Here I am

Kayla looked at him for a moment before she shook her head slightly. Biting her lip, she looked down at the food. Wrapping her arms around her middle, she curled away from the food and pressed her face against the pillow as she shook her head. "I can't," she whispered.

Deric watched her for a moment and he sighed softly. "Her name was Phoenix. She had a lot of....issues," he said softly as he ran his fingers through his hair.

Anna smiled at him and cuddled into his arms as the movie began to play. She glanced up at him and smiled happily before settling so her head was against his chest.

Tyler frowned. "Kayle you'll die... tell me what I can do to help. "Do you want to watch me cook something for you? Whould that help?" He just didn't know what to do.

Emma smiled softly as he opened up to her. "More problems than me?" She asked not able to imagine. Emma finished up eating her fill of cobbler then put it away before going and siting with him. Emma was glad Deric could talk to her.

Matt smiled feeling her eyes on him. He watched the movie his arm over her shoulder like they use to all the time. He smiled as they watches her movie. He was glad she still enjoyed things.

Kayla looked at him for a moment before shaking her head. "I'm not hungry," she said as she looked down at her lap. She pushed the food away from herself and bit her lip. She was still terrified.

Deric looked at her for a moment before shaking his head. "It was different kind of problems. You are working on yours and trying really hard. With Phoenix, I felt like most of the time, I was working harder than she was," he said softly, "and then other times, I didn't work at all."

Anna smiled gently and relaxed against him. Slowly at some point during the movie, she fell asleep. Her soft snore came from her mouth as her head rested against his chest.

Tyler sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He soothed her and put the food in the trash smiling softly. "Okay but just for today. Now relax back. You're safe here." Tyler kissed her head and sighed sitting back in his chair already feeling his eyes getting heavy.

Emma nodded. "Where there any good times?" She asked wondering what agirl had to be going through in order not to want to even deal with her problems. Emma frowned softly at the thought. She must have been through a few hellls to get that cold and hard.

Matt smiled staying still waiting till the end of the movie before turning off the tv. He looked at her and bit his lip his fingers going numb. He was afraid to move her and wake her though. He staied there with her a long time before attempting to carry her in his arms to bed. He went so slow praying he didn't wake her.

Kayla looked over at him for a moment as she but her lip gently. She wanted to feel safe. Biting her lip hard, she ran her fingers through her hair and pressed her face against his palms. Tears filled her eyes as her body shook. Maybe she should die, she thought.

Deric watched her for a moment as he sighed softly and tried his best to relax. "Yeah, there were good times. There were plenty of good times," he said to himself as he looked out of the window. "But she decided that the negative was too much to deal with," he said softly.

Anna shivered in his arms as she pressed her face closer to his chest. Her eyes slowly and tiredly opened as she looked up at him with exhausted eyes. "Matt?" She whispered softly as she pressed her forehead against him and took a deep breath.

Tyler frowned and kissed her head. "Hey you're okay." He said and stroked her hair. He wished there was a better way to comfort her. Tyler stroked her cheek sweetly. "Come on talk to me."

Emma nodded. "I'm sorry Deric. If you don't want to talk about this anymore, we don't have too." Emma said sensative to his feelings. She felt so bad that that woman didn't see the amazing good in him. She wondered if she would ever see how much she wasmissing and would come back.

Matt frowned. "I'm sorry I woke you hunny. I was just trying to lay you in thebed to sleep." He said and laid her down. "Do you think you can go back to sleep?" He whispered.

Kayla looked at him for a moment before her body shuddered. "What do you want me to say?" she whispered. "That's I'm terrified. That every time I close my eyes I am back in that place?" she said.

Deric looked at her for a moment before smiling gently. "Don't worry about it. You have every right to ask about her and I don't blame you for being curious. Let me know if you have any other questions," he said honestly as he stood up and kissed her cheek gently.

Anna looked at him for a moment before nodding tiredly. She cuddled into the pillows and covers and sighed happily. This was good, she thought as she drifted back off to sleep.

