Here I am

Emma picked up one of the smaller kids that was having a hard time and she kept running. She only wanted to get everyone safe. Emma ran into the cave and set the child down. She ussured everyone in starting to make vines grow around the cave so when everyone was in they would be safe.

Tyler made sure everyone was accounted for. And they ran toward where Hailey had gone. He was sick ober what they had done to her. They must have done major surgeries to implant all of those thing in her mind. He didn't know humans could make things like that. They needed to be more careful from now on because unfortunately he was thinking a gifted person was allied with the humans, maybe more than a few.

Matt looked at herand kissed her head. "Somewhere safe." He said nodding at her idea. "It is a good idea." He said looking at his watch. He finished paking and grabbed her hand. "Time to go." He said and hrabbed the keys and put a hat over her head. He sighed looking at her. I never should have gotten you involved." He said and got in the car driving toward a small town he had been in once where he worked as a car dealer for the best cheap cars around. They needed a new car, one that would blend in. One that was sure not to have a tracker.

Hailey ran through getting the last of the children before she made a slide of ice to get them down to a safe house quickly. She destroyed the ice before she looked up. They were coming and she took a deep breath. Gathering as much water as she could, she created a storm. She wanted them to be lost in it because then they would lose the mutants. This needed to end for tonight, she decided as she tried to control the storm.

Deric felt the storm coming and he looked up. "Fuck!" he yelled when he saw the storm was concentrated to a central blast. "Who fucking knew," he thought out loud as he watched the other kids. Getting them into the safe house, he sighed softly. Looking at the kids, he put the oldest in charge before he ran out. Hailey was going to lose control, he thought to Tyler. The storm was too big, he hoped that everyone was going to be okay.

Anna looked at him for a moment. "Don't you ever fucking say that," she said. "I want you with all of this," she said as she gestured around before getting out of the car. She looked at him and motioned toward the building. "You should go get them and I will find a car without a tracker," she said as she began looking around. "Go talk to them about the car," she said as she motioned toward the people watching them.

Emma felt the storm and stepped outside next to Hailey. She could help. Emma sat down and slowly forced the wind to slow. Emma was strong though she couldn't entirly dissipate the storm. "Hailey you have to relax. Elements are very sensative to the emotions." Emma said she bit her lip. Think of your family, think good things."

Tyler frowned. He got the kids all safe and ran to her. He stood beside her. "I know you can do it Hailey. Make it go away." He said softly and looked at her. Tyler put a hand on her back. "You are strong Hailey, stronher then anyone I know." He assured her. "Everyone is safe."

Matt sighed. He knew she wouldn't like it but it was true now she was in danger and he never wanted that for her. Matt talked to the sells men and they bought a card. Before they knew it they where back on the road. Matt said. "All I have ever wanted was to keep you safe and I failed." Matt said looking at her.

Deric watched as the storm got worse and he sighed softly. This was going to be crazy, he thought as he moved the kids into the basement of the safe house in order to give them protection from the storm but also the military men who were chasing them. He watched as the sky got darker and darker before a flash of lightening hit the ground and he sighed softly. This wasn't going to end well, he thought.

Hailey looked at them for a moment and shook her head. "I can handle it. Just a little longer, they will lose our position," she said as she looked at the sky and kept her hands up toward it. "I can do it," she whispered as she closed her eyes and waited. After a moment, she couldn't sense anyone else in the storm besides them and she let her hands fall. Slowly the storm began to dissipate and she let out a sigh.

Anna looked at him and reached over. She rested her hand on his thigh gently. "I never asked you to protect me. Don't you think that is a choice that I get to make for myself?" she asked gently. "I want to be with you, no matter what happens," she said as she watched him before looking out the window. "I love you," she said, "and that is never going to change," she said honestly.

Tyler stood there watching hw love of his life creating a terrifying but yet amazing storm. He sighed as it ended and he picked her up thinking that she had to be tired after that. He kisses her head. "You are amazing." He said and took her toward the safe house.

Emma stood after the storm passed and shw bit her lip. She stood theee looking at the earth. How could so much pain and evil exists in a world so beautiful. She watxhed the moon starting to set and the sun rising setting a red glow to the sky. She sighed rubbing her bare arms.

Matt sighed and nodded. He remembered Hailey talking about a safe house and he was gonna give it a day or two before attempting to head back that way. Matt looked at Anna and nodded. "But I never asked, I just barged in rhen you where sucked into this." He said softly and took her hand kissing it. "I love you too."

Deric sensed that Emma was still outside and so he left the kids. Seeing Tyler with Hailey, he nodded toward him before he continued walking out. Seeing her against the sunset, he smiled gently and sat down next to her. "Hey," he said softly and he smiled gently over at her. "How are you?" He asked gently as he looked at her. "I'm sorry for what happened," he said to her gently.

