The hiatus or not, it's a fact that all four member are doing different things now. Apart from each other. And it saddens me. The second break-up of my two most favorite bands. I surely hope that it's not for the long run, but lately everything shows up that there might not be more Fall Out Boy. Not soon, at least. Maybe in a distant future.
God, I hope I'm wrong and that they get back together.

I'll admit, I cried like a baby that had their favorite teddy bear taken away. But you know what? I'm okay with it. Pete has so much going on in his life, and if he can't see himself with FOB, then we'll have to accept it, and respect his choice. After all, he does have little Bronx, and Ashlee too. I remember him tweeting about how much he missed them when he's on tour. I'm sure though, that this is not the last we hear of Pete Wentz.

It has now been stated by Kerrang! magazine that this is a hoax after they set the whole thing up and got various famous people invovled in it. A Facebook groun has been set up called something like 'I give up.. I also quit Fall Out Boy'. Kerrang! have also said that their April Fools joke 2008 about the same thing was funnier!

I'm sorry that the fact Pete said he could never see himself playing in FOB again was inferring too much. -_-

As many have already said, he said it was indefinite what the future was for the band. Just because he is talking about it a lot just means it's been on his mind for awhile or he's been asked frequently about it. Far too much inferring in the article to be honest.

There is a lot of inferring going on here. Pete should never be your only source because he says crazy shit all the time. Either he's kidding or he's being serious, but is unable to plainly and clearly explain what he really means. [both have been known to happen.]
Any of these things sounds like part of the taking a break thing to me. If someone who is NOT Pete would have spoken up, perhaps this subject would be clearer.
However, if this is a break up thing. I just have one thing to say: Blink 182 all fucking over again. How predictable and lame. [I sincerely hope it isn't like that, but if it is I can only hope it's EXACTLY like Blink and they, less predictably ,spontaneously reunite and are awesome once more.]

Oh my god. All he said was he didn't know the future of Fall Out Boy. And BTW, in an AP AUDIO podcast with Pete Wentz he said that they were on a touring HIATIUS! Don't fear the word. The word means a slight BREAK! So stop worrying. This is getting ridiculous. Do you think that Pete Wentz would leave the band that he has help found and that helped him in his depressed period? I don't think so. So, calm down.

I was wondering before I saw this if something was happening. Earlier John Mayer posted on his Twitter:

'As defacto leader and bass player of Fall Out Boy, I am thrilled to announce Queensryche's Geoff Tate is our new singer.'

I didn't and still don't really know how to interpret this; was he joking or being literal?

This is ridiculous. You know what would be awesome? If bands I like actually stayed together. I'm not sad at all! I'm fucking pissed off!

I'm in mourning. Fall Out Boy was the first band that I got into in that genre and I couldn't have adored them anymore. The fact that I had a major cruch on Pete helped. He was my first famous person crush haha. I got over it but I still always have and always will respect him and all the guys. I grew up with their help.
I reallly still hope there is some kind of future for them, whether it's in two or twenty years, I'll be waiting.

I don't really know how I should feel about this...
I guess it's sad and I was so disappointed when the other FBR bands split up, but it seems kind of fitting for Fall Out Boy to do the same. Their era is over and they should leave on a high.
