The Revolution

Elizabeth shook her head. "They can't work here but there is a old home in the forest where they can go. They can stay there, free, as long as they promised not to rebel they can stay there." She bit her bottom lip, nervous about it. "But I swear if I hear anything about revolting I will turn you and them in as fast as I can. I refuse to go back to life before. I want things to get better for everyone but not enough to go back to my old life." Elizabeth would help them but she was serious about the revolting thing. "Do you understand me?"

Xhex nodded, "I do. I don't want to see anymore hurt, Elizabeth." He held his hand out further, "So, are we a team? Will you help me save not just my people, but your own? I want an end to slavery." Sure, he hated lying to her. He was totally going to recruit those who could fight. He wasn't going to live under the human's law for much longer. This was going to end. Even if he had to lie to end it.

Elizabeth hesitated for a moment before taking his hand tightly. Her heart was racing and her mind was screaming at her, telling her that it wasn't a good idea. Yet Elizabeth wanted to do this. She wanted to make things better. She had always known that once she was queen, slavery would no longer be a thing. Though what she was going to d was send them somewhere else, far, far away to govern themselves. She wanted no part of them. It was still her plan but she might as well get started to show the vampires that she meant no harm. Hopefully they'll see she was trying to help. "We're a team." She said softly. She didn't trust him, but she wanted to work with him.

Xhex smiled, "Good. And if anyone - vampire or human - forces you into anything then you tell me. Bullying and abuse is unacceptable." Standing, and using their clasped hands to lift her as well, "Trust me," he said softly, "I'm here to help you." Then he grinned, "I guess you bought the right slave at that auction, huh?" With a last squeeze of his hand he let hers go, "So, how do we find the families who are abusing their slaves? Is there some sort of database we can access?"

"We honestly already try to keep the abuse to a minimum but we don't allow the vampires to know that. There are files for those who have crossed our policies and we check up on them every once in a while. Of course there are the one timers but then there are the files for the constant offenders. I can get the files." Her father had put this policy into place because he wanted to give the vampires less reasons to rebel. He knew that was the reason of many to fight because of their terrible treatment. He was only making their lives better so he wouldn't have to deal with a war.

Xhex nodded, not fully believing Elizabeth's words, "Then let's go. I wanna check on these ''repeat offenders' myself." He stepped back and let Elizabeth lead the way. Sure, he felt a bit bad for using her to get what he needed, but Xhex wasn't going to let his sympathies get in the way of his revenge. He'd free these vampires, recruit them to his side, then he'd go after Hallows. Xhex could hardly wait to feel that human's blood on his hands, but at the moment he had to lie low. Gain Hollows' and his daughter's trust.

"You're not allowed down there." Elizabeth told him. "I mean come on they are files, important files that vampires aren't even suppose to know about. Though I can bring them up after dinner. No one will be suspicious of me. Especially since I will be the next to take over." Everyone expected the princess to look at old cases and get a feel for how things were done. She had done it before for her classes anyways. "You'll just have to wait until then." She ran her fingers through her hair, trying to untangle it. Her eyes were still red and puffy bit she was beginning to feel a little better. Not much but a little.

Xhex sighed. He didn't like the idea of her getting the files alone. She could switch them out, could add in false information, or even remove any pertinent information. Still, he didn't really have a choice at the moment so he nodded, "Alright. Is there somewhere private we can meet after dinner? Somewhere no one will see us or hear us?"At the moment he wanted all others ignorant about what they were planning. Once he learned which vampires here were friends and which were enemies he'd start spreading word around about the revolution. Until then he wanted complete silence. He knew Elizabeth wouldn't mention anything. She was so afraid of vampires and she knew what would happen to her if anyone found out about her involvement. Taking a good look at her though Xhex shook his head, "Elizabeth... we need to get you cleaned up. Anyone who sees you will know you were crying and they'll immediately blame me." even if he was, technically, at fault, "Where's the nearest bathroom?"

Elizabeth let out a small sigh when he mentioned how terrible she looked. She rubbed her cheek a little bit before walking over to a door and opening it up. Inside was a very large bathroom. "It's in here." She murmured before crossing her arms and looking to the side. Elizabeth then began to think of a place they could talk. One came to her mind immediately, her hiding place. Though there was no way she was bringing him there. That was her place, her place to relax and be safe. To press pause on the world. Though the issue was that she couldn't think of another place where people may not walk in. "We could go back to the rooms from earlier. People may walk in but there is nothing I can do about that. She glanced over to see his reaction.

