Phoenix bit her lip sitting in the middle of a river on a huge rock. She loved water but sometimes it was just a little intimidating. She ran a hand through her fiery hair. Phoenix had grown use to the nickname she had been given, Nickie was a good substitute for Nix. It had been a long story but here se was now doing her early morning calming out in the middle of the River. The head master had thought it a good idea to one step out of her comfort zone and two to relax for the day.

Tyler stretched and cracked his neck in the morning. He had never thought he was special but the headmaster said otherwise. Yeah Tyler could lift a bus with ease and see as far as an eagle. He could run faster then a cheetah and all his senses where better but he had just that he was normal tell the headmaster showed up at his apartment. Tyler got dressed and came out of his room only to be greeted by his girlfriend with a too early good morning kiss.

Deric walked through the forest, loving the feeling of the wind on his skin. He felt a mind near him and he reached out toward it realizing that it was Phoneix. He walked toward her and slid down into the seat next to her. "Hey, Nix." He said to her with his easy, charming smile.

Hailey stood at the gates of the school. Her hand trembled as she touched the iron gates gently. She lOoked over her shoulder and saw that her parents had already left. They didn't want a freak for a daughter. She bit her lip and tried to hold back tears as she pushed the gate open.

Phoenix smiled. "Hello Deric." She said smiling her eyes closed as she meditated breathing in deeply then exhaled. "How are you today?" she asked smiling. She always like Deric's presence, he was calming.

Tyler looked at the time. "Oh shit I'm late." he said and kissed his girl goodbye running with his quick speed out to the gate. He stopped in front of a very scared looking girl. "Hey, the headmaster said you where coming." he grinned. "I'm Tyler nice to meet you. Sorry didn't mean to frighten you. Let me get your bag there." Tyler offered to take it from her.

Deric sat down next to her and smirked. "I hope you don't only think of me as calming because you do know I am filled with charm and tons of interesting things." he joked.

Hailey gasped when a boy seemed to appear out of no where in front of her. "I- I'm..."she looked at him and realized that he was really cute but she shook her head. "I'm Hailey." she whispered tentavily.

Phoenix smiled. "Aren't you suppose to stay out of people's heads?" Phoenix grinned. He was charming though they didn't talk enough for her to find out all of the interesting things he was talking about. "What are you up to Deric?" she asked her eyes still closed.

"Nice to meet you Hailey." Tyler took her bag and then nodded to the mansion. "Welcome home, and umm just warning you now, stay away from the twins." Tyler chuckled. Hailey was much to shy for the twins."So if I'm not being to straight forward what's your gift?" he asked as he started to lead her toward the mansion.

Deric grinned at her. "I'm supposed to stay out of people's heads but it's hard to control it sometimes." He shrugged. "I'm not really up to nothing. I was just walking and I felt your mind so I decided to come sit. What are you up to?"

Hailey looked up at this guy and opened her mouth but no souds came out for a bit. "I wouldn't call it a gift." she finally said bitterly. She looked down at her feet. "I can control water."

Phoenix chuckled at him. She smiled when he asked what she was doing. "I am calming myself. My temper tends to get hot." she said and chuckled then brought her hands together and over her head then she opened her green eyes. "So I take time to calm every morning so some kid doesn't loose an eyebrow." Phoenix smirked.

Tyler grinned. "Are you kidding that is a gift. Have you learned to change it's shape yet, or move it? Sorry I'm going to fast." Tyler chuckled.

Deric laughed. "Wow, y

(Sorry phone being weird)

Deric laughed and smiled at her. "Wow, you are being quite punny aren't you?" he smiled at her and ran his fingers through his hair. He leaned back and looked up at the sky. It was a gorgeous morning.

Hailey bit her lip. "I um...yeah I can. I can even turn it into ice." she mumbled, looking down at her feet. She didn't understand this boy's enthusiasm.

"Actually that wasn't a joke." Phoenix chuckled and smiled looking up at what he did then stood. "It is peaceful out here, you might be able to keep your thoughts if your out here." she said and grinned.