"Yes, I want you to tell me anything that jhurt, everything scarey and I want to help you and know what you want, what you need. Kayla I just want you to start realizing that you are not alone." Tyler said and cupped her hand in his.

Emma smiled and nodded she was glad he saw this as her personal growth. "I will. You wil be the first to hear." She said wiggling her eyebrows. "Pun intended." She giggled and stood up. "Will you walk me to my door?" She asked realizing his door was right beside hers.

Matt smiled as he laid with her the covers over them. He watched her slep for awhile before he closed his eyes and easily falling asleep. Tomorrow he had to plan something like today.

Kayla felt tears fill her eyes as she looked away. "I thought they were going to kill me. They did experiments and I wanted to die. They thought I knew where you had gone," she whispered as tears ran down her cheeks.

Deric laughed as he rolled his eyes at her pun. "That was sssoooo good," he said teasingly before nodding. He smiled at her as he laced her fingers with his and opened her door for her. "There you are," he said with a smile on her face as he kissed her cheek.

Anna woke up slowly the next morning and she stretched slightly. Looking around, she saw Matt there and she bit her lip gently. She turned slightly and tried to relax.

Tyler frowned and moved into her bed and wrapped her in his arm stroking her hair. He might need to get Deric or Matt to repress the memories. He knew it was dangerous but she was going to die if she didn't eat. Tyler kissed her head. "I'm sorry Kayla." He said frowning. How had he been so stupid?

Emma laughed and walked with him. She smiled as he opened the door and kissed her cheek. She blushed and then hugged him. "Thanks Deric." She said and kissed his cheek before letting go. She grabbed the door and slowly started to close it.

Matt slept for a while longer before waking and seeing Anna awake. "Good morning love, how long have you been up?" He asked and stroked her hair
laying with the ends.

Kayla pressed her face against his chest as tears ran down her face. "They, they made me....they forced me to...Ty, they though that I knew....I was so scared all the time," she whispered as tears ran down her face. "I'm so scared," she whispered as tears ran down her face.

Deric watched her for a moment and he smiled gently at her. He turned and walked back to his room. Going inside, he sat down and sighed softly. This is crazy, he thought to himself as he smiled softly thinking about Emma. She was great, he thought.

Anna smiled gently at him and shrugged. "Not too long," she said as she leaned he head against his chest gently and winked playfully. She kissed him lightly.

Tyler stroked her hair. "Shh. You can't hurt you anymore. I'm here it's okay." He said wondering now how in the world she had found them and how she got here. Hewas starting to worry that things where not all that they seemed. What was he going to dowith Kayla.

Emma got ready for bed before slipping in and curling up in a ball leaving a lamp on. She didn't like the dark, not unless there where stars. Emmasighed thinking about how wonderful today was.

Matt smiled and only gently kissed her back cupping her cheek grinning like crazy. He kissed her head and held her close butnot to tight so she could move. "I love you Anna."

Kayla tried her best to stop crying before she looked at him. "Ty, you have to get out of here," she whispered. "Take everyone and leave. I'm so sorry. Ease don't hate me," she whispered before there was a snap and she went completely limp.

Deric sighed softly as he pushed himself up. He walked to his bathroom and took a shower, allowing the water to run over his body. It was nice to relax, he thought.

Anna smiled at him and winked playfully as she kissed his cheek gently before he relaxed happily. He sighed softly again as he thought about how the day had gone.

Tyler looked down at her and frowned. "Kayla?" He heard her heart stop and he felt his heart beat fast. He conected to Deric hoping he was listening relaying his last minutes as he ran to Hailey. "Get our kids and run." He kissed her. "Please don't argue." He said and ran pff pulling the fire alarm.

Emma came out of her room wondering what the hell was going on. She had put on her cloths and shkes incase here was a fire. She grabbed Hailey's necklace close and a jacket.

Matt smiled and kissed her nose. "So do you want to go for a swim again? He asked thinking of the cristal blue water.

