One Defense

Anya was having a bad morning and really just needed to go home. She felt fine just this damn headache. She got headaches a lot so it's not something she and her family weren't used to. She saw the Advil and mumbled, "Can't take Advil." She shook her head. She then looked at Sammie and mumbled, "You ok, Sam?" She said shortening her name a bit. She gave her a sweet smile. "My head hurts is all. Just another headache." She told her.

Jake bit back a laugh when Anya refuses the advil. He wondered if both were allergic to the same things. He then heard her say she just had a headache. "Some bitch of a headache that is right there." He said. He still had part of a Scottish accent. His parents moved him to America with his gran when he was 6 so some times he still sounded Scottish.

Sammie sighed softly before sitting down again. Biting her lip, she glanced over at Anya every so often with a frown on her face. Reaching for her pen, she saw the note again and bit her lip gently. Unfolding it, she looked down at it and bit her lip. Ok, she wrote back before glancing up at Jake. She wondered if she should actually give it back to him or not.

Aaron took the advil back and nodded at Jake's statement. "Seriously" he agreed. "Is there something you need that will help?" he asked as he looked at her and frowned slightly. "Maybe we should go to the nurse or something?" he asked as he watched her. "You really don't look good." he said as he frowned again.

Anya rolled her eyes softly. They had no idea how bad I really was. She closed her eyes again and coughed lightly. She then ran a hand through her hair. She heard Aaron and just shrugged. Her head hurt badly. "I've got detention and I'm not leaving Sammie. If I go to the nurse she'll send me home because if I have these headaches at school it apparently means I'm not supposed to be here." She explained her tone still pretty icy. She winced again gripping her leg before letting it go as the pain went up and then down.

Jake heard Anya and frowned and said, "Well then take Sammie with you, if she wants, and screw detention." He said. He felt someone hit him in the was with a balled up piece of paper. He turned his he's and frowned. He saw the note written on it and rolled his eyes. It read on it why are you talking to the mute freak? He flipped the person off and said, "Asshole." He told him.

Sammie looked at Anya and frowned before passing her a note. You should go home. I'll serve the detention after school. She wrote as she watched Anya. She hoped that her sister understood that she was worried about her and she wanted Anya to feel better. Looking over when she saw the note that had been throwing. Biting her lip, she wrote a new note to Anya. I want to go some, she wrote.

Aaron watched the two sisters before turning and raising an eyebrow at Jake when he called someone an asshole. Looking around, he joined Jake in glaring at the guy before turning back and watching the sisters. "Is there something that we can do to help?" he asked curiously as he watched them both.

Anya read the note having a hard time focusing. She looked up and shook her head. "Absolutely not. "She said. She saw the note and got pissed off. She let it slide considering Jake took care of it. She then saw the new note and said, "You want to go home?" She heard the guy call Jake a bigger asshole and she shook her head and said, "Dumbass.' She said it loudly too. The guy turned back to look at her and said, "You're just a bitch anyways." She stood up quickly and hissed, "Like you know shit about me back the fuck off first you call my sister a freak and calling me a bitch when you don't know SHIT about me?? Go to hell." She said. She then took Sammie's hand gently and walked outside the room pissed.

Jake heard the guy and rolled his eyes again and then heard Anya and then heard the guy and was about to make his ass leave. He sighed shaking his head when Anya got pissed off and muttered, "Lovely." He sighed as he watched the girls leave. "Dumbass." He said and threw a book at him. He looked over at Aaron and said, "I think they already got the help they needed. At least know we know they'll be ok at least." He murmured.

Sammie followed after Anya and bit her lip gently. She gave her sister's hand a gentle squeeze before she began to lead them nowing her sister didn't feel good. Walking out fo the school, she took the car keys and helped Anya into the passenger seat before getting in the driver's seat herself and pulling out of the parking lot. They arrived home in about twenty minutes and Sammie helped Anya out and into the house. Taking her stuff, she put it down before taking Anya to their room and letting her lay down on her bed. Sammie helped her get settled before going and sitting down on her bed.

