Land of The Dead

Ada watched him and ran a hand through her hair lightly and nodded gently. "I'd never met him before, either." She replied watching as he paused awkwardly. "Alright. I will see you." She curtsied before beginning to walk away holding a hand to her chest lightly.

Augustus woke and moved to his armoury getting dressed in his armour and weapons once again. He pulled over his coat as usual and headed out to patrol the streets

Ada soon started to head back towards her home seeing the lanterns beginning to be lit. She passed the man lighting them and nodded her head to him.

Augustus looked calm and graceful. He glided across the pavement as he moved through the streets. His eyes darting over passerby. He clearly looked to be on a mission.

He was passing a cross street, close to Ada's home, when he was knocked off his feet.

Ada hummed softly to herself stopping when she heard something. She blinked following the noise to see Augustus knocked off his feet.

She figured it couldn't be good and hid behind a light post peeking out to see what was going on.

Augustus landed hard, on his newly healed arm. The hit a surprise, he hadn't heard the other party approaching. He rolled to his feet, looking up.

The other party was standing in the middle of the street, similarly covered in armour. His breath feral, and his eyes glowing a deep crimson red. He was clearly a vampire, and one who'd recently fed, but Augustus didn't recognise him from town.

Ada watched and frowned seeing the nwecomer. She thought that no one else in town wore armour except for Augustus.

She bit down on her lip watching the scene unfold. She shook her head, wanting to head home, but her home was just past this street and Augustus and the other vamprie blocked her path.

Augustus rose to his feet, his hand calm and at his sides, "brother, calm down," he said lightly. He moved forward, he clearly did recognise him, though. He looked at the vampire, 'how goes the war effort?" he asked.

The vampire, jumped at Augustus, moving into a fast moving flurry of attacks. "Don't tell me to calm down, Redfang," he snapped. The pair moved quickly, the newcomer attacking with his fists, and Augustus blocking, but not throwing a single attack.

Ada was confused as to what she was seeing. She was surprised by Augustus' words. She shivered as the wind blew heavily, blowing her hair all around her face. She lifted her hand to block it from her face.

When the vampire jumped at Augustus and started to move with attacks, she gasped before moving a hand over her mouth knowing for a fact that at least one of them had heard that. She bit down on her lip, pulling her cloak tighter to her body.

Augustus' head turned to look towards the street Ada was on, drawn by the gasp, and the smell of her scent. He turned the fight and began allowing the attacker to drive them away from her.

He looked at the attacker, "what happened brother? why can't we talk about this?" he asked, continuing to allow the clearly adept fighter to attack into his blocks.

Ada watched him seeing him beginning to go backwards and bit down on her lip not really knowing what to do. She watched them, but knew better than to begin to walk forward. She saw an opening for her door and wondered if she should try for it.

She was aware of the conversation, and then made a run for her door not wanting to be in the fight any longer than needed.

Augustus tried to keep his attention, but he'd noticed Augustus look towards the street. As soon as Ada ran into the open, he smirked. "What's that Redfang, a human? you ditched your brothers for a human," he called as he turned and rushed towards her.

Augustus chased trying to catch, but wasn't as fast as this guy.

Ada froze hearing him say human before continuing to run towards her home hoping to reach in time. She gasped seeing hands outstretched towards her, eyes beginning to widen out of fear. She moved back, falling onto her butt as she did so.

She shut her eyes tightly hoping she wouldn't feel any pain.

The vampire lifted Ada to her feet, stepping behind her. "So you left your team to die for this one?" he asked.

Augustus stepped back, "Please, Marcus, tell me what's going on?" he pleaded. His hand moved towards the hilt of a weapon on his side.

Marcus looked at him, "Our team wasn't the same without you, now they're all dead, those savages easily over powered us, the fresh blood you see, makes you stronger, faster," he began.

Ada felt him lift her to her feet slowly opening her eyes gently. She was surprised to hear his words and glanced back at him not liking him being so close.

Her sapphire eyes looked to find Augustus her eyes scared and wide. She watched his hand move to the hilt of his weapon and bit down on her lip.

Blood soon began to well up from her teeth breaking the thin skin of her lip. She didn't notice, but her blood dripped down to fall onto her chin. She heard Marcus speaking and tried to pull away from him. She didn't have the strength to speak.

Augustus looked at Marcus, his eyes darting to the blood running down Ada's chin. He breathed deeply, "Marcus, are you telling me they're all dead?" he asked.

Marcus looked at him, 'Yes, and so will your human pet, if you don't explain how you could leave," he snapped.

Augustus froze, "Marcus Lei è la mia anima," he said desperately stepping forward. "Please, let as talk, I'll explain everything, and if you're not happy with the explanation, kill me," he said.

Ada quit biting on her lip seeing Augustus staring and his eyes beginning to turn colors. She gasped when his arm tightened around her and whimpered wanting to be tougher, but she was frightened at the moment.

She watched him before her eyes widened hearing Marcus' threat to kill her if he didn't explain.

Her brows furrowed hearing Augustus speak wondering what it meant before seeing him step forward. She shook her head desperately wishing him not to infuriate the other vampire more than he already was. "Please." She whispered wanting to go see her Papa and mother. She had one hand grasped on a necklace they had given her for her birthday.

Marcus looked at Augustus, and froze, "Wait are you serious?" he asked him. Augustus looked at him, "please, lets go to my place, and we can chat," he said lightly.

Marcus looked at Ada, "only if you let me bring her, I want to make her watch me kill you, you your explanation is shit," he said.

Augustus looked at Ada, and mouthed, 'sorry'. "Fine, but let her walk," he said.

Ada heard his words and just kept ahold of her necklace not knowing what to do. She watched him not wanting to turn around and see the glowing eyes that scared her.

She gasped haering him say he was going to make her watch him get killed if his explanation was not what he wanted it to be. She just wanted to go home.

Ada gave a smalal nod when Augustus mouthed to her 'sorry'. She looked back at Marcus hoping he would let her go. She could feel herself trembling.

Marcus sighed, and let his hold of Ada go. He reached for the hilt of a weapon on his side. "If she runs I'll hit her in the back," he commented.

Augustus moved over to her, and put his arm around her, 'Come on I've got you," he said lightly. He began walking towards his home with her.
