Evelynn chuckled. "I know it's like a ninety's kid's bedroom." she admitted. When he said there was something else more interesting she looked down her cheeks flaming as his fingers cohered her to look up at him the soft brushing touch of his skin on hers. She watched him as he leaned in her own lips lifting to meet his. She ran her hands to his chest holding onto his shirts his lips pressed to her own sending shivers down her back. His lips were cool and sensual. They went slow against hers causing a building desire for intensity inside of her as he slowly pulled her closer. She wrapped her arms around his neck as her legs started to wobble. How could he kiss her like he had been doing it for years. His touch was more intoxicating that any of the alcohol that had since warn out of her system. Evelynn wondered how in the world she was suppose to keep her cool in front of him when things felt so right and it didn't feel like they had just met. Evelynn hummed as the kiss slowly broke. She left her eyes closed and licked her lips before pressing her head to his shoulder. "Winston..." she looked up at him her eyes sparkling in the dim light like a city at twilight. She trembled lightly in his arms words failing her like never before.
Alec smiled softly. "I am sorry to have put you on edge Maddy. I haven't actually helped that many people so my skills at tactfulness in sensitive matters such as personal lives is a little lacking but I have been trying to not ask probing questions. Guess that didn't work out." he said and stood moving to the balcony and turning towards her leaning back just needing to stand. "To answer your question it is more complicated than I am sure you are intending but to be short it doesn't matter. As hard as it is to believe I really do not want anything you can give." He paused watching her and sighed admiring he needed to tell her the reasons. "The reason I am doing this is because someone did the same for me once... well I have been helped in many hard times honestly. It was their words and care and not probing that caused me to rethink somethings and brought me to astounding heights I would not have reached without those moments. So you could say this is my way of giving back. Perhaps I am not very good but I still would like to try. One thing that all of the people who helped me had in common was that they asked me not to lie to them. I could not answer all I want but walking around an answer was the same as lying to them so I had to truthfully tell them I didn't want to talk about it, or sometimes if it really stung a nerve to fuck off." he chuckled. "It is something I hope you will understand. I can simply sit here in silence with you or you can tell me to screw off on particular questions. That's up to you." he grinned softly. "If you like you could ask the questions for a change and perhaps you won't feel like I am probing since you will gaining intell on me." he smiled like he was chuckling his eyes sparking with his amusement.

His hand came up and slowly ran down Evie's cheek. Winston could feel her trembling in his hands, he could hear how hard her heart was beating. There was so much going on in that human body of hers and he just wanted a moment to savor it all. Winston let silence fill the air as he took it all in. Though, after a moment, he knew it was time to speak. He couldn't force this moment to last forever.

His hand dropped from her face and slowly wrapped around her waist. Winston's hold on her was loose, giving Evie the opportunity to move out. Though, for him, it was more about her wanting to stay in, to stay close to him. A smile graced the prince's face. How could this human girl make him so deliriously happy? Winston just wanted to claim Evie for himself. It seemed so foolishly selfish, considering he had only met her an hour ago but it was how he felt. Though, despite his desire, Winston knew the importance of moving much much slower. "I would like to see you again. To go on a real date."
A deep frown moved over Madeline's face, seemingly growing the longer he spoke. She felt uncomfortable at the idea of it, being honest with a stranger. Even if she was allowed to tell him to fuck off, that still revealed more than Madeline was really intending with him... Madeline was used to, and comfortable with, the masks people wore to hide themselves and their true feelings. She was fine with dancing around questions or people. Expecting people to lie to get what they wanted and for her to do the same. Though it seemed Alec was not that way and she did not know how to take that. Apparently, he was just who he was, that there was nothing more than what Alec revealed.

The woman ran her fingers through her hair before burying her hands into the pouch of the hoodie. Even if she wanted to be honest with him, that wasn't an option. Madeline knew things she was never suppose to repeat. Doing so could cause damage to herself, family, friends and even more political and vampire nation issues than she could count... "We don't all need the same things. Just because it helped you doesn't mean it will help me." Her eyes lifted up to him. "Please don't expect me to be honest with you, because I can't. I owe you because you helped me but..." Madeline sighed. She knew she shouldn't go into why she couldn't be truthful with him. "Please ask for something else. Is there anything that you want? Something that you need?"

Evelynn felt his arm drop from her face and she leaned into his chest as he held her still. She rested her head against his shoulder and sighed trying to get her racing pulse under control. She felt like he could have pinned her against the wall and had his way with her and she wouldn't have minded but like a true gentleman he was just holding her with made the feeling all the worse because now she wanted him more. Evelynn smiled looking up at him as he said he wanted to see her again and to have a real date. She chuckled. "Please tell me how this is not a date?" she shook her head. "Yes I would love to see you again and go on a date." she said and stepped back taking his hand. "I will give you my number." she said and grinned.

