Carter let out a laugh as she talked about flying being bad ass. "No can't say I ever wanted to touch a cloud." He shook his head feeling she was a bit weird wanted to do that, but then again they were both raised differently. "No when I wished I could fly it was when me and Harper were running for our lives. Just being able to pick her up and fly where ever we wanted, it would have made out lives so much easier." He sighed. Shrugging at her question he didn't know what to think about humans and metas. "Honestly it could very well be jealousy. It doesn't make sense to me any other way." He knew that the people who'd enslaved his parents were monsters, but they were bread that way. And hate was a learned behavior.

Harper heard them leave she was just glad they were gone and she didn't have to deal with either of them. It seemed like the best time to try and sleep anyways. But a loud shrill pulled her from her thoughts. Sitting up she looked around the house wondering what the hell she was hearing. Then it happened again. Only then did it dawn on her it was coming from the phone Logan gave her. Standing up she quickly dashed after the phone, moving into her room and throwing things around before she located it. Placing it to her ear after answering it, hoping he was still there. "Hello." She breathed out in a panic. A soft smile forming on her lips when his voice wafted through the phone. Collapsing down in the floor she couldn't help the smile on her face. "Hey." She breathed out softly, so glad he called. "God I've missed you." She told him truthfully. She wanted to touch and hug him but this was the best she could get.

Abby smiled softly. "I think your reason for fling is more important. If I could I would give it to you." she said smiling softly. She nodded as he agreed with her. Abby touched his arm softly. "People do crazy things." she said softly not just talking about the puras. They made it to the farm house and she smiled at him. "Ready?" Abby asked and then after a moment knocked on the door. It was then she realized he would probably think she was Harper all grown up since it had been so long and she blushed. Maybe since he knew they where coming he knew more but that raised all the questions. How had he known they where coming at all?

Logan smiled sighing at her words. He thought the moment she left that Carter would have turned her away rom him. "I missed you every second. I wish I could hold you." he whispered and sighed putting his head in his hand. "I can't talk long I don't want to make this dangerous but I have some news. I am being watched. Everywhere I go there are the same people following me. I am having some people looking into it. I made sure this call would be safe but it wasn't easy. "Harper listen to me. They are looking for Abigail, she's one of a kind. She shows that it isn't one type of people that can be like you. That scares them. They are looking for you and Carter too but you're not as high profiled as she is. Keep her away from cameras, stick to the country. I am trying to figure it out from my side... and Harper... I will get you back. I swear it. I will make it safe for you to return to me."

Carter watched as the door open the second after the knocking had stopped, like he'd know they were there. Blinking at the man before him he looked the same, maybe a few years older but the man was still in farming clothes and those kind eyes. "Carter, it's good to see you." Turning his attention to Abby he smiled, "Abby." He watched as their faces paled. "Would you like to come in." He opened the door knowing they had plenty of question for him. After all people like him didn't usually exist on this side of the fence. Carter was on edge as he walked into the house his eyes wary and he was in a very defensive stances. He knew the man wouldn't put up a fight, but he wasn't sure about the unknown. Taking a seat he offered for them to be seated. "You must have so many questions." He told them watching as they tried to peace together their thoughts. "It's okay, I know what you're going to ask." He chuckled, "who am I, how do I know who you are, am I trying to kill you." He smiled softly shaking his head. "No children I'm not who you think I am, I just an old man who's lived his life to the fullest. Not worried about no one ever." He patted his head, "you must have pieced it together by now my boy." He told Carter knowing he'd already thought of it but thought it impossible. "Your a seer?" Carter got out finally. The man just nodding as smiling.

Harper bit her lip to keep her tears back when he told her he couldn't talk long. "Please be careful." She whispered out, not knowing what else to say. Everything he'd said she knew they'd travel mainly by night, stayed at hotels with little to no security. Back tracked doubled around and ran in circles just to get here. It wasn't something that was easy to do. "I need you to promise me your not going to do something stupid and get yourself killed." She told him, knowing that this entire thing was already putting him into to much danger. She needed to get him out of there as well, but knew it was to dangerous here for him. Carter wouldn't allow him any where near her. Though she ached to see him, and she truly missed him. "Promise me, that if this gets to dangerous you give up on me, and live." She knew that now it was her fight. She was going to do her damnest to bring those fuckers to their knees for ever messing with him.

Abby inhaled sharply as he said her name in greeting. She looked at Carter but he was already three steps ahead thinking about any possible danger. She bit her lip and followed them inside closing the door. She came over sitting with them and listened to the old man. She looked over at Carter as the old man spoke to him. She bit her lip and looked back at the old man. She didn't know about seers but she had been able to guess there would be some kind of ability out there that felt with seeing the future. If it wasn't more than that though. It seemed to her though that Carter knew all about it and was shocked. She wanted to ask but didn't want to sound foolish and blushed looking down at her lap. She really hated that she was so out of the loop with he world around her.

