I get the "Love/Hate" aspect here. Mia and Sid are in a highly stressful situation - and let's face it, stress can bring out the worst in people. They are in extremely close quarters, aren't sleeping or eating properly and never know what tomorrow will bring. Their worlds have been turned upside down - definitely not ideal conditions to start any type of "relationship".
Sid is a control freak. He is a slave to his "routines' and has relied on his hard work and preparation all his life to ensure positive results, on and off the ice. None of this is possible in his current situation making Sid edgy. He has to rely on Mia to help him navigate all this, which cannot be easy for someone who thrives on control. His growing level of anxiety can partially explain his lashing out at Mia.
But I do think Mia is reading Sid wrong. Yes, Sid was afraid of being alone while she was gone, but I think he was more afraid of being without HER and wondering whether she was ok. He couldn't bear the thought of their captors harming her in any way. Mia may not be seeing what is right in front of her.
It will be interesting to see where you take this next!
Mailman Interruptus - damn, that REALLY put a screaming halt to their "romantic interlude".
It will be interesting to see what Mia is going to experience with the "Boss Man". Poor Sid can only sit and wait to see if Mia returns - and if she does, will she be ok.
These two are both all over the map emotionally - which would only stand to figure given the situation they find themselves in. We do get a bit of insight into Mia's true feelings, as the story is told from her perspective, however I have found myself wondering about Sid's mind set. We only know what Mia sees - and how she interprets it.
It was interesting to get a bit more of the backstory on Mia - especially with Josh and the motivation for her to join the military as well. Sid has to learn that he is not the captain here, and if they are going to survive, he is going to have to cede control over the situation. He is going to have to accept that Mia has expertise that he does not and he will have to yield to her better judgement. Something I am sure he is not used to.
I AM interested to see how Sid reacts to the Boss Man ogling over Mia.
Why do I get the feeling Sid is just being trotted out in front of some sort of media to prove he is alive and being treated "well" and that he is going to end back up in the cell with Mia.
If they were just going to release him, I dont think they would go to all the trouble of cleaning him up. Maybe give him some pants to wear but certainly no hair gel.