Hailey leaned her head against his chest and her eyes flickered shut. "Tyler," she whispered softly against his skin as her eyes shut. "I'm tired," she whispered as she pressed her face closer to him and her lips brushed against his neck. "Is everyone okay?" She asked worriedly as she fought to stay awake and watch him.

Anna watched him closely as she sighed softly. "Matt, do you remember how we met?" She asked gently. "That moment, the moment I saw you, I wanted to be with you. I love you and I didn't care about any of your baggage. I just wish that you could see that. You never had to ask because I had already made that choice. Matt? Tell me what ran through your head when we met?"

Emma looked over at Deric and smiled softly. She put her hand over his. "It's alright." She said looking tired. "It was terrifying but Hailey really is amazing. I didn't know she had that much power in her.i guess I should have." Emma said and smiled gently. "Isn't it dangerous to stay here?" She asked.

Tyler kissed her head. "I know baby, everyone is safe. Now sleep. It's okay." He said and laid her down on the bed wich was more like a cot. He kissed her head and looked around making sure everyone was accounted for and he saw his children. He went over and hugged hem both kissing their heads. "You did good."

Matt looked over at her. He sighed. "I thought that I was being taken to heaven by the prettiest angel. I had been running so long that when I found you I was home and you smiled even when I stuttered to ask your name."

Deric watched her for a moment before nodding slightly. "It wasn't only her. I know you helped her although you might not realize how much," he said honestly as he looked up at the sky before pushing himself up. "It isn't safe here, we should head back inside," he said to her gently as he smiled lightly. "Come on."

Hailey's eyes shut and she drifted off into a restless sleep. Her family was being attacked and she wasn't able to fight them off. All her children were taken and then, Tyler was killed in front of her. She woke up in a cold sweat and panting.

Anna looked at him and laughed softly before she looked out the window with a gentle smile on her face. "So," she said softly. "What are we going to do now?" She questioned as she turned and looked owe at him again.

Emma looked over at her and bit her lip. She smiled thinking how nice it would be but she didn't think it had much to do with her but Emma never let herself feel what Hailey did. It would be much to dangerous to do that. Emma nodded and stood with Deric smiling softly back at him. She walked into the hose with him being sure the children where safe and tucking them in for a little nap when she could. It was still early morning.

Tyler was quickly by her side and took her hand. "Hailey. Shh darling it's okay it was only a dream. Come on sweetheart relax." He said andpicked her up taking her somewhere more privet and sat down with her in his lap. He kissed her head rocking her.

Matt nodded. "Now we stay low. Make sure no one is tracking us, make sure that no one is following and once it seems safe we will sneak away to go see if we can meet up with Hailey." Matr said and kissed her hand. "Looks like a lot of down time."

Deric looked over at Emma and wondered if she knew that he could read her kind. Seeing her train of thought, he quickly shut his mind to it, not wanting to invade her privacy. Kneeling down, he smiled at the kids and got them calm before he glanced over at Emma again and stood up. "How are you feeling?" He asked gently as he walked over and touched her shoulder lightly. "I know this isn't exactly what you had in mind when you came to the school," he said softly.

Hailey pressed her face against his shoulder and held onto him for dear life. "Ty," she whispered before she looked up and at him. "What are we going to do now?" She asked gently. She felt almost hopeless after everything that had happened.

Anna glanced over at him before nodding. "Alright," she said before she thought for a moment. "Matt, this place is less than thirty minutes from my house. How long did you stay in places close to me? You could have gone anywhere in the world?" She asked curiously.

Emma smiled softly. "I am tired but otherwise I feel fine why? Are you okay?" She asked and touched his arm. Emma wanted ti be sure that he was alright too. It was so nice to know that you had people to look out for you. Emma sat with him watching the children eaither sleep or whisper quietly to one another.

Tyler kissed her softly on the head. "We are going to stick together. Just like we always do, alright?" He ran a hand through her hair. "There now it's all going to be alright trust me. Tyler said amazed how they never seemed to get a break and it was one bad event after he next.

Matt sighed. I stayed close for almost a year until I spotted people looking for me then I realized how dangerous it was for me to even stay close. I never stoppped loving you Anna." Matt said as they relaxed back intolittle place.

Deric looked over at her for a moment before nodding slightly. He wanted to reassure her but really his thoughts were consumed with Phoenix. She was the only one who knew where they were and who had left recently. Had they got her? he thought before shaking his head and trying to focus on the problems at hand.

Hailey looked up at him for a moment before nodding slightly. There was still doubt in her eyes but she knew she needed to hide it. Looking up, she smiled gently when Herb and Sarah came in and they launched themselves into her arms. She held her kids close to her.