Xhex had followed her into the bathroom, shaking his head at her statement, "No. I don't want anyone to know, Elizabeth." He bent down and searched through the cabinets, retrieving a small wash cloth. He stood and turned on the water, soaking the cloth when it was warm, "We can't risk anyone finding out. I'll be sentenced to death immediately and you..." he wrung out the water then turned to her, gently cleaning her face, "you'll probably get worse treatment." Especially with her being the next ruler... "Close your eyes," he said softly before wiping the cloth along her lids. Once done he laid the cloth out on the sink and gave her a small smile, "There. You look better." He stepped away from the mirror so she could see."

Elizabeth slowly opened up her eyes once he finished. He looked at herself in the mirror before rubbing her cheeks a little bit, deciding weather or not to fix her make up. She looked a lot better than before, but still a little sad and now worried. "Thanks." She murmured as she stepped away from the mirror. "We could meet in the woods where the vampires would be hidden." Elizabeth told him. "I could always just got out riding." Sure it wasn't the closest place, but it was still better than bringing him to her hiding spot. "This may not be as easy as you think it will be."

Xhex shrugged, "Nothing right is easy, is it?" He nodded to her, "The place in the woods is fine. You'll get the riles, then tell you father or whoever keeps tabs on you that you'd like to go for a ride." Then he frowned, "Wait... am I supposed to stay with you at all times?" It would actually make things easier. If that was the case then it wouldn't be odd that they went off and rode together, "Or not? 'Cause if not then I need to figure out how I'm gonna sneak away." Then his brow furrowed in thought, "Also, how long do you typically stay out riding? We don't want to alter that time too long or others will start to get suspicious."

"I normally stay out in the woods for an hour or two, depending on how much I want to practice my riding." Alexandria glanced over at the time before running a hand through her hair. It was basically dinner time and she would be expected down in a few minutes. "And you are expected to be with me at all times unless I say so." She turned around so her back was to Xhex. Going over to her closet, Alexandria grabbed her riding gear, laid it out before turning back to him. "We need to head downstairs now. It's time for dinner and it will look odd if I am not down there at the right time."

Xhex watched her moving around, taking in her words. As she mentioned going downstairs he looked at the common clothes the slavers had given him and sent her an arched look, "Is this appropriate for dinner?" He had no clue how formal her family was, no clue how to even act at a family dinner. He sighed, "And at least that will give us a little bit to look over the files. How long does it take to get to that place anyways?"

"Your clothes are appropriate for now, but tomorrow you'll be getting what you are really suppose to wear." Alexandria's family was extremely formal. Everything had to be perfect because the whole nation looked up to them for safety and guidance. "And it takes about twenty minutes to get there." She said before walking out of the room and heading down the stairs.

((I thought her name was Elizabeth? I'm really bad with names so could be wrong...))

Xhex followed Alexandria down the stairs, "So what outfit will I be forced to wear?" He asked idly, "Because I'm telling you now, I won't walk around in a suit or tuxedo. Absolutely not. Might as well behead me now." He'd walk around naked before getting that formal he thought as they continued their way to the dining hall. "And twenty minutes isn't bad. That gives us plenty of time." Of course, now that they were in more frequented halls, he didn't really want to continue talking about their rescue plan, so he switched the subject again, "By the way... are there small humans running around here?" He wasn't good with kids. They tended to be scared of him - for some unknown reason - and always freaked him out with their big tearful eyes.

If you didn't follow rules, and her father found out, he would kill you or punish you. Though he glanced bad at Xhex with slight confusion until she realized what he was talking about. "No we don't have children running around here usually. Sometimes we will come over. Now can you please hush now." Elizabeth walked up to the dining room door, where a slave opened the door for her. She headed inside and over to her seat, waiting for Xhex to pull her seat out for her.

Xhe sighed just as they got to the dinning room. He kept his pace back behind Elizabeth until they got to the table. Once there he reluctantly pulled out her chair, but he did it and he did it with all the politeness the slave school had taught him. What they didn't teach him, though, was what to do next. He'd gone to a few different 'training schools'. He'd gotten different info at each. Some houses preferred that the slave sit and the table and not eat, some wanted them to eat. Others just wanted their slaves to stand back against the wall. So what type of family was this one?

Her mother's slave pulled out her chair before sitting down next to her. Elizabeth expected Xhex to do the same. They allowed the vampires to sit at the tabs but they were not to eat. Though if they were to have company over, then they were to be against the wall, wishing for them to finish or for orders to be given. They would feed Xhex his....red substance after she was finish eating. Once everyone was seated, three vampires came out, laying plates in front of the family.
