Summer Coral Makeup
I really love this look because it’s one of the few makeup combinations that I’ve found that’s flattering to my fair skin. It’s also a way to incorporate color without going overboard and looking like a clown or looking too made up for something casual like class or a daytime outing.
To create this look, you’ll need a peach-toned blush, a light coral eye shadow, and a peach lip gloss. I've added my suggestions for eyeliner and mascara colors, but those are really optional.
Step One
Complete your normal foundation and concealer routine.
Step Two
Apply a peachy blush to the apples of your cheeks. I use Covergirl’s TruBlend mineral blush in shade 430 shimmering sands.
Step Three
To accentuate your lashes, you can curl them using an eyelash curler, then apply a couple coats of a dark brown mascara (black can be too harsh). I use Covergirl’s Natureluxe mousse mascara in black brown.
Step Four
Define your eyes by using charcoal gray or brown eyeliner. In my opinion, black and navy liner can be a little too much for this more subtle look. I only line my lower lash line using Covergirl’s Perfect Point Plus liner in espresso.
Step Five
Blend a shimmery coral eye shadow across your lid up to the crease. I use the peachy color in Almay’s Intense i-color shadow in 031 trio for browns, but the coral shadow in e.l.f’s natural eye beauty book works well also.
Step Six
For the brow bone, I use the cream shadow in the Almay palette I’ve mentioned above, but really, any shimmery cream-toned shadow works just as well. To brighten the eyes, dab this shadow along the inner v of the eye.
Step Seven
Finish off the look with a peach or coral gloss. I use New York Color’s Liquid Lipshine in 575 Brighton Beach peach.
Overall, I end up wearing this look quite often during the summer because I feel like it has the same natural effect as neutrals while bringing out a natural flush. Normally, I stray away from using one color all over the face, but I feel like it works with this look because it is a more subtle color.
