Natural Redheads To Become Extinct? - Comments

Why would people make fun of some one for their hair color? I really thought we've grown out if that phase.July 31st, 2009 at 11:25pm

I don't think red heads could ever go extinct. The only way to really shut it out of blood systems and genes would to be to kill everyone, right now, that had that gene in them, even if it doesn't show.
I don't think the world needs another genocide. =)
Nice article by the way.July 31st, 2009 at 11:23pm -
This was really, really well written.
And it was an interesting subject, and so I give you my bravo.July 31st, 2009 at 11:21pm -

cool article! hahaha. ginger?July 31st, 2009 at 10:50pm -
Okay, gingerism? Wtf is that? My friend has red hair, and we joke around, but no one bullies him about it. Seriously, people can honestly be so stupid sometimes. :/ EVERYONE gets bullied about their hair, their clothes, etc. Not just because they're redheads. Sheesh.July 31st, 2009 at 10:49pm

Both of my parents are brunette.
Both me and my brother are redheads.
And by redheads, I mean seriously vibrant red hair.
I don't want to go extinct!
Seriously, the term 'ginger' doesn't bother me, if it's just a little joke. What bugs me is when people I don't know or don't particularly like use it as an insult. That is obnoxious and rude. But, wouldn't that be true of any name people think of?
Nifty article. I saw the title and had to comment. :)July 31st, 2009 at 10:32pm -
I've known about this for a while.
Its sad.
Aw, I like gingers.
DON'T DIE OUT! D:July 31st, 2009 at 10:15pm -
Why would people bully for the color hair that you have? -.- I think people are smart enough to pick a better reason.July 31st, 2009 at 10:12pm

I knew this for about two years. I'm glad someone spoke out FINALLY! I love natural redheads, though. Especially Rupert and *inserts Ginny's real name*July 31st, 2009 at 10:07pm

Gingerism? -giggles- I don't think that's an actual prejudice where I live. To us, "ginger" is just a harmless teasing name. No one really gets offended.July 31st, 2009 at 09:54pm

AHHH!! Im a natural redhead!July 31st, 2009 at 09:47pm

KeepOn-Dreaming
Wow, "ginger" isn't THAT harsh over here. In England, a fair number of people just say "ginger" instead of "redhead". It's one of the few names I've been called that doesn't bother me :-PJuly 31st, 2009 at 09:47pm -
Furthermore, they are highly likely to become victims of gingerism, a prejudice against red hair that can often lead to bullying in schools.
*giggle*
It's a form of prejudice, just like homophobia or racism. "Being black has its side effects, as you may be picked on by racist assholes during school..." Waiting to see that now. One day.July 31st, 2009 at 09:45pm -
Nooo! Red hair must not go extinct! It's so pretty...July 31st, 2009 at 09:43pm

Hopefully we don't go extinct. I am quite fond of my red hair, though it has significantly darkened over the years...
Otherwise, this was a nice little article. I had no idea so many people carried the gene for red hair.July 31st, 2009 at 09:37pm -
awe i'm a natural redhead.
:(
i don't want to be extinct!July 31st, 2009 at 09:30pm -
A very nice article, I reckon. With random interesting clips of fact, PLUS a couple of predicted Doomsday dates for the hair colour of ginger. Intriguing~July 31st, 2009 at 09:30pm

I died my hair brown & it came out red. & people started making fun of me.
Then I died it again & it turned orange, people now call me pumpkin head. >.<July 31st, 2009 at 09:19pm
Gingers are bullied constantly. I think it might be because of the stereotype of gingers having fiery tempers, or something.
I don't see why though, ginger's an amazing colour o: I dyed my hair ginger, it looked sexy ;)
Seriously, if ginger becomes extinct, I'll cry. I love it too much.
