I DID IT!
Let me know if I need to fix anything or if you guys might have some suggestions? :)
Thankfully, the universe decided that it still needed me to keep on living because the best thing did happen.
I didn’t get hit by that car, in fact I only got a bruise in my arm from the person who saved my life. It was a guy who went to my school, his name is Acrimony. Somehow he managed to take me out of harm's way, which is great but his attitude after wasn’t the best.
I mean, I do appreciate the fact that I did not break a bone or. . . died. . . but I know that if I saved someone from a similar situation, I would make sure the person I saved was okay. I’d check for injuries, see how they’re feeling, maybe calm them down and crack a joke to make them feel better. It just seems like something you should do. . . unless your name is Acrimony.
According to said person it’s okay to yell at the person you just saved. Then again it was just a crazy all around event so I decided not to pay any mind to what he said.
If I had to replay that day again, I would still risk getting injured to save that adorable kitten. Whom I returned to the owners who spent all morning thanking me and ensuring that I was in fact alive and okay.
I ended up being late to school that day, which did make my parents worry but after telling them what had happened they were understanding. After the rumors seemed to calm down at school and the event became old news, it dawned on me that I never actually said thank you to Acrimony.
I knew I had to but wasn’t sure how to because a “thank you” isn’t enough when someone saves your life.
So I asked Chester and my parents and now here I am, with a small box of cake in my hands, the type of cake that a lot of people at my school were constantly buying or posting picture of. I figured Acrimony had to be a fan of it too, and if he wasn’t. . . well. . .
My eyes continued to scan the hallway as I walked by numerous students. I rushed past the few I was familiar with even though I knew they needed to ask me something or needed my help because I felt thanking Acrimony was slightly more important at the moment.
Thankfully I found him in the next hallway, standing at his locker with another person. When I got closer I recognized that it was Shaan, a male cheerleader who was standing next to Acrimony. Shaan was standing pretty close to him so I had to clear my throat to get Acrimony's attention.
“What the hell do you want?” he asks. I’m taken by surprised at his tone but I don’t let it stop me from saying what I’ve been needing to say.
“Hello Acrimony, I just wanted to formally thank you for what happened a few weeks ago. I know it’s been a while but I really appreciate what you did and I hope this is okay” the words spilled out of my mouth. I was polite and calm, hoping that maybe it would change his tone of voice, but it didn’t.
“Just fuck off Porter, it’s old news, move the fuck on already” he growls, yanking the box away from me and shoving me back towards the direction I came from.
I was shocked.
I know not everyone is the nicest person though.
I just sighed and went on with my day, I did what I had to do, now I can focus on helping me friends.
