Here I am

Hailey looked at him as she leaned back against him. "We knew what we were getting into when we signed on for this," she said as she kissed his cheek gently. "I know you would rather be with me but Kayla needs someone she feels safe with at the moment and you are that person," she said as she smiled. "If you didn't go and help her then you wouldn't be the guy I feel in love with."

Deric looked over at her and chuckled. "There hasn't exactly been an opportunity to talk to them about it yet but if you are patient then I promise that I will take care of it as soon as I can," he said as he smiled at her reassuringly.

Anna turned slightly and looked at him. "What should we be heading back?" she asked gently. She didn't want to get stuck on the mountain in the dark.

Tyler smiled kissing hrr shoulder. "I'm glad to hear you say that." He said kissing her softly. "You are so beautiful Hailey. I love you. I couldn't imagine a life without you." He said gathering courage to ask her. When whould they have another chance to be alone like this again.

Emma nodded and smiled. "Do you want some cobbler?" She asked as he finished his food. She smiled and hoped he did because she knew how good it was. She looked around at the table where the kids had been and she grinned happily.

Matt stroked the tips of her hair once. "Another couple moments." Matt said and looked at her then up at the sky. "Maybe we should go camping for a few days here soon." Matt said and smiled.

Hailey smiled as she kissed him gently before pushing herself out of the tub. She got a towel and wrapped it around her body as she dried off before twirling her finger and pulling the water out of her hair. "Tyler, what's wrong? Why are you acting strange?" she asked as she rested her hand on her hip. "Is it because of Kayla? Tyler, I'm not an insecure little girl anymore," she said. "I know that you love me and wouldn't do anything," she said gently as she watched him.

Deric watched her for a moment and he kissed her cheek gently. "Sure, some cobbler sounds really really good," her said as he leaned over and kissed her lightly. Pushing himself up, he smiled happily as he picked up some of the plates. "We need to clean up," he said.

Anna shivered slightly as he touched her hair. "Matt, why did you come back?" she asked as she turned and looked over at him. She watched him for a moment.

Tyler looked at her with a lopsided grin on his face. He got out and dried off kissing her. "Hailey it's not about Kayla." He said and sighed. "I love you. I have since the moment I meet you. I have no idea why or how only that it will never go away." He stooped picked up the box from his jeans and kneeled. "I've been trying to find the perfect time but none seem better than right now. But I also know the only way these nerves will go away is if you say yes." He poped open the lid showing the ring. "Hailey my love will you marry me?"

Emma nodded and grabbed some plates and bit her lip. "I know." She said and headed toward the sink. Emma smiled and set the dishes in the sink getting out a peice of cobbler and warming it then handkng it to Deric with a fork. "I'll get started on these." She said and turned on the water.

Matt looked at her and bit his lip. "Because I finally had an excuse to come back. I had tried so hard to stay away my reserve gave way and all I wanted was you. I came back because I needed you, because I love you. I wasn't strong enough to stay away."

Hailey watched as he knelt down and her hands flew up to her mouth as tears filled her eyes. "Ty," she said as she moved to her knees. She shuffled forwarded until she was pressed against him. "I love you so much," she whispered as she nodded against his chest. "Yes, yes, I'll marry you," she said as she pulled away and looked at him with a ready smile on her face. "I love you so much," she said again.

Deric looked at her and kissed her cheek before opening the dishwasher. "We should probably start with loading this first," he said with a smile on his face as he kissed her cheek gently. He moved and set his cobbler down on the counter before taking a bit and smiling at the flavor.

Anna watched him for a moment and she nodded slightly. Smiling at him, she reached over and kissed his palm gently and smiled as she moved closer to him. She leaned against his chest gently and smiled happily at him.

Tyler beamed as he kissed her then slipped the ring onto her finger. Tyler smiled and caressed her cheeks. He couldn't stop grinning like a fool. "Well I can take a hint but it took forever to find the right ring." He said and smiled kissing her again.

Emma blushed and smiled. Though as he took a bite she beamed and started on the dishes. Shenwas happy to know her food made people happy. All she wanted was to make people happy. Emma grinned and looked over at him.