Logan smiled softly. It made him feel less alone to hear her caring words. She cared that he was okay. "I will stay as safe as I can Harper, I promise that, but it is far too late for me to leave a safe happy life. Not only because they will take out anyone that is a threat but also because I could never be truly happy without you in my life." he said and bit his lip. I will try to call again when I have news... or when it is safe again. Harper... please don't be upset. It's going to be okay I am okay and you re safe for now. I intend to keep it that way." he said and ran a hand through his hair. "Harper... if you need anything text me. Come up with some kind of a code. I know you can think of something we both can understand." he said and grinned. "I adore you my beautiful girl." he whispered.

Carter looked at Abby a soft smile on his face, on of relief more or less. "So that's how you knew we were coming." He said amazed. The old man just nodded before smiling at Abby. "You see things aren't as easy for everyone as it was for me." He told them. "Some people are held in the shadows others embraces the light and all the dangers that come with it," he shook his head. "Sadly I was one that just wanted to live, I found myself alone with out a family or friends. But I knew things, things that got me money and eventually I got land. Happy I was just settled down and was enjoying a life I was building." He shook his head. "Then these two hell-yens showed up and through my life into the toilet." He sighed smiling at Carter. "I never cared about anyone, nobody, till I met you two. And really I tired my damnest to forget you, didn't want nothing to do with you. But fate, twisted bitch it is lands you right back here." He chuckled. "I couldn't imagine my life with out all this cautious now." He stood up, moving to the fridge, pulling a folder off of it. Moving back to his chair he sat down before handing it to Carter. "When I knew you were coming back, I started to see things that I couldn't make heads or tails of." He shook his head, watching as Carter opened the folder to reveal all different kind of papers. Some were print outs from a computer while others were hand written. Carter flipped through them not knowing what they were. "I can only guess at this point that it has to do with Abby." He told him, before shaking his head. "You my dear are special." He smiled at her.

"Code, got it." She told him, before thinking of everything that's happened to them in the past few months all the memories. She wanted to see him, she needed to. It was eating her up inside. But she knew she couldn't be selfish and asked him to come to her. She'd hate herself if anything happened to him or her brother. It wasn't really worth the risk. But if they were smart about it then he could come. But he'd have to do a lot of traveling just to get to her. She wanted to see him so badly, but knowing that even video chatting wouldn't help her. "I do need a few things like clothes, money, and you." She told him softly. She wanted to tell him then and there how she felt about him. But she couldn't bring herself to say it. Did she really truly love him. Abby seemed to think she did. So maybe she did, but how could she be sure it wasn't the thought of losing him that was making her want to love him.

Abby frowned looking at the folder. Did she want to know what it held inside. She frowned. "I'm not special Sir. I'm just different." she said and bit her lip. She didn't want to be special. She was tired of being different from everyone even the Metas. She knew she wasn't like Carter and his sister and she wasn't like her parents. Abby sometimes wondered if she actually had abilities. Sure she could see and hear and smell things no one else could that was Pura, she could jump and run and was stronger than any Pura but what did that mean? She was otherwise normal right? Abby sighed and rubbed her legs. She knew she was just upset and that it would pass too. She was Meta and that was good, she was Pura and that also was good. Abby bit her lip looked up at him. "What am I suppose to do now?" she asked the old man because she really didn't know. Running and hiding was only going to last so long, they needed to do something about it but she didn't know where to start.

Logan nodded. "I will see what I can do. What City are you near?" he asked not wanting her to give him to much information. He would get it close and let her get it when it was safe not wanting anything to risk her safety. Logan would give her anything he could to help her. He wanted to take care of her even now. When they had worked out a plan for her to pick up a package without too many details he sighed. Logan sat back as a knock came to his door. "I have to go love but I will call as soon as I can when it is safe. I will send word of the package... And Harper... don't forget to smile." he whispered giving it a moment before he smiled. "Bye." he spoke softly and hung up quickly. Logan wanted to cry worried that this phone call would be its last. His fathers call boy came in. "We really must go sir." he said and Logan stood. "Ernesto I said I would be ready when I am ready. Remember your place." he said and waited until the door was closed and stashed his phone. He sighed grabbing his jacket and heading out to join his father in the limo.

