    I chuckled lightly at her comment about me being a good pillow. "So I've been told," I joked as I led her up to my bedroom. The room was absolutely huge. I had a walk in closet, a personal study, a huge ass bathroom. I figured Chloe would love it. "There is a fuck ton of extra room in here. There's two sinks in the bathroom, so half of it is all yours. I only take up about a third of the closet, so there should be plenty of room for all of your clothes, and if there is anything you don't want in the bedroom, I'm sure that there is plenty of room in the house to put it." I told her. "I hope you like it here."

    (so just for reference, I figured that this could be his house)

    "Sounds good to me." I smiled. I started putting my clothes in the closet and put all the bags and the couple suitcases I had in the back of it. I grabbed my bathroom things and took them into the bathroom and put them away before looking at Matt. "All done."

    I stood there for a moment, looking at her. "Do you have any plans for tomorrow?" I asked "Like are you spending thanksgiving with your family?" I wasn't sure if it would be okay to invite her, or if she would even come, but I figured it would be nice if I did.

    I chewed on my lip as I sat down. Matt and I weren't as close as Val and I were, even when she introduced me to him, I didn't constantly hang out with him, just saw him every now and then when I'd go to Val's or when he'd tag along with her to pick me up from work.

    "No...uh...my mom died from cancer last year and my dad remarried. His new wife completely hates me and has turned my dad and my siblings against me...so...it's probably best if I keep my distance from them." I said, looking over at him.

    My mom's death was also attributed to my recent bout of depression because her anniversary of her death was coming up also. "Why'd you ask?" I asked him.

    "I'm so sorry," I said softly, I felt bad for asking her.

    "I was asking because if you didn't have any plans, I was going to see if you wanted to spend it with James and I. We usually go to my parents for it, and if you didn't have any plans, I figured that you could come with us if you wanted to," I explained, looking at her as I rubbed the back of my neck.

    "That would be great, thanks Matt." I smiled, looking over at him. I got up. "So, I don't know if you're still tired or not, but I'm getting kind of hungry...I don't know if you feel like making something to eat or not." I said. If he didn't feel like it, I could always find something to make.

    "You're very welcome." I said to her. " I bit my lip slightly whenever she asked me if I felt like cooking. "If we had any food here, I would, I can order some take out if you like, I wasn't going to buy anything until after tomorrow because all of my food would have went bad by the time that I came back home from the tour," I explained to her. I hoped that it wouldn't bother her to have take out for dinner today. I would cook something nice for her to eat the day after tomorrow whenever we actually had food in the house.

    "Take out sounds great." I smiled. I followed him out of the room and waited while he checked on James. I smiled and followed him downstairs and sat down on the couch. "What about Chinese?" I asked him as he started looking through his phone. I was tempted to tell him not to worry about it and just run and grab us something because he still looked exhausted, but at the same time, so was I.

    "What would you like?" I asked her, I had an app for a Chinese restaurant that was about ten minutes away. You could place your order through a text and then they would send the delivery boy whenever it was ready. I already entered in what I wanted, and I ordered chicken tenders for James whenever he finally woke up. All I needed was Chloe's order.

    "I don't think it's weird, him calling you mommy, not after spending four months straight with you, I think what will be weird is referring to you as mommy whenever I have a conversation with him about you." I told her with a light chuckle as I rubbed the back of my neck. "I know that probably sounds stupid, but with him not having a mom around, and not using that word very often, I feel like it is going to be slightly awkward for me at first. I'm going to want to call you Aunt Chloe all the time."

    I smiled, "yeah I can see that. At least he's old enough to understand that I'm not his actual mom, just a motherly figure to him." I said. I thought for a moment and then smiled. "I remember when you and Val started dating...you were all she talked about for weeks on end...it almost got to the point where I wanted to tell her to shut the hell up because she was making me gag." I giggled softly. "She was so in love with you from day one, Matt. I had never seen her that happy before, other than the day you proposed to her." I said.

    I smiled slightly whenever she told me how happy I had made Val. My mind instantly went to the last day that we were together, how I screamed at her that I was doing what I did to provide for her and our unborn child. My smile faded at the thought. She had told me how stupid I was for doing what I did, and that there were other ways, and I told her there was no other way. I had blown everything to bits and I had no way of chasing after her. Everyone had asked me what I said to her whenever I got out, and the last thing that I wanted to do, was describe how I blew my marriage to bits right before my wife died.

    I looked over at Matt and I could tell he was hurting again. I reached over and took his hand in mine. "I'm sure she's looking down on you right now, Matt and she's probably extremely proud of you and how you've managed to raise your son all by yourself, pretty much." I said.

    "I used to be jealous of her and Michelle, as stupid as that sounds." I laughed slightly.

Whenever she said that she used to be jealous of Michelle and Val, I looked at her confused. "Why, you're just as pretty and kind as them. You're every bit as good as what they are." I told her honestly.

    I squeezed his hand. "Maybe one day you can talk about it." I told him and then laughed slightly. "Thanks but if you would have saw me a few years ago, you wouldn't be saying that. Believe it or not I was your typical fat chick in middle school and high school. I got teased a lot but Val and Michelle always stuck up for me, even when people tried to convince them they shouldn't be friends with me." I said. I thought for a second and then laughed a little, "feel free to laugh at this but out of my whole twenty eight years of existence I've never even had a boyfriend..." I sighed, picking at a loose thread on my sweatshirt.

    I couldn't believe her whenever she said that she never had a boyfriend. I didn't want to tell her that I was starting to feel something for her, because I didn't know if she felt the same way, and I didn't know if I was fully ready to move on from Val. "Well, if it means anything, I'm sure the right guy will come along at some point," I told her "Hell, I probably will be single for the rest of my life..." I said softly, trailing off. The thought didn't really bother me, other than the fact that I would never get to see the woman that I had a child with ever again, I would never get to apologize, or remind her just how much I really loved her.

    "Nah, you'll find someone." I told him. I was about to say something else when the doorbell rang. "I bet that's the food." I said and watched Matt go to the door. I could tell by the smell that it was definitely our food. "Yay food." I said as he handed me mine. "Thank you." I smiled.

    I smirked lightly at her excitement. "Would you like something to drink? We've got beer, soda or water," i told her with a smile. I pulled a beer out of the fridge for myself and set it down by my food, I grabbed some forks for our food and waited for her to answer me on what she wanted to drink.
