Here I am

Phoenix smiled a little knowing how hard it was for the girl. "I'm nice to meet you Hailey, we'll try to find you a room where you can sleep at night." she said and shook her hand for a little then let her go. She smiled and turned to Deric. "Thank you." she said then went out of the room and started to the headmaster's. She knew he knew what had happened already.

Tyler smiled. "Alright we'll looks like Nickie is on a mishion to get you in a room with out fire so wanna walk around tell you find you a good spot?" he asked Hailey. "I bet your hungry." he said.

Deric smiled softly and followed Phoenix out. He followed her toward the headmaster's office. "Hey! Mind if I come with you?" he asked as he started walking alongside her.

Hailey stood up and smiled softly. "You don't have to stay with me you know...I'm sure there are other people who you would rather spend your time with." she whispered softly.

Phoenix looked at him and quickly whipped her eyes. "Oh yes that is fine." she said and smiled. "I am sure you can tell him more then I can." she said. "Thank you for in there."

"No no I like you I think once you get over felling like a mutt you'll be real fun. Don't you worry though we are all like you when we first come." Tyler said. "Come on at least let me show you around." he said. He really wanted to.

Deric looked over at her. "I honestly think that if you were careful for the next couple of days that that girl will get over her fear. She just needs a little time but you saw her. She clearly wants to get over her fear."

Haikey stood up and smiled down at him. "Okay." she said softly. She looked at this guy that was trying hard to make her feel welcomed. "If you are that desperate for my company." she teased.

Phoenix nodded. "I'm always careful." Phoenix said and sighed then knocked on the headmaster's door. Before she knew it the door was opening.

"Oh ouch, blow to the pride." Tyler stood. "Well since you took some pride for me to stick around let's get going." he said and chuckled.

Deric smiled at the headmaster. The headmaster ushered them in and had them sit down across the desk from him. "Now Phoenix why don't you tell me in your own words the problem?"

Hailey giggled and nodded. "Okay. Lead the way." She smiled at him. "Sorry about your pride."

Phoenix sighed. "Come oh you already knw." she said. He like Deric could read minds only the headmaster's mind when a little further and went into seeing events. "Hailey is scared to death of me, she can't sleep in the same room with me."

Tyler chuckloed. "Oh I'll make it up." Tyler chuckled and started to lead her out and to the training rooms.

Deric watched the thoughts run through the headmaster's head. "I believe that you should try to work it out. That's the only way for her to get over her fear of anything." he said as he stood up. "Now children, I believe you should study for your test tomorrow."

Hailey followed him out and looked around the school in awe. There were kids who were just using their powers, not caring that people could see them. She bit her lip.

Phoenix made a face. "What are you both not telling me?" she asked looking at the headmaster but knowing Deric knew.

Tyler looked at her. "What's the matter?" he asked seeing her bitting her bottom lip.

Deric looked at her innocently. "Absolutely nothing." he smiled ather before standing up. "Thanks headmaster." he said as he stood up. He walked over and held the door open for Phoenix.

Hailey looked at him. "Nothing is wrong. It's just like...it's just weird to see people using their powers so openly...what's your power? Super speed?" she asked him.

Phoenix stood there. "Your lying." she said then walked out of the door and shook her head running a hand through her hair. Once the headmaster's door closed Phoenix turned on Deric. "What are you hiding?"

Tyler smirked and chuckled. "Wanna see them?" he asked. He took her hand and took her over to a simulator then hit the start button. "Don't move." he said. Suddenly they where in the middle of a very turned over time square. A truck came flying out of the air and Tyler jumped off another ad lightning fast speed and grabbed the truck and then set it down up right beside Hailey. He smiled and took her hand and ran her over to a building running in and coming back out with a mouse with a camera on it. "I do everything better. I even heal better." he said then the simulation stopped and Tyler grinned. "That's what I do." Tyler loved showing off.

Deric looked at her. "All I can say is that you are the only way that girl is going to survive here." He started walking down the hallway.

Hailey stared at him with wide eyes. "That's amazing." she whispered softly.

Phoenix sighed. "I don't see how... other then half the people in this school know what I can do and are scared to death of me." she said. Her powers where so much more then fire. Her name said it all. "Other then that there is nothing here that will hurt her." she said looking at Deric.

Tyler laughed thanks." he said and showed her out of the simulator. "There are a lot of amazing people here. Like Nickie... her real name is Phoenix and when she first came here she was something else. She is so much more then people take her for. She's more then just able to generate fire." Tyler shrugged. "She's super sweet too."

Deric looked at her and shrugged. "I can only read what he headmaster was thinking and that's what he was thinking. Sorry." He sighed and continued walking. "I'm sorry you are so confused."

Hailey looked at him and nodded. Did he like her? He really was talking her up. She looked away from him and around at all the other people who were here. There was no point in crushing on the guy who was her tour guide. He had to be nice to her. "I'm sure she is nice." Hailey said softly.

Phoenix sighed and smiled lightly, hey no emotion reading." she pushed him softly not even messing up his stride. "I'll be fine I just hate to be the one to tell Hailey that she has to sleep in the room with her worst nightmare and if I... you know in my sleep, it would scare the crap pout of her."

Tyler smiled. "Oh hey Kayle." He said as his girlfriend came over to him. "It usually doesn't take you this long to show in a new kid." she said and went to him and hugged him kissing him. Tyler took a step back. "Kayle." he complained not wanting to make Hailey uncomfortable. "Haliey this is Kayle, my girlfriend." he said and smiled softly his arm going around her waist.

Deric chuckled and gently pushed her back. "It's not my fault. It's like you have a billboard on your forhead that says you are confused. I can't help but read it." he shrugged innocently.

Hailey looked at Kayle and smiled. "Hi. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to keep him for so long. Tyler, thanks do much for all your help, I think that I can find my way back from her." she turned and started walking back toward her room. She kept her head low hoping not to attract any unwanted attention.

Phoenix chuckled and ran a hand through her hair. "Well thanks for making me self conscious now." she said. She smiled and sighed. "I just really wanted to give Hailey some good news." she said.

"Kayle why did you do that, you know what it's like." Tyler hissed at his girlfriend. "She can find some one else besides I thought you where going to take me on a walk." She said back quietly. Tyler shook his head. "You can find someone else to go on a walk with you." he said. "Hailey wait up!" he said and jogged after her. "Hey sorry about her, she get's a little protective but it's no big deal, she'll get se to you. So you've got to be hunry I know I am and I haven't even gotten to that side of the mansion yet."

Deric chuckled and looked over at her. "She will live. I would have to say that the best thing you could do for her is make sure there is a ton of water in the room that she can get to if she gets scared and no fire."

Hailey looked up at him and shook her head. "I don't want to make your girlfriend upset so please go back with her. I'm not hungry. I'm just going to go back to my room and sleep a little." she said softly. "Really, it's fine."