A soft smile formed on the man's face. "You don't get it do you?" He asked her, knowing that even though she doesn't see her self as special she was the key to everything. "Have you ever wondered where metas come from, why they look human instead of alien like?" He asked her. Of course some people have different thoughts on the matter those were the first two that came to his mind. "It's because metas are human with an added gene, special to the human race. But because there is only a few compared to non they aren't seen that way. But you," he pointed at her smiling. "You are the missing link that answers everyone's questions." His smile slowly started to falter. "And certain people who enslave the metas don't want your existences known. Because if everyone found out that you are a meta born from a pure human line then everything they've ever worked for would crash down. And metas would be set free from slavery." He explained, to her knowing that the moment she'd connected with Carter her entire world clashed with his. And her future was something he was well invested in.

Harper felt her heart leap into to her throat as he said he'd see what he could do. Was she really going to get a chance to see him. She knew she truly wanted to see him more than anything. After quickly telling him the largest city they were close to, she nibbled on her lip feeling herself starting to get excited. She nodded even though he couldn't see her, "okay, talk to you later." She didn't want to say bye it felt like it would be the final one if she did. And she wanted to see him again. She heard the line click before she pulled the phone away. Shutting it she put it away, before laying down on her bed. A soft sigh leaving her lips, she wanted to just close her eyes and be back with him. But she wasn't sure why this was hitting her like it was now. Before she'd left him she was always pulling away from him, she knew it was a love hate relationship and she needed to forgive the past and move forwards.

Abby nodded. She had believed it was something like that. It was the only thing that made sense but she couldn't be the only one. It didn't make her special to simply be the first in her family to have the gene did it? What would make her special is if she could somehow make it so that it would free the metas but they where in hiding and she didn't know how to help anyone. "So what do I do now?" she asked and frowned. Abby didn't know how to help anyone. She might be the key but she didn't know how to turn it or even where the damn lock was.

Logan headed to the gala with his father and mother. They spent the evening wining and dinning. Only this time Logan wasn't happy about it but put on a good show. He noticed every meta in the room and how they where being treated and suddenly he despised himself. He had spent so long subjugating metas and even Harper's own family. He would never make up for what he had done to Cameron but he had a good idea where to start. He had to find a way to help Abigail. He knew she meant a lot to Cameron it was obvious in so short a time how close they had grown.

The man smiled at her, shrugging. "I might be a seer but I don't see everything." He told her. Though he'd done his homework well, he knew how to stay hidden and they weren't in any danger now. The people seeking her were to far away. Roaming and looking, but they didn't know Carter and his skills and smarts to hide. "All we can do is move forward, do what we can." He told her. He smiled before taking a cookie from the plate. "You should take them home with you, the three of you can enjoy them more than this old man." He told them. Knowing he wasn't suppose to have to much sweets. Or that's what he's doctor would say if he ever went.
Carter smiled at Abby, before patting her leg. "We should head back." He told her, knowing they were going to have a lot to talk about just the two of them. After all they did still have to discuss earlier out burst and now all this information. Though Carter had noticed a stamp on one of the papers, he'd used to work for a man that did business with the company. So he'd seen it a lot and would forget it. But they were a pharmaceutical company so he couldn't see why they'd be so set on hunting Abby. But there was always so much hidden under the surface one never knew about. Standing he nodded to the man before leading her out the door.

Abby frowned and nodded her mind spinning now. She bit her lip and looked up at Carter her eyes pleading with him to have some answers. When they stood she nodded thanking the man and letting Carter take her out of the house. They headed down the road silently at first. Abby sighed and shook her head. It was so much to take in. It made their arguments seem so small. "Carter..." she stopped and looked up at him. "I'm sorry. This is a lot and I am having a hard time thinking it all over and processing how I am feeling. I didn't mean to hurt anyone." she said looking up at him. "You believe me right?" she asked softly her eyes distressed. She didn't want to fight anymore. Abby wondered what he would say. He had seemed to believe she had been attacking his sister and she would never intentionally do that. Abby just hoped they might be able to resolve this all and quickly because they had so much more going on than their little things. It seemed it was dependent on her and Carter to free the Metas.

Carter frowned his she stopped walking, he truly didn't want to deal with anything right now. All he wanted to do was go home and go to bed, even though they didn't do a whole lot today he was exhausted. He just wanted to curl up in bed an sleep for days, that wasn't going to happen. So when she started to apologize he started to feel bad. After having taken a step back from everything and calmed down he realized she'd ranting and not taking her anger out on his sister. "I believe you." He told her before cupping her face in his hand. "It was my mistake not yours." He told her moving closer, his thumb caressing her cheek, "it wasn't that big of a deal, and I kind of let my anger get the best of me." He told her, before leaning down and pressing a soft kiss to her lips, "and I'm sorry for that."

Abby leaned her head into his hand. She closed her eyes and sighed. His lips met hers and she sighed. "Thank you." she leaned her head against his. "I am so glad it's over. I didn't want to fight with you anymore." she said and looked up at him. "I want to make it right with Harper but not night I am so tired." she said and smiled. "Let's go home and go to bed. I just want to lay with you until we both fall asleep." she said and took his other hand lacing her fingers with his.

