One Defense

Sammie smiled and squirmed against him, trying to escape the attack on her sides. She looked at him and in a split second, her lips slammed against his. Jumping away, her eyes widened and her hand raised to brush against her lips. She looked at him for a moment and she tried to figure out what she is going to do now.

Alex sighed deeply when the morphine ran through his veins. Holy shit, he thought. Looking over at her, he nodded slightly. "Seriously," he said, "I get stabbed and yet, my parents don't even fucking care," he said as he looked up at the ceiling. "Fuck this shit," he said as he tore the IV out of his arm.

Jake laughed as she tried to escape him but couldn't. He blinked when she had slammed her lips against his. He smiled softly, releasing his grip on her to kiss her back. He felt her tear away from him, and blinked. "You okay?" He asked her lightly, and looked at her worriedly, wondering if he had done something wrong.

Anya nodded once the morphine was in his system. She blinked hearing his words. Her eyes widened tremendously as she watched him tear the IV out of his arm. She say blood spray from his arm, and went and got some gauze and pressed it against his arm. She looked at him and said, "Just because your parents aren't here, doesn't mean SOMEONE doesn't care. I'm here. I haven't even left." She then sighed, standing. She looked down at him and said, "Sometimes parents don't care." She turned around, her back to him and hugged herself and said, "Sometimes you don't need your parents either." She started to walk gently.

Sammie looked at him for a moment before she nodded slowly. Her wide eyes still looked at him. Leaning over, she kissed him again almost, experimenting. Smiling happily, she kissed him again before she pulled away again. "When we kiss," she said softly, the words unfamiliar as they rolled off her tongue. "It's....sparks?" She asked before scrunching her nose, not liking how that words felt. She blushed and looked down, letting her hair fall and cover her face.

Alex looked at her for a moment before he pushed himself up. He turned and headed after her. The blood was soaking the gauze but he grabbed her. He leaned his head against her shoulder and he wrapped his arms around her shoulders gently. "I'm sorry," he said as he held her. "I care about you too," he whispered. "I'm sorry that I haven't thanked you for everything and that i was selfish," he said before his voice trailed off and he stood there, simply holding her.

Jake watched her with fascination in his eyes. He really enjoyed her company. He felt her kiss him and smiled kissing he back wrapping his arms around her securely. He chuckled kissing her again. He watched as she pulled away listening to her a grin spreading onto his face. "Yes, sparks. Fireworks." He told her a smile on his features. He tilted her face back up and kissed her again. He pulled his lips away but kept the proximity, "Fireworks." He whispered.

Anya understood it perfectly but it bugged her how he acted so rashly. "That's not what I got angry about, Alex. You ripped a fucking IV out of your arm because your parents are asses." She had her back to him when he hugged her from behind. She grabbed his arms and held them tightly letting her forehead fall against one. She said, "Sometimes parents care. Sometimes they don't. Yours are assholes and pieces of shit." She said simply her hair falling into her face. "Just don't hurt yourself because they're assholes." She told him closing her eyes tightly.

Sammie watched him for a moment before smiling and nodding. To his choice of words. She leaned her forehead against his and sighed out happily before she kissed his cheek gently. do you want me to get you anything? Food? Water? she signed to him before letting her hands fall back into her lap and looking at him curiously. She smiled gently over at him and let her eyes travel over his face, memorizing his features. He truly was very handsome, she thought to herself.

Alex continued to hold her, feeling her forehead against his arm. He gave her shoulders a gentle squeeze before he nodded. His chin was resting on her shoulder so he knew that she felt it. "I promise, I won't do something like that again." He whispered to her gently. He continued to hold her in his arms for a little while before he heard someone clear their throat and he turned and saw the nurse watching them with an amused expression on her face. Alex chuckled and shrugged.

Jake smiled at her gently, feeling her against him. He absolutely loved the feel of her against him. He smiled feeling her lips against his cheek. He shook his head and said, "Nah. I'm fine. If you want anything though, don't hesitate to tell me, because I'll walk with you." He told her completely and utterly serious. He tilted his head lightly as he watched her lifting up a gentle hand to cup her cheek, his thumb stroking the soft skin there. He smiled to himself, not realizing that the smile was indeed etched onto his features.

Anya felt him continue to hold her and sighed shutting her eyes tightly. When she felt his hands give her shoulders a squeeze she just nodded. She heard his words and sighed in relief, "Don't be me and fuck up." She mumbled to herself softly. She kept her eyes closed and slowly pulled away right when she heard someone clear their throat. She looked over at the person and shrugged to her not really caring what she thought. She sighed softly and felt anxious that she was away from Sammie a little bit. It worried her when she wasn't near her a lot.

Sammie shook her head before leaning her cheek against his palm. Sighing softly, she wondered what was going to happen now. She but her lip lightly and watched him for a moment before she pushed herself up. I should go try and find my sister. she signed to him before she slid out of the bed. i will be back soon she signed once again before she leaned down and kissed him lightly before she turned and slipped out of the room. Biting her lip, she sighed. She had no idea where to start looking for her.