Evelynn looked around the room then back at him. "Come on let's go find a cozy spot for a moment." she said and took him out of the room back into the light finding a room with comfy chairs and sitting in one. She pulled out her phone and unlocked it putting in contact mode. She wrote his name in and handed it to him. "Does this also mean you are about to say goodnight?" she asked grinning. It felt like she could not sleep for days with him around but she knew it was very early in the morning and the day would be coming soon.
Alec sighed. He hung his head. "I do not need or want anything. But if you don't want to be honest with me then you are going to have to do the talking or be okay with the silence. You're right not everyone needs the same things but there is one thing all people need, to be accepted for being themselves. I was just hoping you would be your honest self but if you are uncomfortable with that it is not my place to push because I did not help you to gain anything." he looked back up at her and smiled sadly. "Please do not think I will force you into anything but I simply ask you to respect my request tat you don't lie to me. If you need to do anything else to avoid that then I will accept that but please it is the one thing I will not be able to accept." he said and took the empty cup. "Would you like a blanket?" he asked thinking it would be nice to bring to her.

Alec walked inside and cleaned up the kitchen before coming back out and sitting again. He could not imagine what her truth was that was so terrible that she could not trust a stranger or even face it herself. It saddened him to see someone to caught up in something, to be so deep in that they were bound by it. She might not feel that way but from the outside that is what it looked like.

"Just message me and I will have your number too. And I suppose this is like a date. I just mean I would like to see you again, perhaps a bit earlier in the day." The vampire chuckled a but at the thought. Winston took Evie's phone and put his public number into it. He had his private one, which Winston was kinda inclined to give her but unfortunately, he did know better than that. After handing it back to Evie, Winston smiled a bit sadly at her. He knew that it was becoming early and that the sun was going to be up soon. It would be best if he headed home before it was too later. Otherwise, he was going to be stuck in this coffee shop. "Yes, it does mean I will be saying goodnight. It is almost morning."

Leaning forward, Winston started to lean in to press his lips against hers again. Though right as he was about to do so, a deep, displeased voice came from above them. "I have been looking for you all over." Winston let out a slightly annoyed sigh before leaning back into his seat and looking up at a Man that was hovering over them. "Do you know how late it is?" He asked pointedly, taking a moment to narrow his eyes slightly at Evie before moving his attention back to Winston.
Madeline took the blanket that Alec had gotten for her. She wrapped it around her body before laying her head head against the chair. All she had wanted to do was relax but this had turned into a rather stressful conversation for her. It would be so much easier if Alex was a greedy man like she had been worried about before. Though, unfortunately, he was not. Instead, Alec was a kind soul... an honest man that for some ridiculous reason wanted to try to better her as a person. This was not what Madeline needed right now.

It took Madeline a few minutes to think before she glanced back at Alec again. She suppose that his compromise was doable. "I will not lie to you... but I will not answer all of your questions." The woman glanced back down at the blanket, slowly running her hands over it and smoothing it out. Things would be much easier if she would have just made it to the goddamn hotel. But now she didn't even have any money. "And I do not mind silence." She laid her head back against the chair, looking up at the beautiful night sky. At least she had this. "...Actually I am beginning to get tired."

Evelynn nodded not having thought about texting him her number. "Oh yeah right." she chuckled. He suggested an earlier time for a date and she nodded. "Yeah I would like to spend more time with you on a longer date." she smiled enjoying these moments and hating that they were nearly at the end of their night. Once she got her phone back she pocketed it and turned to him. She leaned into him as he leaned in towards her to kiss him a silly smile on her face then the sound of a voice startled her. She gasped and put a hand on her chest and sat back.

Evelynn looked up at the new guy standing over them and she blinked feeling like she was being shamed for being with Winston but then she sat up. "I'm sorry who are you?" she asked and raised an eyebrow. She might have been shocked into some kind of a response but she wasn't going to be bullied into a feeling something when she had an amazing time with Winston. Evelynn looked over at Winston. He didn't seem surprised to see this guy. She frowned and blinked looking between the two guys. This was odd but she was sure she would understand here soon. "Do you know this guy Winston?" she asked.
Alec nodded as she agreed to their compromise. He sighed guessing it was all he could hope for. And he really wouldn't be able to tell if she did lie or not to him. Alec chuckled as she said she didn't mind silence. "Of course you don't but to be honest it makes me feel a little crazy." he said and shrugged. "It's okay I will deal with it." They were relaxing when suddenly Madeline decided that she was ready for bed. "Alright, but you're not walking this time, sorry not ready for a full lap around the apartment yet." he said and stood swooping her up into his arms and carrying her inside. He was quiet as he carried her into the house.