Aaron looked over at Jake and nodded. "That is a good point." He reached over and took Jake's book from the other guy before handnig it back to Jake. "I would stop throwing books. Mr. Baker would hate us if we messed up his precious books." he said as he looked away and frowned slightly.

Anya felt her hand and calmed down immediately and squeezed back. She then let her sister help her into the car. She rested her head on the back of the seat and just allowed herself more rest. She opened her eyes when she felt the car stop and got out after around twenty minutes of driving. She got into bed, taking her shoes off and then putting them on the floor. "I'm sorry, Sam." She mumbled. "I'll be fine later." She gave her a smile. She finally let down her barriers now that she was home. SHe knew she had become mean and Sammie had become quiet, but that's just how it was.

Jake nodded softly, and said, "It always is." He replied. He then took it back and muttered, "Precious my ass. When I wipe my cats ass on it, then he can get irritable otherwise no." He chuckled softly. He then sighed and said, "I haven't heard her get that mad in awhile." he said after a moment. He was talking about Anya.

Sammie looked over at her and smiled softly. Taking out her books, she tried to get herself caught up on the classes that she was going to miss today. Looking over at her sister, she smiled gently when she saw that she was asleep. Biting her lip gently, she continued to get things together for them both. Running her fingers through her hair, she tried to relax and just get things together.

Aaron looked at him and chuckled as he sat down. "You are a terrible person." he said jokingly as he leaned back and looked up at the teacher. "Yeah, she always seems to get more and more defensive the worse her headaches are." he frowned and looked surprised at himself for even knowing that information.

Anya fell asleep like that. She woke up a few hours later, her headache having gone away for the most part. She opened her eyes and murmured, "Do you want a shower or is it open?" She asked her, as she sat up rubbing her eyes. She looked at her, and yawned softly, and saw the work and murmured, "Don't worry about that, Sammie, just do what you want for once." She smiled.

Jake shrugged and said, "Well it's true isn't it? I might just do that just to piss him off." He said and laughed softly. He looked at the teacher and then over at Aaron and blinked hearing him. He then said, "Well if your head felt like it was going to explode you sure as hell would be all defensive as well." He pointed out.

Sammie looked at her and smiled gently before shaking her head. She turned her head to go back to her work before she wrote down a note on a piece of paper and threw it at Anya. It read: Once you finish your shower we should go get milkshakes. Sammie looked at Anya and grinned as she watched her happily.

Aaron laughed at his friend and got up when the bell rang. It seemed like the rest of the day went but without event and soon they were walking out to their cars. "Hey, wanna go get a milkshake? Or actually I'm feeling a burger and fries." he asked as he looked at Jake with a smile. He swung his keys on a finger and he watched him with a raised eyebrow.

Anya laughed softly. She saw the note and said, "Of course." She smiled at her. She then kissed her head before going and getting her towel and going to go get in the shower. She was the same age as Sammie but she felt like the older sibling some days. She felt like she had responsibility over her. She got into the shower stripping. She let the warm water fall over her muscles, making her hair fall back from her face and go down her back. Maybe it was time for a haircut.

Jake chuckled and said, "Milkshakes and fries ooh yeah." He said. He was a quirky guy. He chuckled and said, "You can have a burger all you want I want the fries and a milkshake." He laughed softly. He then got into the car with him, and popped his neck. His thoughts went to Sammie and Anya and wondered if they were ok now.

Sammie watched as Anya got into the shower and sighed softly. She felt like the only tie Anya smiled was when Sammie was excited about something and so she forced herself to act excited just to get her sister to smile. Getting up, she put her stuff away and got everything ready so they could head out when Anya was dressed again.

Aaron climbed into the car and began to drive to the local cafe. "Let's head out." he said with a smile as he drove. Getting to the parking lot of the cafe, he smiled as he parked and got out. "Come on lazy ass." he said as he walked into the car and locked his car.

Anya soon got out and dressed again. She put her hair up into a bun at the top of her head. "Ready?" She asked her smiling. She then got the keys and said, "My turn for driving .Sorry about earlier." She murmured referring to her banging her head on a desk because it hurt so damn badly. She then headed out and drove them to the local café.

