One Defense

Sammie nodded slightly to his question before looking up at him. She moved her hands so he could see them before signing Why do you never ask what made my sister and I like this?. Her hands fell back down and she watched him curiously.

Alex looked over at her before shaking his head slightly. "Outside, always outside if given the choice," he said honestly as he began heading toward the doors. Walking out and feeling the sunshine on his face, he smiled happily and sighed.

Jake watched her and smiled and said, "Because, it's not my place to ask." He caressed her cheek gently and looked down at her sweetly. He then said, "I don't want to ask in case it upsets you." He sighed and set his forehead on hers and said, "We all have secrets " his soft breath landed on we face.

Anya nodded. She then said, "Come on." She tugged his hand along with her as she walked. She ran a hand through her hair with her free hand. She saw his smile and nodded. She looked over and saw a pretty little Jay Bird. She smiled softly. Her hand in his relaxed as she watched the things around her. She didn't feel so paranoid. She didn't even notice getting closer to him.

Sammie looked up at him and nodded slightly as she leaned her head against the pillow. She smiled gently as she looked away. The eye contact and the look he had in his eye was too intense for her at the moment. She bit her lip gently and snuck a glance up at him.

Alex lookked over at her with a soft smile on his face before looking around at the town. This was good, he thought to himself. The town was happy and alive and busy as usual and it was nice, he liked just watching it all happen. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze.

He smiled. He then closed his eyes and relaxed. He looked content just laying there with her. He felt eyes on him but kept himself right there. His dark hair fell into his face a little bit.

Anya looked at the town and just watched. It was pretty from here. She felt him give her hand a squeeze but just kept how she was. It had been a long time since any of this happened and she feared she would screw it up.

Sammie sighed softly after a moment and she kissed him again gently. Relaxing against him, she winked teasingly as she kissed him a bit more deeply, wondering if this was okay. She ran her hands over his hair gently and smiled.

Alex glanced over at her and smiled gently as they continued to walk through the town. It was beautiful out, he thought with a small smile on his face as he winked teasingly at her and kissed her cheek gently.

Jake chuckled and kissed her back. He saw her wink and grinned. He kissed her back deeply his hands going to wrap themselves around her waist to bring her closer. He felt her hands in his hair and smiled again.

Anya watched the lights. She didn't like staying in one place for too long though. She itched to keep walking. She saw the wink and raised an eyebrow. She felt him kiss her cheek and smiles softly. She looked around as she walked.

Sammie smiled and enjoyed kissing him before she leaned back and smiled at him gently. Kissing his cheek gently, she kissed down his jawline and winked playfully.

Alex chucked before he pulled her hand gently and continued walking down the street. "I should probably head back at some point," he said to himself thoughtfully.

Jake smiled and felt her kiss his face and laughed. He planted a kiss on her forehead an said, "I feel better." He smiles gently down at her, his smile a bit lopsided.

Anya felt him tug in her hand and walked along with him. She heard him and said, "Why? I told the nurse you were going on a walk." She said. She ran a hand through her hair and watched him.

Sammie smiled at him and kissed him lightly before she moved slightly and slid off the bed. Standing up, she signed to him, eating before moving toward the door. "I'll be right back," she said softly with a blush before walking out.

Alex chuckled. "I'm thinking because I got stabbed by a psychology yesterday," he said before he sighed softly. "Please, I'm already tired and my side hurts," he said softly with a sigh.

Jake smiled happily. He closed his eyes. He felt her get up and blinked. He watched her and nodded. He watched her leave and then sat up. He winced as he did so. He yawned softly and winced again.

Anya nodded. She heard him and looked at him and murmured, "It's going to help you to walk. Shouldn't do it so much now, but soon you're gonna have to walk because it'll ease the pain." She said talking as if she knew all about it. Her eyes clouded and then she looked away and said, "Come on." She walked with him keeping her eyes off him.

Sammie got some food before bringing it back into the room. sorry it isn't the best but it is hospital food so I got the good stuff, I think she signed to him after putting the tray down on his bed and looking at him.

Alex nodded stiffly and watched her for a moment before he continued walking next to her. He sighed softly as the more they walked the more sweat dripped down his face and the more he needed support.

Anya saw a bench and guided him over. She then sat him down. She remained standing and took off her shirt, leaving her in her tank. She then wadded up her t-shirt and dabbed his forehead gently. She pushed his hair back while doing so.

Sammie looked at him and smiled before shaking her head. She wasn't very much hungry so she motioned for him to eat before smiling gently as she relaxed back and enjoyed the feeling of just being near him. It felt nice, safe, it felt very safe.

Alex sighed as he leaned his head back and looked at her for a moment. "You are something else," he said as he sucked in some air as his side throbbed with pain.

Jake smiled and said, "At least mooch off my plate just a little." He told her. He looked down at the food and took small bites of food. He sighed and said, "I've always hated the hospital."

Anya raised an eyebrow and kept doing what she was doing. "What makes you say that?" She asked him. She stopped for a moment so she cos look him in the eyes as she waited for his reply. Her eyes seemed to glow from the light.

Sammie smiled gently with a big smile on her face. She kissed his cheek gently and took a piece of bread and began to nibble on it lightly as she leaned against the back of the chair.

Alex watched her. "Because you are beautiful and smart and strong and amazing and great and most people are only like two of three of those things," he said with a teasing smile.

Jake smiled happily when she did indeed mooch of his plate. He seemed content just like that. He didn't eat a lot, but he did eat. That was a plus. He'd get his appetite back soon enough. He just didn't know when that would be.

Anya arched her eyebrow further. She then said, "I'm just me. Nothing special about me." She continued to wipe his forehead off gently. Her fingers brushing against his skin as she did so. She didn't mind helping. She knew Sammie was with Jake and knew he would take care of her.

Sammie looked at him and watched him eat some before she moved the plate aside so she could take up her place on the bed next to I'm. She didn't know why she couldn't trust most people and yet she trusted him almost instantly.

Alex looked at her and smiled gently as he kissed her cheek. "Thanks for helping," he said softly as he leaned back before grimacing at the pain again. "This isn't good." He said softly.

Jake smiled an pulled her very to him an held her close liking the feel of her. He grinned gently and began to tickle her and laughed. He smirked and kept it up a laugh of joy escaping his lips.

Anya heard him and said, "Who else is going to do it?" She felt him kiss her cheek and ignored the blush. She helped him up and then helped him to his room. Once there, she helped him in the bed and put his IV back in. The morphine would kick in soon. She sighed and sat down on the side of the bed.