Alex looked over at Anya for a moment before he ran his fingers through his hair. "You want to go find Sammie," he stated simply. "You can go and I will head back to my room." He said gently. "I don't mind. I can take a nap." He said lightly as he watched her closely, ignoring the nurse who was standing near them. "What do you think?" He asked as he reached out and touched her hand with his own and smiled gently at her. "I know that you want to check on her."

Jake watched her with kind eyes. He watched her hands and said, "Alright. Go check on her. I'll be here." He said to her and smiled kissing her back. He ran a hand through his hair and watched her. He watched as she left and leaned back into the bed looking out at the sky. He watched as a nurse came in the room to look at his injuries.

Anya heard his words and looked up at him blinking softly. She gave a nod however because she knew it was true. She bit her lip hearing his other words and shook her head not wanting to just leave him. She sighed and said, "Fine, but only if you walk with the nurse." She said and felt him take her hand and watched him. She hugged him gently before turning and starting to walk. She went up to the front desk and asked the lady were Jake was. She told her and she headed off in that direction.

Sammie was walking toward the front desk when she saw Anya. Jogging over, she launched herself toward her sister and wrapped her arms around her. Sammie pressed her face against Anya's shoulder as she took in her sister's comforting presence. Taking a couple deep breaths, Sammie looked up at Anya and smiled ever so gently.

Alex watched as she left and he sighed softly. Turning back toward the nurse, he began to walk back to his room. So this is what it feels like to be babied, he thought as the nurse fretted around him and tried to get him as comfortable as possible.

Jake yawned and smiled knowing she had missed Anya. Honestly, he missed Alex as well. Usually they were inseparable. He missed his best friend. He yawned softly and blinked as a nurse came in and started to fret over him. He rolled his eyes.

Anya blinked feeling someone launched into her arms. She looked down and saw Sammie and smiled brightly hugging her back. She pressed a soft kiss to her forehead and held her close to her. She relaxed against her twin sister. She felt her pull away and said, "How're you and Jake?" She ruffled her hair.

Sammie smiled gently and shrugged slightly before flashing a thumbs up sign. She looked at her sister and touched her face gently bed rep smiling. How are you? She signed to her and watched her closely. She seemed fine, she thought as she smiled gently and moved close to her and smiled gently.

Alex watched the nurse and rolled his eyes before he sighed softly. "Really, I'm fine," he said as he ran his fingers through his hair. "I just need to be alone for a little bit," he said as he sighed and laid down in bed. Watching the ceiling, he sighed again.

Anya nodded and gave her a smile before blinking feeling her sister placing a hand on her face. She looked at her and saw the signing and said, "Still shaken up, but I'll make it. You know me." She said and smiled as she hugged her again feeling her come closer. "You look tired, Sam."She murmured.

Jake just wanted to not be the center of attention at the moment. He shook his head and stood up going to find Alex. He asked the room number for him, finding it out. He then limped his way to Alex. He managed to get to the room and panted as he said, "Hey dipshit." He grinned.

Alex looked up when Jake walked in and a grin spread across his face. "Hey," he said as he waved his friend over. "How are you? How you feeling?" He asked. He knew that his best friend was better considering he was walking around and that made him smile. "What the hell did we get ourselves into?" He asked referring to the sisters with a grin on his face.

Sam looked at her and shrugged slightly. She was debone tired but she couldn't sleep. Everytime that she closed her eyes, she saw his face and couldn't stop the nightmares so she chose to stay up and not to sleep. Looking down, she shrugged again and tried to pretend to be relaxed and happy again.

Anya frowned noticing her sister. "Come here."She murmured and brought her into her arms before laying them down on a couch. She then held her close. "You need to sleep, Sammie." She whispered and kissed her head. 'I'm right here. Yeah?" She said, remembering all the times that Sam had done this for her as well, minus the speech.

Jake grinned back and said, "Like three trucks ran my ass over." He laughed and sat down on his bed and made a sound that sounded like oof. "God, my stomach fuckin' hurts." He laughed. Hearing Alex, he shrugged and said, "Heaven and hell?" He offered a grin on his own face. "How you feeling ?" he tilted his head.

Alex laughed at his best friend's description before nodding. "Three trucks and a couple of bulldozers sound about right," he said as he looked at the ceiling. "Did you see the look on their faces?" He asked with a shudder as he tried to control the rage that was welling up inside him. "I don't know what to do," he said.

Sam shook her head as she pressed herself against Anya. She but her lip as her eyes filled with tears and she looked down at her hands. Shaking her head again, she looked up at Anya for a moment and sighed softly. I'm no tired, she signed as she smiled a sad and slow smile before pushing herself up. Wanna see if the boys are in Alex's room? She signed.
