's own roof???

My second reaction - Poor Mia
Mia basically put her feelings out there -something she was really not comfortable doing - only to have Sid rip her heart to shreds.She had guarded herself against her true feelings for him, fearing he did not reciprocate, and when she finally allowed herself to believe, Sid crushed her.

But on my third reading of the chapter - after I cooled down a bit - I realized that there may be a lot of truth to what Sid so "eloquently" said. In AA it is strongly recommended that members refrain from entering intimate relationships for at least a year. So if Sid feels he is "addicted" to Mia it probably would be ill-advised to consumate things, now knowing how monumental this step is for Mia.

However, I do believe that Sid is in denial of his true feelings for Mia. And maybe he was correct to take a step back in order to sort everything out. I just wonder if Mia will be receptive or even available if and when he figures things out.

HOLY CRAP! I did not see Sidney’s sudden flip around coming - not after the way he acted on the plan and whenever one of the ex’s showed her any kind of attention.

I find that I kind of do understand his reaction, though, despite how much I hate him for it. They had just come home from being captured and living in constant fear of dying - a relationship or anything serious would have the fear of being plausible due to circumstance (as Sidney so rudely threw in her face) or because of trauma.

However, I really don’t think Mia is going to be able to get through her own messed up mind over what happened without someone to lean on, and with this thrown in, it’s gonna be even harder for her. I hope someone around her steps up (preferably a hot male that makes Sidney regret being an asshole, cuz I’m petty like that).

Well I can't say that Mia being a virgin is a total shock - we knew she didn't sleep with Ryan before she joined the Forces. And if she hadn't slept with a guy she was in a relationship with for 7 months, it was definitely plausible that she didn't sleep with a guy she was in a short-lived casual relationship with.

I am also not shocked that Sid put the brakes on "consumating" their relationship in Mia's bedroom with her parents upstairs. But what did throw me for a loop was Sid seemingly turning her down flat intimating that he was not good enough to do the deed.

One would think he would be honoured that Mia wanted to do this with him - that with all his jealousies she wanted him above everyone else. Maybe a different time and place but not total rejection.

Sid is kinda sending mixed signals here. He said previously that he wants Mia in his bed every night but now he doesn't want to be the one to take Mia's virginity. Does he not see them as a longer term thing? I hope Sid backtracks a bit on this as Mia really put herself out there basically revealing how much she cares for him.

Can't wait for the next update!

Well that was some surprise damn

Was Sid really thinking that he could just stay the night with Mia - dropping in after no contact at all for 4 days - and in her parent's house, no less??? REALLY? Somehow, I dont think that would sit well with Richard. It is pretty obvious that something is going on with Sid and Mia and fathers, especially military fathers, do not take too kindly to guys making the moves on their daughters - even if they are NHL All Stars!!!

It would have been a much better idea to go to his place - but it would have been very awkward for Mia to up and leave her family for a sleepover with Sid.

But even more awkward is Sid - and Greg and RYAN - all camping out at the Shaw's. The sleeping arrangements could prove uncomfortable to say the least!

Four days without any word????

What happened to the guy who said, “When we leave this place, I want you in my bed every night.” I get that logistics and the hoards of media camped out outside their homes make things a little difficult, but FOUR DAYS???

I really hope that it is Sid at the door, because if it isn't, especially with all the "dinner table conversation" about him, Mia may spontaneous combust.

And one thing all storm watchers know, is that after the storm does hit, you have to prepare for the inevitable storm surge. Look out for that storm surge, Mia!

I keep going back to what Greg said to Mia about her not realizing the affect she has on men. I get that everyone had been so worried about her when she was held hostage, but both Jake and Ryan seem to show that they have never gotten over the fiery red-head – despite her assertions in both cases that they are long over.

And now she has no comprehension on how Sid truly feels. Despite the fact that he shows left and right how jealous he can be and the fact that he is constantly worried about her well being – when she returns to the cell after meeting with Hassan, in the airplane washroom on the flight home and more recently in the van when she is retrieving the flowers – Mia does not recognize the depth of his feelings. When Sid is not waiting after she visits Josh’s grave, Mia adopts her fatalistic attitude that he is gone for good without a good bye or even a see you later. Does she really think that she is never going to see him again when they basically live in the same city and it is obvious that the two families have built a strong bond? This echoes her feelings in the cell that she is not destined for happiness.

It seems that Jake’s death wounded her deeply – so deeply that she may not really have dealt with his loss. Perhaps this is why she cannot let herself believe she can find and deserves to find happiness.

It will be interesting to see how Sid tries to contact Mia - and how they try to get "alone" time. Especially seeing as they have security detail 24/7.

So glad to see the update. I know how life can get so busy at times. And I appreciate your commitment to continuing with the story.

I really loved the family interaction - finding out a bit more about Sid and Mia's families. It is obvious that there have been some relationships developed over the time Sid and Mia were held hostage.

I was a bit surprised that Ryan made a re-appearance. I actually thought some girl Sid had been casually seeing prior to the kidnapping would show up - one that maybe assumed there was more of a relationship than Sid did - that would give Mia her turn at being jealous this time.
