You know Christians get discriminated against as well. So many people call our beliefs simply "fairy tales", yet its ok for Pagans to believe in the Mother Spirits or so (Sorry if I got that wrong.) Atheists are actually seen in a better light than us, because theirs are based on "logic".

They assume we're all bible-thumping close minded robots who live at church and hate fun, when it's far from true. I love how your article on discrimination discriminated a religion: "Christians constantly pushing their beliefs on others" Humph. Excuse me for trying to share something with other people. I'm sure if an Atheist came up to you and said Jesus is a myth, you'd accept it no problem.

Sorry if I sound bigoted, but I'm angry.

I do get what you're trying to say, but....
I'm getting tired of this "Hey, let's find another fault with America" shit.
Yeah, there's racism, but look around-- it's everywhere.

There are some points I agree with, such as the discrimination and racism is incredibly great in America, but racism is everywhere, not just here. I'll admit, that we probably have some the worst accusations of people just because many people are so narrow-minded. But, still. You have to spread to other places and not just zoom in on America's racism to make this article work properly.

Drama Queen: lay off people think differently than you personally as long as no one of the race is in the vicinity or if they know you're joking then its fine.

semi good article.

ZOMBI3: Are you actually convincing yourself that "joking" about being racist isn't actually racist? Because believe me, I'm fairly sure that your little jokes aren't actually that funny to the people your making fun of. And as Preschool teacher as that sounds, seriously. Grow up. Making excuses about how "its only in a joking manner" is only making yourself look pathetic. Rascism is not a joke, even if you giggle about it. Being racist is not something you should be proud of, even if you think your being "funny".

Cocoa Crime Time made me laugh. I've heard a lot, but that's a first!

Everyone is racist in one way or another though, so I don't see the point in this article to be honest with you. It's just in our nature I would imagine. I don't really know. I'm English, and the people over here are racist just as much as America and any other country in the world.

And as has been said before, you aren't racist towards religion. Racism is against a person's race, whereas you discriminate against a person's religion. They're two different things.

However, you have a good way of getting your ideas across, even if I don't agree with what it is that you are saying. So I commend you for that.

And more than white people can be racist, remember that.
Anyone can be racist, not just 'Americans'

I completely agree with Geesecks about the Christianity issue.

Honestly, I think that while this article was fairly well-constructed, you need to take a step back and look at your "facts".

Do you even LIVE in America? How do you know most of our society is racist? Media? Assuming?

And also, like eslizard said, you can't be racist to religious groups. You can discriminate, but the term racism only applies to race. They're two different things.

I dont feel as if this artile was good in any aspect really. From they way I read you, you arent from America. If you dont live here, who are you to say what Americans are like?
Yes, racism exists here, as Im sure it exsists everywhere, but that doesnt mean that everyone walks around calling muslims terrorists.
My school is extremely diverse, less than 50% of the students are caucasian, a good portion is black, an even bigger portion is African (as in, they were born in Africa, and probably lived there for a while), part is latino, and the rest is mixed from everywhere else. My best friend is from Eritrea, a country in Africa, and I know that not all of Africa is poor like we are taught in school. Very rarely do I see many forms of racism in this area because we are so diverse.

If you plan on writing an article about racism in the future, why dont you try to explain the cause of it; ignorance to these other races.

Also, you cant be racist to a religious group. Race has to do with inheritable characteristics, like skin color. Racism and discrimnation are two different things.

Racism is everywhere. America is not the only country with a large amount of racism in it. Why don't you stop singling out America and look at other countries as well?
Everyone is racist. We all make racist comments. You are racist as well.

oh look, another person with their head up their ass.

so what? racists are everywhere. E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E

and everyone's a bit racist too, (hence the song from avenue Q XD) so if you think you're above everyone else because you "dont discriminate" agaisnt others, which i bet you do, i'd suggest getting off your high horse and jumping back down into the deep depths of the well of reality.

seriously.

I agree that America is full of prejudice, but EVERY country is. Americans are made fun of in other parts of the world, and people of other nations are made fun of as well.

ahahahahahaha Cocoa Crime Time. That made me laugh.
The only religion that I don't like is Christianity. It doesn't scare me, most of it's followers just make me want to fall onto a sharp object. :]
And pssshhh, I love Jewish people, man, they rock pretty hardcore. I actually considered converting a while back, but I forgot why I never persued it.

For the most part, I agree with all of this. Except....

Mexican people are also discriminated often. There are many jokes about all Mexicans being illegal aliens. They are constantly told to go back to their country. Some people do not even bother to learn Mexicans' names. They may be called something like "Jose Quervo" or "Pedro", or sometimes even just "the Mexican", as if they do not matter.

I don't have a problem with all Mexicans- just the ones that follow me around when I'm in town like they're stalking me. Oh, and the ones that stare any at me anytime they see me. It's rather irritating to walk around feeling like a piece of meat because a bunch of them follow you around speaking in Spanish, knowing that what they're saying can't be G rated.

Not only are Americans afraid of people from different countries, but of different religions too. Pagans, Jews, Atheists, Satanists, and Muslims are commonly discriminated against. A man with a turban may be called something as fowl as a "Towel Head" and a woman with her robes and veil may be called something just as horrible. A person who is openly Jewish may be called a "dirty Jew". People may completely avoid a Satanist and call a Pagan a "witch" or make jokes about magic. Atheists may be constantly interrogated about their beliefs, people of Christian religions attempting to push them towards Christianity.

Interesting how you mentioned every single religion that is mocked EXCEPT Christianity. You know, because that's never mocked. They're just the ones mocking people. Note sarcasm. Trust me, as a Christian, I've been mocked and insulted a fair share. If you're going for the "equal treatment" with this, make sure to cover all sides.

racism is a very common thing...
but as an american, more as from new york city, which has more immigrants than actual americans... well, racism isn't that big of a thing to me.

it's fun to make fun of other races, it really is. and its fun to make fun of your own race. i'm irish, italian, sweedish, scottish, french, german and british... and american (america.... FUCK YEAH!)

i make fun of asians, making fun of their accents and how they say "hello" "hiro", and i make fun of middle easterns and i make fun of mexicans, and my friends make fun of other races and everyone else does... but we normally do it in a joking manner. they're just jokes. everyone laughs because they're funny.

yeah, there are serious racists, like my boyfriend. extremely racist. but most people keep their racism to theirselves, for the most part. not all, but a fair amount.

very well written article.(:

It extremely irks me how you describe this country as being "full of racists" when it is, in fact, not. (I realize you said not all Americans are racist. But if that were true, why did you say 'America is full of racists'? Those are two contradictory statements).

What about other countries? Why America? Racism exists everywhere, but I have a feeling people pick on America for one reason; the fact that it is America and therefore it is okay to hate against.

If this was a general article, I would have agreed. But this happens everywhere. Specifying and blaming one country just... gets under my skin.

Great writing skills, by the way. I'm sorry if I insulted you; I just wanted my views to be put out there.