Alec maneuvered her into his bedroom and laid her down gently. He smiled and helped her get situated. "Anything you need before bed?" he asked. He would go and close up the house for day before coming to bed. He loved his couch but it was not the best spot to sleep on. He was going to sleep in his own bed tonight as well. "Hey I should let you know I'm not sleeping on the couch tonight. I'm not so worried about hurting you through the night now so I'm going to sleep back in my bed." he said and drew the blinds in the bedroom covering up the windows.

Winston let out a sort of disappointed sigh before nodding and standing up. "Yes, I do know him." He said before shooting back a glare at the man. "This is my friend, Orion. I do apologize for his rudeness though. It is my fault as I did anciently ditch him tonight but it is still uncalled for." Winston looked back at Orion, standing up straighter, as if warning the man to back down. It was a long moment, Orion meeting the challenge before giving Winston a very short nod, as if conceeding - for now.

Orion glanced down at Evie, looking her up and down for a moment, almost disapprovingly. "I do not appreciate being bailed on, I am sure that you can understand that miss." He then moved back to Winston, not wanting to spend much time on a woman that, in all honesty, was below Winston and a danger to his safety. "We should get going now."

The man nodded before motioning Orion to give them a moment. Though, the man stayed firmly in place, refusing to back off. Winston shook his head at Orion but turned his attention back to Evie. "I am sorry but I should go." He moved in and pressed a kiss against her cheek. "Send me a text when you get home safely." With that, Winston headed out of the coffee shop with Orion.
As Alec carried her, Madeline leaned into his chest. "Maybe I'll be strong enough tomorrow." She said hopefully, even though Madeline knew it was unlikely. Already, she was not healing as quickly as she wanted. Though she was beaten pretty harshly and Madeline was under enough stress. Both mental and pushing herself too hard.

The woman lifted her head up for a moment, looking at Alec, taking him in. She then nodded to him. "Okay. Just be careful." Madeline shifted over so that there was room for Alec to lay down in the bed as well. It was a little odd but she didn't really mind it much. There was only one bed in the apartment, and despite her current annoyance with Alec, she still thought him a good man. She was not worried about him doing anything. He had proven himself to her for Madeline not to worry.

Madeline pulled her hood over her head before wrapping herself up in one of the blankets. The woman laid her head on the pillow, and now was just watching Alec with curious eyes as he got ready for bed. "How do you normally sleep?" She asked, now wondering if he snored or moved a lot. Madeline didn't exactly want to get hit with a hand.

Evelynn frowned as Orion talked down on her causing her to rise to her feet as well and take a step back so he either had to step back or face her nearly nose to nose. "I appreciate the situation but if you will excuse us we were just saying good night and I am sure you will both will have a nice walk home and Winston can catch you up on our wonderful night." she said and smiled at him glad when he turned away and she took a deep breath letting it go slowly her pulse elevated with the anger she was trying to hard to control.

Evelynn sighed as Winston turned to her and she hugged her arms to herself closing her eyes a moment looking away before nodding and looking up at him softening slowly. "Don't be sorry I am very glad to have had this night with you." she said and placed a hand on his arm as he leaned in kissing her cheek. "I will see you again soon." she said and leaned in placing her soft lips gently to his cheek as well lingering a moment breathing him in before she stepped back. She smiled as he asked her to text when she was home safe. It was sweet that he would care she made it home fine and gave her the feeling that if they had a moment more a lone he would have offered to walk her home as well. Perhaps it was best though because then she would tempt him with coming inside.