Jake chuckled and nodded. He then popped his neck. He heard him and said, "I'm not the lazy ass here." He replied scoffing. He got out and slammed the door closed just to make Aaron irritated. He chuckled and said, "it's a car, man." He laughed softly though. He then flicked him before going inside.

Sammie looked at her and smiled. She nodded and got her shoes on before standing up and heading out. Smiling happily, she walked out and got into the car.
They seemed to get there fairly soon and Sammi climbed out of the car and held the door open for her sister.

Aaron watched him. "Jack ass, that is my baby." he said as he walked inside and got a seat at the counter. "Would you stop flicking me!?" he said exasperated as he looked at him. He glanced up when he heard the door open and his eyes widened when he saw the twins. "Look who is here." he said as he nudged Jake.

Anya smiled back. She then got into the car. She drove to the cafe. It was a fast drive. She smiled when Sammie held the door open for her and said, "Thanks." She walked into the cafe and looked around. She then said, "Just a milkshake or fries with it?" She asked her. She got her money out of her back pocket. "Nod twice for milkshake and fries once for milkshake." She said making it easier.

Jake laughed softly, and said, "I know." He then said, "I knew you were gonna say that too.' He chuckled. He sat beside him and said, "I thumped you earlier, this is my first time flicking you." He grinned. He was such a smartass. He glanced back saw them and blinked and said, "are we just lucky asses today or what?" He asked.

Sammie nodded twice eagerly before she looked around. Her eyes widened when she saw the guys from earlier and she quickly looked away. She always got the same thing here so it was easy to order. Looking around, she walked over to a booth and slid in as she pulled a napkin and a pen. She began to doodle as she waited for Anya to pay and the waitress to bring the stuff.

Aaron looked at him and chuckled. "I'm lucky and you my friend are an ass." he said as he clapped his shoulder. "SHould we join the lovely ladies?" he asked as he looked at his friend to see what he thought what their next move should be.

Anya smiled softly. She noticed the guys from earlier but didn't say anything. She paid for their stuff. She was only getting a milkshake. She then went to the booth and sat down across from Sammie and smiled. "She said she'd bring it." She then took her hair down, feeling like it had dried. She let it fall down her shoulders and she brushed it out of her face.

"I'm the Scottish one here." He grinned. He then said, "I am not! Maybe a bit, but just to you." He grinned. He kept him clap him on the shoulder and said, "Shall we?" He chuckled softly, and said, "If Anya gets mean you're handling it I already have you to deal with." He chuckled.

Sammie watched Anya and nodded. She flashed a thumbs up sign and grinned. Getting a new napkin, she wrote are you okay? on the napkin before sliding it over to her sister. Smiling softly, she reached over and touched her sister's hair happily before again flashing a thumbs up sign.

Aaron grabbed his stuff and grinned. "Come on my Scottish ass." he said as he got up before walking over. "Hey, mind if we join you?" he asked as he slid into the booth next to Anya and smiled at both sisters. "How are you guys doing?" he asked gently.

Anya chuckled softly at Sammie and then saw it and said, "yeah. Now. The shower made the rest of it disappear." She smiled. "I think I need to go to the doctor for these." She felt Sammie touch her hair and smiled softly. She noticed Aaron and Jake sit by them. She saw Sammie was ok with it and just chilled out. "The usual. Talking about murder." Anya said chuckling.

Jake chuckled and said, "That's much better." He chuckled softly. He got his own stuff and followed him. He saw the thumbs up and slid in beside Sammie and popped his neck feeling it go back to normal after being popped. He then heard Anya and saw the look on the waistress' face as she came over and started laughing.

Sammie's body shook with silent laughter as she smiled at her sister. She grinned at the waitress and waved before smiling as the waitress set the good down. Looking at her fries, she took one and dipped into the milkshake and popped it into her mouth before looking at everyone.

Aaron laughed at the waitress's expression and he grinned. "That was awesome." He said as he smiled at her. "Perfectly done." He said as he took a sip of his milkshake. "How is your head feeling now?" He asked as he looks over at her curiously.
