Love Overcomes All Odds

Jake nodded and took her hand keeping his fingers laced with hers as they walked inside. "Hungry, darling?" He asked as he lead her to one of the tables. Not waiting for a response, he pulled her chair out and let her take a seat before disappearing into the back. About five minutes later, he came back with two trays of food. Setting down one in front of her, it held corn, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a whole chicken breast. Sitting down with his own food he began eating quietly.

Roxy bit down on her lower lip gently before she let her fingertips dip into the waistband of his jeans. Standing on her tiptoes to reach his ear, she whispered, "Shawn, I want you to take me to your office and make me never want to think about another man. I want to taste you too." Anita smiled. She sat going to respond when he left. She chuckled and sat there waiting for him. Once he came back she smiled. "Oh... thank you." She said and started to eat. She took small bites and ate so proper it was like a show to watch and she didn't even realize she was doing it. "I'm sorry, honey, just thought you couldn't wait," Roxy whispered against his lips before she used her free hand to bring his to her breast. Anita bit her lip as he talked and it became obvious that he had hit something she herself had thought of. Her eyes glossed over as if she might cry but she blinked it away as she thought. Shawn groaned and kissed her neck cursing lightly. "Fuck. Office now." He knew he couldn't keep quieter than a whisper up her but at least his office had some privacy. He pulled away and grabbed her hand that had just been teasing him into the hard in his pants. He walked down a little ways towards he back stage andstarted down the ladder. Once he was down he took her off the last couple steps and carried her towards the door. They went around the building as he set her down at his office door unlocking it and moving her in. Anita turned into him as she felt his arms. Only for a breif moment did she consider pushing him away. When he pulled back she looked into his eyes. Anita bit her lip and nodded. Anita nodded and smiled. She started in to the building and moved up the stairs and opened the door. She walked inside and smiled. "Make yourself comfortable." She said and grabbed her nightgown and went into the bathroom. She rinsed off and then dressed in her nightgown. Anita dried her hair and bit her lip wanting to put something else on to be presentable but she wanted hom to see her without her walls. Anita bit her lip and opened the door blushing as she came out. She looked up at him on her bed and smiled gently. Anita sat on the bed curling up into his chest. "Hi." She said softly.

Shawn smiled as he dressed. "Oh we are so in trouble if we get busted." He chuckled and kissed her head as he held her for a moment. Shawn pulled back and winked at her. "So should we sneak around to the backstage again?" He asked. He was glad they had done this regardless of what others might think.

Jake looked up upon hearing her voice. A wide smile graced his face as he looked over at her taking in every inch of her beauty. Wrapping his arms around her once she snuggled up to him, he pulled her a little closer and kissed the her forehead softly. "You look beautiful as always, darlin," he winked as he locked his hands together encircling her small frame with his large arms. His sweet eyes looked into hers with happiness. It took everything in him to not just reach down and kiss her head to toe. He held her close and allowed himself the pleasure of simply gazing into her eyes. This girl was beautiful inside and out.

Roxy laughed softly as she looked up at him and leaned against his chest. "Livin' life on the edge huh?" She asked raising an eyebrow at him curiously. "I'm thinkin' we sneak out the back, but then, I definitely have to go and take a shower," blush rose to her cheeks as her eyes moved away from his for a moment. Lacing her fingers with his, she thought for a moment. "Would you maybe want to come over and have some late dinner?" Her voice rang quietly while she bit her lower lip nervously.

Anita smiled and reached over turning on the radio low. "So Jake tell me more about you." She said her fingers playing with his shirt, she didn't look back up into his eyes. She was afraid that he could see straight into her soul and pull those secrets out of her and he wouldn't like them. Anita wanted to know more about his dream. She wanted to hear his music and take it all in. Anita was thinking that she was going to spend the summer here and fly to grad school.

Shawn chuckled and kissed her again. He watched her carefully as she opened her soul to him. He smiled and cupped her cheek. "I think that is a wonderful idea." He said and pulled out his keys. "Just let me go clock us out and we can get going. You wanna take my truck?" He asked and ran a hand through her messy hair loving the way she let him mess it up.

Jake rubbed her arm with his thumb gently as he watched her play with his shirt. "Well...I've always played the guitar. Even taught my brother how to. We used to have campfire concerts when we were kids with our friends. I kinda stopped when I went into the service," his deep voice rang softly as he looked at her. His heart began racing as he thought of the service and of his friends, the friends he lost. He shook his head making the graphic memories disappear. "What about you?" He asked curiously.

Roxy smiled happily up at him "Surely," she stood on her tiptoes giving him a sweet kiss before grabbing her purse. Her fingers laced with his giving his large hand a gentle squeeze. After all of their adventures in the last twenty four hours, she began feeling more cuddly and wanted some tender moments with him.

Anita bit her lip trying to think of what to tell him. "Well I grew up in Georgia with my mother. She marryed my father when I was five but he already had a ten year old son. I was taught a lot about high society and how to fit into it dispite my unfortunate birth circumstances. I never did find out what that really meant. So that is about it other than going to medical school." Anita bit her lip harder wanting to admit something to him. "I actually took this rpad trip to Phoenix so I could learn who I am. I really don't know myself." She admited not looking up at him. He was so different from her and yet he saw through it all into her deepest unexplored self.

Shawn smiled and kissed her as he quickly moved out of he room and went to clock them out. He could see Elli eyeing him but damn it this was what he needed, what made him happy and he was going to finally do something just for him. Shawn walked out and meet up with Roxy at his truck. He helped her in and smiled. He bit his lip. "Do ya wanna drive?" He asked. Men like him didn't do ttwo things for just anyone, they didn't let people drive their truck or wear their hats.

Jake listened to her story. He frowned when she mentioned the birth circumstances wondering too what it could mean. His hand smoothed gentle circles on her side absentmindely while he relished in the feeling of her in his arms. "That's a good idea. Take some time away from your family to figure things out yourself...if I may be so bold, may I ask if you've started fiding out who you want to be? Because the woman before me seems like she knows what she wants but just has to go grab it," speaking softly he cupped her chin gently and brought her face up towards his in order to look into her beautiful eyes. Every time he gazed into them, his heart skipped a few beats.

Roxy looked over at him with a shocked and curious expression. "Me? Sure," she said softly as a blush rose to her cheeks. "A country boy like you might s well be purposing," with a wink, she leaned up on her tiptoes and gave him a sweet kiss. "Buckle up, cowboy," she sang once he gave her the keys. Hopping in, her small hand slid the key into the ignition causing the engine to roaor to life. "You sure?" Looking over at him, she gave him one last chance to back out.

Anita smiled and blushed. "I think I am starting to." She said and put her hand over his. She needed to try it out to see if it was right. Anita felt like it would be but just to be sure she would go into town tomorrow and try it out. She was so glad he was staying. "So what was growing up here like?" She asked and smiled. "What things did you get into when you were young and a trouble maker?" She teased.

Shawn chuckled as he buckled up. "Just take it easy on my baby." He said and winked at her as he watched her sitting here in his truck looking like she had just won a pot of gold. She was so adorable and he could feel himself falling for her. Shawn didn't understand how she had captured him so quickly.