Evelynn watched him leave with his friend and smirked. She took it as a personal challenge to get to know this friend if they ever meet again. If she could get past his over protective friend perhaps they would have less interruptions in the future because they did seem close if not tense at the moment. Evelynn took her bag and headed back to the dorm room staying vigilant in the early morning. Once she was inside and the door was locked she sighed and kicked off her shoes carrying them to her room. She dropped them int he corner and started to undress. She grabbed her phone once she was in her undergarments and hummed as she wrote out a text to Winston. 'I did really enjoy tonight and I hope to see you again soon. Just letting you know I am home safe and I hope the rest of your night is pleasant. -Evie' She added a kiss emoji and sent it before going and showering. Once she was crawled in bed she smiled deliriously, her mind was filled with visions of Winston.
Orion walked out with Winston and was silent at first wanting to be sure they were out of ear shot. "I know you hate being watched but I have a job to do and you can't go shaking me because of some human girl. I could go on and on about how reckless and irresponsible it was but it has never worked before so why even bother?" Orion walked close to Winston. It was getting early and it would be a close one to beat the first rays of sun. Winston had cut it to close because of that girl but Orion had been surprised that unlike most the human girls Winston picked up she wasn't fed from, nor did he find his best friend in a bed with a naked and half delirious human. There was something different he could tell, even Winston was acting different. "So what's up, what happened tonight?" he asked. He couldn't see it right of the bat like he might have with a level head but he had been sick with worry he had actually lost the Prince and what might have happened during that time. Luckily his training was effective, even if at times it was slow.
Alec smiled. "We'll start with just sitting up without wincing how about that?" he chuckled. She was stubborn and as frustrating as it was it was also quite endearing. He smiled as she reacted well to the news. He nodded and stepped out to lock up and block out the light sources for the day before coming back and pulling off his shirt. He was aware of Madeline watching him, stying him like she was trying to figure him out. He let her sit in the silence that she was so comfortable with. Alec tossed his shirt in the hamper and stepped int the bathroom changing and getting ready coming back in sweats. He was walking to the light turning on the lamp and turning off the overnight when she asked her question. He laughed and sat on the side of the bed. "I am not sure what you are asking, I never had that question before." he said and grinned. "But if it does make you feel better I am unlikely to really move around so I think you are safe from random sleep snuggles." He winked at her and slipped beneath the sheets.

Alec turned off the lamp. "Don't worry Maddy you're safe and you won't have any bother from me. I haven't had any complaints before." he chuckled under his breath and got situated with his pillow and laying in his bed. He yawned, it was late and he was glad to be getting some rest. Alec took a deep breath and slowly let it out and he was complexly ready for sleep to take over entirely relaxed. Alec hoped what if Madeline was uncomfortable that his relaxed state would help her to find some way to eventually relaxed. He did notice that she seemed to love that sweater he got and was glad he made a good choice there. Alec hoped she would heal up just fine, he didn't see any reason for her not to if she actually would allow herself to relax enough to let her body work.

(I am sorry, I thought I responded to this!)

"I just didn't want to feel like someone was breathing down my neck." Winston said as he shot Orion a glare. He was rather annoyed that the man had interfered with their goodnight kiss. And it really rubbed him the wrong way how he had treated Evie when coming in. However, the prince felt it difficult to be too angry with Orion. Now that they were outside, it was clear that Winston had lost track of time. Too much longer and he probably would have been stuck in that coffee shop, or somewhere else. Besides, unfortunately, it was Orion's job to be his annoying bodyguard.

Winston let out a sigh before rubbing the back of his neck. "Can't you ever just give me a couple of hours to myself? Geez." Even though he asked, Winston already knew the answer to the question. It was basically impossible. Orion was too afraid of something happening to him... Plus it was his ass on the line if something did happen to Winston. The prince shook his head a bit before beginning to speed up, wanting to get home before the sun came up. "Nothing was going to happen with that girl. You think I can't take on these humans on this college campus? Their strength is similar to our babies!"
"No, I am just hoping that you don't snore." Madeline said as she slowly turned back in the bed so her back was facing him. A small groan emitted from her as she did so. Though once she was settled, her body started to relax and she got more wrapped up in the blanket and sweatshirt. It was not long before the woman was fast asleep besides him. She really had no issue with sharing a bed with Alec. At this point, it was unlikely he would do anything to her. But she did like having the extra room...

Once morning came about, Madeline's head was laid against Alec's shoulder. As she came to consciousness, Madeline pulled away and buried her face further into the hood of the sweatshirt. A sigh coming from her lips as she shifted slightly in the bed. It took her a couple of minutes before her eyes opened up all of the way. Slowly, she glanced around the room before her eyes fell on Alec on her side. Madeline watched him for a moment before slowly pushing herself up into a sitting position, nothing instantly that some of the pain from this simple action had disappeared.

Orion stayed silent his eyebrow raised knowing that the prince knew the answers to all the questions and he smiled. "Human's have their ways, how many cautionary tales do you need to get that?" he asked and shook his head but the prince knew this. "And as far as that girl goes, I have a feeling you're not done with that one so don't try and play coy, next time I am tagging a long, even if you order my covertness." he said and crossed his arms.

    --

It was a the next weekend and Evie was getting ready to meet up with Winston again. He had invited her out and she said she would happily meet him wherever. Her roommate looked in on her. "Seriously though Evie you shouldn't be going out a lone with this guy, I have heard stories about some of the girls he hooked up with and it's not pretty. How about I just go with you and meet him. I won't be in the way long just long enough so he knows not to screw with you." Tamari said and Evie sighed. "If you let me barrow that cute little number then fine but hurry up and get ready. Evie said and Tamari laughed. "Deal!" she said handing over the cover that completed Evie's outfit. Evie finished getting ready then left with Tamari to go meet up with Winston. She was so excited and nervous. It wasn't long before she walked into the place and looked around for him bitting her bottom lip.
Alec woke in the morning as Maddy pulled away from him he stretched and rolled over onto his back resting his eyes. He heard her push herself up and he slowly sat up himself looking over at her. "Morning." he said his eyes looking over her. She was so beautiful. "Feeling peckish or are you wanting some time to freshen up?" he said and slipped out of bed stretching. He ruffled his hair and then moved over to his closet pulling out some cloths. He honesty was lost without work to be doing. He was not a home body at all but he would find something to do.