"That's wonderful, and snow too?" he asked grinning. "Can you do it on command? Sorry to personal I know." Tyler chuckled and opened the door for her and two brunet twin boys stood there. "We're glade to meet you." they said at once. "Get out of here." Tyler said swatting them away. He laughed. "I'll show you to your room and introduce you to your room mate when she returns."

Deric looked at her and nodded. "When I first starting walking down here, I came because it was the only place I could be where there weren't any minds to read. It was nice to be alone but now that my power is stronger even this far away I can still read the minds of people in the school."

Hailey slid behind Tyler when the two brunettes jumped out. She looked around him fearfully before nodding at what he said. She didn't know if she was going to make it in this school.

Phoenix smiled. "Well then you might want to stuck your head in the freezing water." she teased and smiled. "I'm heading back." she said and put a hand on his shoulder in a friendly way as she started to jump rocks back to the shore. "See you in training."

Tyler chuckled. "Don't mind them any." he said and lead her up the stairs and into a room. "Here we are." he said. There was water all around the room and a soothing sent. "Nickie needs to stay calm but I don't think you'll bother her any." he said smiling. "She should be coming back soon." he said setting her bag on one of the beds.

Deric nodded and watched as she walked away. She was really pretty he couldn't help but think. He smiled softly to himself as he stared at the water. He watched as leaves fell and caused ripples across the surface.

Hailey nodded and looked around. She dipped her finger into one of the water dishes and swirled her finger around making an ice sculpture. She looked over her should and blushed when she saw Tyler looking at her.

Tyler smiled. "Hey that's pretty good." he smiled. "Is there anything I can get you?" he asked waning to help make her feel comfortable. Tyler looked up as Nickie walked in. "Hey told you your room mate was coming in."

Phoenix smiled. "Hey." she said and looked at the shy girl with her finger in the water. "Aww a fire hydrant, thanks Ty." she said. "Headmaster's orders." Tyler said and Phoenix smiled. "No she's calming it's good thanks." she said walking over to the girl sticking her hand out. "Phoenix, but you can call me Nix, or Nickie too." she said grinning. "Welcome."

Hailey looked at this girl and started trembling. She controlled fire she thought in a panic. Her parents used to burn her to see how fast she could react with her power. She stared at this girl with wide eyes, wondering if she would do the same.

Deric finally decided to head back to the school. He stood up and began an easy walk back.

Phoenix frowned. "Sorry." she pulled her hand away. "I'm not going to hurt you you know, no one here will. We all know what it's like to not feel wanted." she said then bit her lip. "Tyler can you wait right out side the door?" she asked. Tyler nodded and did so. "I want to show you something I haven't shown anyone but the headmaster." she said and turned her back to the girl. She lifted her shirt slightly then pushed down the part of her pants to show little marks. "They use to drug me to get me to stop. The headmaster took me out of an institution." she said then turned again. "We are all unwanted but here we are finally excepted." she said.

Tyler stood outside the door then came back in when Phoenix called him in. He came in with a slight frown. "We all have our scars." Tyler said.

Hailey watched them both. "No offense to you both but you guys have had longer to get over your scars than I have." she went to her he'd and sat down heavily. She wrapped her arms around herself and looked up at them both. "I've never been anywhere were I was accepted or wanted."

Deric felt a new mind in the school and he went to investigate. He walked toward it realizing he was heading to Phoenix's room. He knocked on the door before letting himself in.

Phoenix smiled. "As always Deric you have perfect timing." she said filling him in mentally. She told him basicly the girl was scared of fire therefor scared of her.

Tyler went over to Hailey and sat next to her. "You're right."

Deric sighed and felt bad for Phoenix. No one needed a roommate that was terrified of her. He sighed and looked down at the girl. "Hey, just so you know, I know what you have been through." he whispered.

Hailey looked up at the guy who just walked in. She looked at Tyler and then at Pheonix. All of them seemed to be watching her so she sighed and stood up. She held out her hand to Phoenix, it was trembling but she figured it was better than nothing. "I'm Hailey."
