Twilight wasn't a bad book, but too many people are obsessed over it. Here's an example. You know Twilight has become too popular when.... someone takes the time to slash and burn a character that they hate, and it becomes a controversy amoung mibbians. Also, very opinionated. It would have had more of an impact if you had presented the facts and asked readers to make a conclusion.
Why do people care so much about Stephenie Meyer's characters? You never hear about any other books! People treat these characters like they're real saying things like he's a retard, controlling or I'm going to marry him! Edward is designed to be this way, if you don't like it bite your tong and don't read it!
HE IS NOT REAL!!! Complain about someone who is real like the Jonas Brothers and of course he has flaws most likely having to do with the time period he was born and raised. Maybe instead of writing an article about it you could see that it is historically correct, women's lives were controlled by their husbands also would you want your boy/girl friend to go hang out with someone you knew was deeply in love with them. I don't think so
Edward is a right pain in the ass. I'd hate to be near him, he's always so much better than Bella and makes it known. He's always so condescending, all, "Ho ho ho! Silly little Bella, if you didn't smell so delicious I'd eat you for being such a stupid, boring little bitch."
not to sound mean but he is a fictional character. he is not real. i never picture edward like that and i dont think robert patterison (however you spell his name) was a good edward. that's just my opinion. he is prince charming to other girls but for me he is not a prince charming.
Its a book, hes not REAL! You make it look like he is some crazy stalker psycho dude. He was just curious about Bella, and thats what happens in fictional stories.
Jesus Christ. Are people still having this debate? HE IS FICTIONAL!
I understand that you want to get your point and opinion across. But enough is enough. Now even the people who don't like Edward and Twilight are getting on my nerves. (and I am one of them) But really? Stop bringing it up. I don't care if you love or hate or are indifferent. IT'S A BOOK.
Besides, all characters in a book need flaws and a few are not being able to be around Bella's scent. I think I would be jealous if my boyfriend was running into the arms of another girl ( Jacob and Bella ).
Besides, he is fictionial. If all of this didn't happen in the story, what kind of story would it be?
The reason she's addressing this people, is because teens are going insane like making icons that say 'men should be like edward cullen' well my dear girls, i don't know about you but I like my hotdogs with real meat and you can hold the stalker on that.
yourpinkdiary: But there's a difference between having character flaws and being a stalker. And watching someone while they sleep without their knowledge sounds like stalking to me.
I agree that this could have been a journal though.
It matters because the age group this book is aimed at consists of a lot of teenage girls that are easily influenced and might actually believe that it is completely okay for a guy to treat them the way Edward treats Bella.