Alec looked bak at Maddy. "You look like you are starting to heal faster, it is a good thing to see." he said and grinned. "So what are your plans for today firecracker?" he teased grinning and feeling spunky this morning. He pulled off his shirt tossing it in the hamper and pulling a towel down and draping it around his neck.

Winston glanced over at Orion, seeing him hide among the other patrons before shaking his head. He had tried to get rid of the man. However, he had managed to find out where and when the date was. At that point, it was all over and there was nothing that Winston could do. Even changing the date last minute did not seem like a good option. He didn't want to come off as weird or freak Evie out. So, he was stuck with his shadow today.

Heading over to a booth, Winston sat down and waited for Evie. He had thought it would be a good idea for them to go to a trivia night at one of the local bars, but to have dinner beforehand. Winston looked over the restaurant, a smile coming along his lips as Evie entered. The man stood up and walked over to her. "Hey." Winston said before leaning in and kissing her cheek. Fuck, he could smell her and it was amazing. Slowly, he pulled away before glancing over at her friend? He smiled at her. "Hello."
"Morning." Maddy whispered to him, unable to find her full voice yet this early in the morning. Her eyes were still half closed, showing that she was not completely awake yet. She laid her head against the wall, watching him quietly as he moved throughout the room. "Food sounds good." She murmured to him. "And I want a shower. Can I take a shower now? Or a bath. Please, I feel so gross." So far, Alec had been stopping her from really getting clean because of her injuries but Maddy really wanted to push harder for one today.

"Firecracker?" Maddy said with a soft smile. That was kinda a cute nickname. "And yeah, I do feel a little better. Though my plan is to shower, and make a call." Her smile slowly turned into a smirk. "And, I suppose, having you carry me around the apartment a bit today." While Maddy did prefer to use her own legs, she was going to try and follow Alec's advice and take it easy. After all, she was feeling better today and maybe that is why. "What are you doing?"

Evie saw Winston and waved grinning as he came over and kissed her cheek. "Hey." she said. She was so excited to see him again. She got that same rush as the night they first met. She smiled and bit her lip as he looked at Tamari. "Oh sorry Winston this is Tamari, you remember her from the party right?" she grinned. "She wanted to be sure I got here okay." she said looking suggestively at her friend. Tamari rolled her eyes. "Winston." she shook his hand. "A pleasure to see you again." she said sizing him up. "I will just be around for a while." she said and gave him a suggestive look. "Just to get a feel." she said and kissed Evie's cheek. Evie giggled and shook her head watching her friend slip off into the crowd.

Evie turned to Winston and blushed. "Sorry about her, she really means well." she chuckled. "She heard we snuck off and she rang me a new one about strangers and such so when I said we were going out again she wanted to be sure you knew if I went missing she would be reporting you." she laughed and ran a hand through her hair. "She'll get bored after a while and slip off to find something more interesting." she promised and followed him back to the table he had for them. She slipped into her seat and smiled at him. "Thanks for inviting me out again." She said and bit her bottom lip gently. Evie realized that she was really glad to be here with Winston but it didn't matter where the here was though she wouldn't mind another of those knee weakening kisses like last time. Honestly she had no idea what all they were doing tonight, he had asked to see her again and she had said yes, where and when and that was all she needed. Evie didn't know what it was about him but she had to be around him. The moments she got with him were priceless and she wanted to figure out why and enjoy them too.
Alec chuckled as she said please. "Yes yes and I think a bath would be better for you but you have to promise not to try and get out of the tub by yourself. I'll make sure there is a cover within reach but I don't want you slipping and accidentally hurting yourself more." he said. He was quite glad she liked the nickname. She was hot and sparky like a firecracker her temper something he could see easily licking at the surface now and again. He grinned as she asked for his help carrying her in her own way. It made him glad she took some of his advice at least.

"Me? I have no idea... I guess try not to get cabin fever. I am in the habit of being quite busy and it's hard for me to do little." he chuckled. "I'll go get you something." he said and walked out going to get her some food for the morning. He brought it back and went to take a quick shower. He came back in a towel around his waist water still glistening over his skin and in his hair little droplets beaded at the ends and fell. He pulled on some pants under his towel and then took it off drying his hair. Alec smiled at her as he pulled on his shirt. "Ready for that bath?" he asked and pulled out a fluffy robe.