Matt smiled and loosely wrapped an arm around her waist his head leaning on her shoulder. Matt grinned and ran his thumb gently across her arm. "I am so happy you took me back."

Hailey laughed as she smiled at him. She kissed him again and wrapped her arms around his neck. She pressed her face against his neck as a couple tears leaked out. "Ty," she whispered as she continued to hold onto him. "I love you so much."

Deric smiled as he looked over at her. He movies closer and wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her cheek gently before stepping away and beginning to help with the clean up. "You do make people happy," he whispered to her.

Anna smiled gently at him before she pushed herself up. "Come on, we should head back," she said with a gentle smile on her face as she began to clean up the picnic stuff.

"Hailey I love you so much too." He said and kissed her wipping her eyes. He picked her up twirling her in the air chuckling as their towels dropped. "I guess we should get dressed." He said smirking as he set her down and kissed her cheek.

Emma smiled. "Really?" She asked and rubbed her arm. She would be happy if others where. She had been like that for the longest time. Emma chuckled and handed him a plat to put away as she cleaned it off.

Matt nodded. "Aww do we have to?" He joked and winked helping her pack everything up before he helped her stand and tossd the bag onto his back. "I wish I had the ability to fly sometimes." He said looking out over the lake as a hock fley over head.

Hailey laughed as she kissed him again gently. She pulled away and smiled again before stepping away. Walking to the closet, she began to try some clothes out. "Tyler," she said. "How much did you spend on the ring?" She asked as she watched him.

Deric looked at her for a moment and smiled before kissing her cheek gently and smiling as he walked over to began putting stuff away. He smiled over at her, hearing her thoughts.

Anna watched him for a moment and laughed softly as she kissed him gently before she walked away and began heading down the path. "I wish I had any powers but now, not so much," she said honestly as she continued to walk down the trail.

Tyler looked over at her. "Don't worry hun. I had money set aside for it. We're going to be fine." He said and kissed her cheek as he pulled on some pants. Tyler smiled and pulled on a shirt looking at the time. "I'm gonna see if I can get Kayla to eat something."

Emma smiled to herself as she thought of today. In two days she had more of a life than ever before with... him. Emma shuttered slightly and pushed the thought away.

Matt nodded. "They are a blessing but also a huge responsability. All that power can go to poeples heads." Matt took her hand in his as they walked. He grinned at her.

Hailey nodded as he left, sad that he had to go so soon after well, proposing but she knew he had to do it. "Okay," she said as she kissed him. "I'll see you later," she said with a smile on her face as she winked up at him playfully and kissed him again.

Deric watched her for a moment before frowning at where her thoughts were going. "You are safe here," he told her. "You are safe and you belong here," he told her with a smile on his face.

Anna nodded slightly as she continued to walk down the trail. She ran her fingers through her hair before smiling as they arrived at the cottage. Smiling gently, she looked over at him.

Tyler smiled and pulled her close kissing her deep. He smiled and ran his hands over her sides before kissiny her nose and hand leavijg before he could refuse. He brought in some food for Kayla and sat down waiting for her to wake.

Emma looked up at him and smiled. "Thanks." She said feeling sorry for always bringing it up in her head but it had been ike that for so many years she had to break the cycle.

Matt smiled gently back and opened the door for her. He smiled and walked in with her. He went to put the hings away but took her with him still gemtly holding her hand. He smirked.

Kayla was still sleeping soundly and peacefully, for the first time in a very long time, when he walked in. "The medicine won't begging to wear off for another twenty or so minutes," Sarah told him from her spot in the medical wing.

Deric looked at her for a moment and smiled gently. "There is nothing for you to be sorry about," he said as he leaned over and kissed her cheek gently. "I was merely reminding you," he teased.

Anna followed him before looking up at him, wondering what he was planning on doing next. "Matt..." She began hesitantly, knowing she wasn't ready to become intimate again.

Tyler nodded and placed a slice of cobblrr in front of her. "I know but you need to get to bed. I got this." He kissed her head and smiled. He wondered how she would feel about him and Hailey getting married. He didn't know how to tell her. Maybe that was Hailey's job anyways.