Hailey's eyes widened but seeing Tyler's anxiety, she nodded. Running to Herb and Sarah, she yelled at them to leave. She got Emma too as they ran toward the exit. Getting out, her eyes widened when she saw trucks and helicopters racing toward them. Hailey's eyes widened for a moment before she stood in front of her family. "Leave Herb! Get your sister out of here!" she yelled as she threw a waterfall at one of the trucks. She wasn't letting her family get caught.

Deric saw what was happening and although all he wanted to do was find Emma, he went and helped the younger kids get out and made everyone run.

Anna looked at him before her eyes widened. "Matt? Isn't that were the mansion is?" she asked as she pointed to the red and orange and yellow horizon.

Tyler ran through the halls. He ran bu Deric and stopped. "Go I got the last of them." He said. They had practised this situation many times. It had been one of the first thing hey had taught the kids. Theu would not be caught off gaurd again. He picked up some smaller kids runnimg out.

Emma was scared. Not for her, she was use to danger but the kids where in there. She started to hyperventilate and to shake. She place her hand to he gorund and it started to shake. The ground beneith one of the vehicles concaved and the entire truck went down 15 feet. Emma gasped teaes filling her eyes. She hoped she hadn't hurt anyone.

Matt looked over and frowned. He ran into the house picking up his phone tyring to call Hailey. He cursed when there was no answer. He looked at Anna. It was not safe for her to bo back and he thought of Adam. Whould he have honestly brought this to them. Matt was torn for the first time in a long time between his love and his sister. He should take Anna and run now before they find them. Matt looked at his beautiful Anna as if she had the answers.

Hailey watched before she grabbed Emma's arm. "Come on," she said as she propelled the other woman in front of her as they ran. Looking at Herb, she tried to get everyone out safely. Sighing deeply, she ran her fingers through her hair as she continued to run through the forest.

Deric watched them and nodded as he ran. He took some more of the kid's hands as they all ran toward safety. He saw the trucks fall and his eyes widened slightly. "Fuck," he thought as he continued to run. "Come on Emma, keep it together," he said as he continued to move into the forest.

Anna looked at him as tears filled her eyes. "Go Matt, you have to go help them," she whispered as she looked at him. "You have to go help them," she said honestly as she smiled at him gently. "I love you," she said as she bit her lip gently. "Go, please, you need to go and get them," she said.

Emma looked up as Hailey propelled her forward. She ran her mind wondeeing if everyone got out, if Deric got out. She searched the earth for somewhere to hide. "There is a cave about a mile and a half from here." She said hoping Hailey would hear her.

Tyler stayed with Deric and the kids. How had he been so stupid. Of course she had been bugged. He was angry and upset. He watched an old friend be murdered in front of his eyes to save him and his family. Tyler was really quiet.

Matt went to her rubbing her arms. "It's to late. By the time I get there there will be nothing but military men ransacking the place. It is better if I get you to safety and we will meet up with my sister another time." He kissed her head. "Come on we need to pack up in a hurry." He said and walked in with her startingmto pack a bag for hi, and a bag dor her. She would how see what his life had been like and what he had tried to shelter her from. "I should have never let them stay at your place Anna. It was to dangerous for you."

Hailey looked at Emma and nodded as she ran. Looking at Herb, she smiled at him gently. "Go, keep Emma and your sister safe," she said as she verged off. She moved to groups of kids to guide them away from the soldiers. Seeing a couple of them losing the military using their powers, she had to admit she was a little proud.

Deric looked at Tyler and shook his head. Just get everyone out. You never could have known. Don't blame yourself, just get out of here he sent his thoughts to Tyler as he propelled more and more kids in front of him. Sighing softly, he continued to run and try to get the kids out and home free.

She got out all of the non perishable food and looked at him. "It can't hurt to bring this with us," she said honestly as she ran her fingers through her hair.

Hailey looked at Emma and nodded as she ran. Looking at Herb, she smiled at him gently. "Go, keep Emma and your sister safe," she said as she verged off.