Winston took a moment to take Tamari in when they shook hands. He wasn't afraid of her by any means but he liked to know who he was dealing with. Especially if she was one of Evie's friends. It seemed like it would be important to remember her, as it seemed to be someone important to Evie. As for her checking him out for a bit tonight, Winston did not mind. He was used to having eyes on him. Besides, it seemed only fair since Orion was going to be watching them all night long.

Once the woman left, Winston turned his attention back to Evie, a smile moving over his face as he lead her over to the table. "I do not mind at all." He assured her. "I am sure that it is difficult to trust a stranger. Especially since the world does not seem to always be kind." Winston knew that humans had it harder than vampires. Even though they had to hide more, there were very few things that could take them on in a proper fight. Plus, vampires in general had a much more... refined society than humans. They didn't see woman the same it seemed humans did.

"Thank you for coming." Winston responded as he gently pushed a menu towards her. He had made sure to eat before coming out. Though, Winston still would need to have a human meal. "I am glad to see you. How are you doing?"
Madeline drank her breakfast up, pleased once again with the meal. Admittedly, the blood that Alec had his hands on was actually quite good. She set the glass down as he walked out of the bathroom, glancing over the mostly naked man before looking the other way. He was very attractive, there was no doubting that. Though, she was definitely in a look only, no touch situation with him. Even if Alec was not aware of that. "Well I have a feeling that I will keep you busy."

Once he asked about her bath, Madeline told him she was ready and waited for Alec to come pick her up. Soon, she was alone in the bathroom. It took Madeline some time before she was able to undress and get the bathtub full. But once she was settled, the woman was very pleased. Madeline happily stayed in the bathtub for an hour or so. Once she finished up, Madeline let the tub drain before wrapping herself up in the robe. "Alec?" Madeline called out for him as she pulled the robe tight on her body.

Evie smiled as Winston pushed the venue towards her. He was so sweet as usual. She looked down at the menu deciding easily. "Oh please it is my pleasure to be here with you." She set the menu down and looked at him blushing to see him watching her. "I am glad to see you too. I am good. Just been busy writing for class and all." she said and smiled softly at him. "And what about you mystery man what have you been up to?" she asked him. She didn't tell him but she had been looking for him on campus. She chalked it up to him being more in the law side of campus than her for the reason she didn't see him but she had hoped he would suddenly appear even if it had been a ridiculous desire.

"So how did it do with Orion? Did he grill you the entire walk home?" she chuckled. "I know Tamaria got me the next day sayings I should have told her where I was going." she chuckled. "Friends right?" Evie grinned. The waiter came and they ordered. She grinned as the waiter set the milkshake in front of her. She hummed and ate the cherry first. "What to see something kind of silly by tricky?" she asked and put the stem in her mouth. It was a minute later and she took it out of her mouth and showed him the knot in the stem. She chuckled and ran her hand through her hair setting it down to sip at her milkshake. Evie couldn't help herself but already enjoy Winston and his company. Tonight was going to be a good night.
Alec came back and grinned as she said she was ready for her bath. He took her in holding her to him and admittedly was enjoying the closeness. Alec set her down on the tub and left her to her shower. He used the her to clean up his room and change the sheets starting some laundry. When he heard her call for him he couldn't help hearing the shyness in her voice. He walked tot he door knocked and then went in when she was ready. He lifted her from the tub. He set her onto the bed and placed her clean cloths beside her. "Let me know when you're ready to out me to work again." he chuckled and walked out of the room closing the door. He headed tot he kitchen doing dishes and checking his blood supplies. It seemed he had a couple more days. He was drinking and sitting on the counter waiting for her to be done. He was sure dressing was not easy when you really couldn't stand up easily on your own. He bit his lip and wondered what they were going to do for the rest of the day. He was going to hold her to her promise to keep him busy after her phone call.

"What have I been up to?" Winston said with a light chuckle. There was a lot that he had been up to in the last week but half of it he couldn't really tell her about. Which, for the moment, he was rather glad for. He doubted she would react well to it. "The same as you, going to classes and studying. Well, a some soccer though that would be about it. I just had some exams last week so those have been keeping me quite busy." In reality, Winston was finding college rather easy. Though, he knew why he was the case. Unlike the humans, he had been alive for quite a while longer. In addition to that, he had more time in his day as he required less to live.