Carter smiled at her filling her touch calmed him, he couldn't help but use that to his advantage and pulled her to him. Pressing his lips to hers he closed his eyes and basked in their kiss. "Me too." He told he before turning around and squatting down. "Get on." He told her, knowing she was rather tired. Once she was on his back he stood before hooking his hands under her thighs. He couldn't help but smile as they made their journey home. His thoughts traveling to Harper and how he used to do this with her when she was younger. She'd always complaining that he was babying her, but he couldn't help that they had places to be and couldn't be caught getting there. He smiled when the house came into view. Though he really didn't want their time to come to an end, but he was looking forward to cuddling in bed.

Abby smiled as he kissed her. She felt so alive with him. He was always surprising her. She grinned as he pulled back and crotched. "What really?" she asked. She had never had a piggy back before. She giggled and got on letting him help adjust her. She giggled as they headed home. She buried her face in his neck and smiling like a fool. When Carter set her down as he tossed her arms around his neck and kissed him again. "Hmmm." she sighed and giggled before pulling back. Abby was really relieved. She headed inside with him not seeing Harper. "I'm going to go shower." she said wanting to give him some time if he wanted it to talk to Harper or to just be alone for a little. She headed to the bathroom and closed the door.

Carter let out a soft groan after the bathroom door closed. She was slowly killing him with all the touching and kissing. But what was really getting to him was the thought of her being naked and dripping wet less than ten feet from him. Sighing he shook his head before turning to head to the room they were sharing. But he stopped when he noticed Harper asleep on the couch. Shaking his head he headed to her before picking her up and carrying her to her room. Once she'd been tucked in he headed his room. After standing there just staring out at the stars he decided he should change before Abby got back. Grabbing a pair of sweats he started to peel his clothing from the day off. After he pulled on his pants he laid down on the bed just staring out the glass doors into the vast darkened sky.

Abby came into the bedroom wrapped in a towel her skin pink from the warmth. She walked over to the bag she had yet to unpack and grabbed her pjs. She pulled the shirt over then shimmed into her panties and pants before pulling away the towel. Abby was rubbing her hair as she turned to Carter and smiled at him. "You look comfy." she said smiling gently at him. She put her towel in the hamper then crawled into bed with him and looked at him smiling softly. "Got a lot on your mind?" she asked. Abby propped her chin on her arm as she looked at him smiling. She had time to think in the shower and yet she still had no idea what she was going to do to make up with Harper but she knew it was important.

Carter heard the door open pulling his attention, looking over as Abby entered. Licking over his lips he was rather shocked that she'd emerged in nothing but a towel. Letting his eyes wander over her body he quickly turned his eyes away when he felt his lower half coming alive. Settling back into the bed his ignored body and the woman in the room dressing. "Yeah I guess I am." He teased her, knowing it was best to pull his mind off the thoughts that had been previously running through his head. "You can say that." He told her, knowing it was a lot more than she could reckon. "Though I honestly don't even want to think about it right now." He told her, talking about everything they've encountered through out the night.

Abby nodded and move closer to him on the bed her head resting on his chest listening to his heart beating. “It has been a long and... well it’s been interesting.” She said and sighed cuddling him starting to relax. “But it’s okay you don’t have to think about it right now.” She said turning and looking up at him her hair trailing over his chest. Abby bit her lip. “You know I think about our day at the boardwalk a lot. It was so much fun and you were so bright. There was this glow in your eye...” she blushed. “It is something I hope for you again.” She said lovingly. Abby was so excited to start this relationship. She had never had one but she could imagine how it would go.

Carter smiled at her glad for the subject change, the memory of their time at the boardwalk was one of his best. "It was a fun time." He agreed. Though he was a bit surprised by her words, he'd never thought he'd behavied any differently. "What do you mean a glow?" He asked before gently squeezing her side. He couldn't help the smile on his face. He wanted to make her happy. Keeping her safe had only been part of his job. He knew he hadn't been a very good suitor nor had he started off being a good boyfriend. He'd been so focused on keeping them safe and fed that he'd forgotten to make her happy. "What kind of glow?" He teased her, staring into her eyes.

Abby blushed as he looked at her so intently that twinkle in his eyes reminding her he could be playful. She giggled and leaned in running her hand up his arm. "That mischievous sexy happy glow." she said and bit her lip gently. "It's something you just have to see to really understand." she said and cupped his cheek. It was the first night they where not running and were settled. She knew this life would be hard but it could also be amazing and Abby was always looking for the full side of the glass. This moment right here where the playfulness of her boyfriend in their bed when they had no where else to be was that moment that reminded her with side of the glass to look at and she was so thankful for it.