Emma smiled and blushed. "Thanks." She said and handed him some more plates thank goodness they where almost done. Emma ran a hand through her hair as they finished and pulled the cobbler pan out got a fork and sat on the counter eating a slice out of the pan as to not dirty another dish.

Matt looked over at her and went toward the couch. "Yes hun?" He asked sitting and gently pulling her beside him. Matt saw the worry in her eyes and frowned. Did he do something to upset her?

Kayla watched him for a moment and she but her lip. She knew that she wanted him but she also knew that he didn't want her. Sighing, she looked down at the food in front of her and shook her head vigorously as images from the experiments came to her.

Deric watched her with a smile on his face as he walked over and kissed her gently. He held her close with his arms looped loosely around her waist. He never wanted to make her feel like she had to stay. "Anytime," he said as he followed her and sat down.

Anna sat down besides him and shook her head lightly. It is nothing, she said honestly as she leaned her forehead against his shoulder. Well, it was something but she didn't want to say it outloud.

Tyler looked over to see Kayla awake. He walked over and took her hand. "How did you sleep?" He asked and smiked softly hoping to convence her to eat something.

Emma giggled and wrapped her arms around his shoulders she offered him another bite of cobbler. "So tell me something new about you, maybe like what kind of education did you get?" She smiled as she took another bite of cobbler finding that it had been a while since she had eaten something swert and she missed it.

Matt kissec her head. "You can tell me anything. I promise not to get mad orlaugh or anything." He said just wanting her to talk to him again. He missedhow close they had been.

Kayla's looked up at him for a moment before shaking her head slightly. "I'm not hungry" she said as she pushed the food away from her and crossed her arms over her chest.

Deric looked at her for a moment before taking a bit of the cobbler with a smile in his face. "That is really good cobbler," he said before watching her for a moment. "I went to the boarding school my whole life," he said with a shrug. "What about you?"

Anna pulled away lightly and looked up at him. "It's nothing," she said honestly as she leaned her head against his shoulder. She didn't want to talk about it.

Tyler sighed. "Kayla." He ran a hand through his hair. "Why wont you eat? You haven't eaten at least as long as you have been here and I am sure longer. We are already having to keep you on the iv to keep you hydrated." He said and held her hand. "Talk to me Kayla."

"Well I was home schooled by my mother but when I turned 18 she got cancer and died. After that I lost everything and ended up on he streets until I met..." she trailed off. He would know who. She shrugged. "My mother wasn't sacred of me really and I still don't know why. She was an amazing woman." Emma smiled gently and shrugged too giggling.

Matt sighed not going to push. "Alright you don't have to tell me." He said and kissed her lovingly on the head. "So hun, do you want to watch a movie or try and get some sleep?" Matt asked stroking her hair gently.

Kayla looked at him. "They....they would put stuff....in my food." She whispered. Her body began to tremble as she remembered all the different stuff that they had done to her. She pushed the food away and curled up into a ball as she pressed her face against her legs.

Deric smiled at her and wrapped an arm around her as he kissed the top of her head gently. "I'm glad that you had someone like that in your life and....I'm never going to let him hurt you again," he promised. "I'm not going to let anyone hurt you again."

Anna looked over at him and popped up, walking over to the tv. "What do you feel like watching? Action? Drama? Romantic? Comedy?" She asked as she looked over at him with a big smile on her face as she grabbed one of her favorite movies out.

Tyler frowned. "Oh Kayla I am so sorry." He said stroking her hair. "Would it help if I ate some first you can choose what part even cut from the middle if you like." He said and took her hand. "Hey you're not there anymore it's gonna be alright." He sighed now understanding some more.

Emma smiled and nodded. She sighed relaxing into him. "Deric... you know I don't ask but we're going fast... can you tell me about her? What happened?" Emma asked softly stroking his hair.

Matt smirked. "Mmm how abput that one." He said pointing to the one in her hand. He grinned watching her pop it it and he opened his arms for her as she came back and he smiled grabbing the remote.