"Yes, I would say that Orion grilled me and was rather annoying, in truth." Winston said, knowing perfectly well that his bodyguard could hear him. Though, it didn't matter much. He was sure that Orion was aware that the prince was not pleased with how things had gone down. Winston's mind quickly changed speed as Evie showed him her little trick. A smile came over his face, a chuckle leaving him as well. He found it rather entertaining. "Impressive." Winston said with a grin. "I suppose it is my turn to show you a trick then?"

With that, Winston leaned forward and pressed his lips lightly against hers, in a soft kiss. He pulled out, smiling up at her as he did so. "Well, what do you think?"
(I am just going to assume that Alec would bring her to the phone without issue or question)

It did take Madeline some time to get herself dressed. Doing so involved groans, gasps, shots of pains and needing to take a break or two. The task was not as easy as she had hoped. Though once it was done, Madeline was all warmed up and comfortable in the black leggings and sweatshirt that Alec had gotten to her. Once the pain subsided again, Madeline called Alec back in and asked him to bring her to the phone and for a moment of privacy.

Madeline leaned against the chair that Alec set her in, glancing down at the phone in her hands. She felt uncomfortable having to call the main house on his phone. It meant that he would have the number on his records. And if he were to call, someone would be there to answer the phone with her last name. Though, with how Alec had been acting so far, Madeline was beginning to believe that he wouldn't do something so nosy. So, she took a deep breath before entering the number and calling.

It was a relatively short conversation, just letting her mother know what had happened to her, and what she was going to need soon. While it wasn't unusual for vampires to disappear for any length of time, she knew that the family would find it nerve wracking considering the mission she was on. Soon enough, there was a plan in place to get Madeline the things she would need, both for the mission but also just to live. Like clothes, money and a way to get blood again. As the conversation ended, Madeline reassured her. "Yes. Yes. Yes, mother. I promise. Please... No, of course not. I can handle it. I assure you that the prince will be dealt with."

Madeline hung up, letting out a small sigh as she did so. After a few minutes of recollecting her thoughts, Madeline called Alec back out. "Thank you for letting me borrow your phone." She said as she set it down to the side.

Evie grinned. "You will have to invite me to play some time." she said grinning. "Do you have a team you play with and against or do you just take shots?" she asked curious how he played soccer to decompress. It sounded like so much fun and she really wanted to spend more time with him. She knew how some of those tests could be, sometimes she wondered how she ever came out of her hole when there was a test to do. She bit her lip looking at Winston. She was still amazed that he was so interested in her.

Evie grinned as he was impressed with her trick. He said he would show her his own and she grinned brightening up with delight. He leaned in catching her completely off guard and she felt her stomach flip as she kissed him back. When he finally pulled back she sat back and took in a breath. "Wow." she giggled and blushed. It was something in how he kissed she was sure. She bit her lip knowing he was a gentleman and she loved that but there was still a part of her, even sober, that wanted to sleep with him. She was sure he was a fantastic lover, in fact she had no doubts about it in her mind.

"I will take that kind of trick any day. But if you thought that was impressive I have so many more tricks up my sleeve and you will just have to wait and see when they come out." she grinned. Evie smiled as the food was brought out and dug into it. She didn't realize how hungry she was until she was eating and feeling herself finally starting to relax and feel better.
    {Of course he said he would ;)}

Alec smiled as Maddy called him in. She asked for the phone and he gave her his leaving her to make her call. He was running out of things to do in the house and ended up bing watching some show on TV until he heard Maddy call for him once again. He rose and went to her. He smiled. "Have a nice chat? everyone satisfied I am taking good care of my ward?" he teased and took the phone she handed back to him. He shoved his phone in his pocket and smiled.

"So are they coming to bust you out of interrogation 101?" he asked again teasing her. He hadn't considered that she might leave when she was able to get in contact with someone. He would be sad to see her go so soon but would be happy she got back to what was calm for her. Healing was the most important thing she needed to be doing right now. "So the phone call went well?" he asked in all seriousness. she didn't seem happy but neither did she seem particularly upset over the phone call.

Alec ran a hand through his hair and sat down on the bed. "What job do you have lined up for me next Maddy?" he asked her his eyebrows wiggling playfully. He hoped she knew he was only just playing and didn't expect answers and he was guessing that his current mood probably helped.

Winston chucked and nodded in agreement. "I am sure that your tricks are much better than mine." He really wanted to see what Evie had up her sleeves... And tonight he was actually prepared for it if things were to head that way. His room was clean and everything that needed to be hidden was. There was really nothing Orion could do to stop him if things headed that way. In addition, Winston made sure to have a lot of blood before coming out tonight.

"And I play with a team. It's just the intramural league but it's not serious at all. There almost always seems to be people at the soccer fields though, if you want to come sometime. Though I normally don't go until the evening, just too busy during the day." Winston gave her a bit of a smile. He wondered if she would ever find it odd that he was only around at night.