Anna looked over at him for a moment. "Wait for a year? So you were here when I tried dating again?" she asked curiously as she watched him closely for any kind of reaction.

Emma could see the worry on his face and a look that she couldn't quite makeout before it vanished. She sighed feeling another yawn coming as she tried to stay awake and think of a way to help them all. After all they had done so much for her. She wondered if Matt and Anna would be alright. Emma hooed that they didn't come back and get caught. That would be the worst.

Tyler kissed each one of their heads and sat down with them knowing that his family was scared. It angered Tyler to no end but there wasn't anything that he could do. Tyler wished that there was more he could do.

Matt nodded and ran a hand through his hair stressed egen by the thought. "I saw them come and go. I even wated the ones that really bothered me and scared off the ones that where dangerous. I know I shouldn't have but I couldn't help it. I left when it looked like you found someone nice."

Deric looked at her for a moment and he reached out. He touched the back of her hand gently before running his fingers through her hair lightly. "It's going to be okay, he whispered gently to her as he tried to convince them both that it was actually going to be okay. He took a deep breath and slowly released it.

Hailey reached up and touched his cheek gently. "I love you," she mouthed to him before kissing him. She leaned her head against his chest and listened to his heartbeat, allowing it to calm her down.

Anna watched him for a moment. "Dan..." she stated, knowing that was the person he had left for. "How did you scare them away" she asked with a teasing smile on her face as she waited for him to tell her what he had done.

Emma nodded and leaned into his side. She could tell he was worried but doubted he would share. Emma closed her eyes and leaned into him with a yawn. She wondered what it would be like to be loved by him. She wanted to know what it would feel like to have his lips pressed to hers. Emma hoped that once everything settled down that maybe they could start something new together.

Tyler smiled. "I love you." He mouthed back. Tyler kissed her head relaxing with their family. Tyler hugged her closs and his two wonderful kids. He loved them so very much and would do anything to make them feel safe again.

Matt nodded. "Well the only way I know how I guess." He said and smiked kissing her head. "What ever happened to Dan?" He asked still thinking her life would be better off not endangered by all this.

Deric looked over at her for a moment and leaned over so his lips wold barely brush against her ear as she spoke. "You are thinking so intensely that it feels like you are yelling at me," he said gently. He didn't want to scare her but he wanted her to know that he would hear everything that she was saying.

Hailey watched him for a moment before smiling gently. "I love you," she said as if mouthing it before wasn't enough. She needed him as much as he needed her, she thought for a moment as she leaned over and cupped his cheek gently.

Anna looked at him for a moment. "He broke up with me. We went on a date and well, I thought I saw you in the corner and I went after you. He said he wouldn't be compared to you for the rest of his life," she said softly.

Emma blush. "Sorry." She whispered and tried not to think for a moment as she rested her head against his shoulder. "Does everyone yell? Do you hear it all or can you kind of ignore most people?" She asked softly as she looked uu at him. Emma tried not to be embaressed with what he heard from her thoughts. She was sure he had heard worse.

Tyler smiled and pressed her hand against his cheek more with his hand. He wanted this to be over to have a little place of their own. He knew Hailey was passionate about all of these kids and he cared for them too. But more then anything he desperately wanted a little place away from others where they could live a new life as a family, safe.

Matt frowned. He hadn't been at the restaurant but he understood the guys logic. "I am sorry Anna." He whispered again and kissed her head and then her lips softly as they snuggled in together.

Deric looked over at her for a moment and thought about his answer. "Well, sometimes it is easy to block people out but when I am sitting right next to someone, it is harder. It's the same kinda thing like she you try ad block out someone who it talking to you," he said as he watched her. "You get better at it the more you do it," he said.

Hailey looked at him for a moment before kissing him gently. "Penny for your thoughts?" she asked. She poked his cheek playfully before looking up when Herb and Sarah came in. She smiled at them and brought them close to her before smiling over at Tyler.

Anna shrugged before smiling up at him. "He was right to do it and I'm glad he did because I ended up back here. Right were I am supposed to be," she said as she leaned up and kissed him before leaning her head against his shoulder.

Emma nodded and bit her lip. "Okay." she said and sighed. "What was she like?" she asked softly. Emma wondered if he missed her. It seemed like he would. What could have happened to them? Emma sighed in her mind quieting it to listen. There was always a light hum in her mind though. It was soothing like a breeze through trees.

Tyler smiled and kissed her head. He smiled as the kids came and he hugged them all so close. "I am very lucky." he said to Hailey knowing that she would agree with him. He smoothed her hair back and kissed her head.

Matt smiled softly and held her close to his side. "You should try and get some rest. It is going to be a long couple of weeks." he said glad Anna was getting better now. He had been worried about her for a while.