Once Evie started to dig into her food, Winston did the same. Though he was more calm about it. He already filled himself up on blood so the human food wasn't super appealing to him at the moment. However, he was always happy to have ice cream and easily finished two chocolate shakes before they finished. Once done, Winston paid for the bill and moved his attention back to her. "Are you ready to go?"
Madeline looked up at Alec as he walked into the room. He gave him a little nod. "Yes, they are thankful that you found me and I assured them that you were taking good care of me." She told him. As for having her leave... "Actually no, no one can come to get me and they are hoping that I can stay with you for the time being so that someone can watch over me. They wanted me to let you know that you will be paid for your effort." In truth, they thought this was the perfect alibi when everything goes down. Plus, they thought it was better than having a room or house with her name on it so close to the Prince's death.

"The call went well and they are going to send some things that I'll have to pick up. I hope that is okay. Just some clothes and money." Madeline was neither happy or upset with how the call at went. In the least, she was going to be getting everything that she needed and wanted without issue. However, Madeline wasn't particularly happy that her mother cared more about the mission than how she was doing. She hadn't even asked if Madeline wanted to postpone it...

"Job?" Madeline said, breaking out of her thoughts. Though once she understood, a soft smile came over her lips. "Well, actually, it would be nice if we could go aside and maybe go pick up my things?" She said as she looked up at him curiously. "Or do you not want to carry me around?" Madeline teased him a little.

Evie chuckled as he hinted at her talents and she winked at him. "You'll have to stick around and find out." she said. He told her about his team and smiled nodding. "I would be terrible on a team first time. I mean sure I kicked around a soccer ball with family before but nothing as far as rules or anything other than don't touch the ball and put it in the net." she laughed. Evie was glad the had their nice dinner enjoying each other's company and the easy conversations. It was easy being with Winston no matter what they were doing at least so far. Evie knew she was getting way ahead of herself in her mind.

Winston asked if she was ready and she nodded. "Oh yes I have never done this before so I am excited and we are so going to cream the other team like cream of corn!" she laughed at her bad joke. Winston paid and she smiled. He was so very chivalrous. They stood and she moved to his side her arm circling his as they headed out of the little dinner and out towards the night they had planned.

They were walking there so Evie took the opportunity to ask Winston a few questions. "Okay so as a major in all things people I have to know, what is your favorite color?" she asked him. A favorite color could be very revealing which was was going to entirely tell him once he told her his.
Alec grinned. "Well I am happy to help and I don't need anything I am very comfortable." he said and smiled at her. "It's good they can at least send some things for you. You must be anxious to get some of your own cloths back." he said and smiled at her liking to see her in the sweats but sure it wasn't really what she wanted to wear.

He laughed as she challenged him. "Oh please it is no bid deal to help you get your things but they will be ready so soon?" he asked her. Alec ran a hand through his hair ruffling it. He leaned against the wall as they talked. She had an odd family. If his family had called him he would have dropped just about anything to get to the someone that needed him but then he was that kind of a person. Alec believed that people were inherently good.

"Were are they dropping your things off at?" he asked curiously. Alec of course would help her with anything she wanted and apparently that also meant she wanted to get out of the house which was just fine to him.

Winston took a moment as Evie asked about his favorite color. There was something about the way she asked that made him think that it was more than a simple question. Though, when it came down to it, he was going to tell her the truth. "You know, I used to say that purple was my favorite color but I now believe that it might actually be a navy blue." He hummed before continuing. "Why do you ask? I feel like there is something more going on than just getting to know me."

A smile moved across his lips as he led Evie down the street. They were about two blocks away from the bar that they were going to. Not a long walk but it would give them some time away from all the noise and chaos that was sure to follow. Though, he was hoping that the crowded bar would make her move in closer. "What is your favorite color?"

Gently, Winston brought Evie in a bit closer to him, as if trying to warm her up in the cool night. Though, he was sure that his body heat - or rather lack thereof - would not be able to do the trick. But it did allow him a moment to look behind them both and see Orion lurking in the shadows. The prince knew he would see the man but that did not change his hope that he would not have followed.
"Yes, everything should be ready in two hours. They are having one of their people take care of it and drop it off for me." Madeline told him, not really thinking about how that would sound. She was still mostly focused on the conversation with her mother. "They would have just sent them here but they don't have time to buy everything and drop it off. Plus I don't really know where we are anyway."

Shrugging, Madeline continued on. "Anyways, everything will be dropped off at Hopple Mall in the Security Office. Apparently one of the night guards there is one of us." After a moment, Madeline's head lifted up and she gave Alec a soft smile. "It will be nice to get out of the house for a little while. Though, while I am looking forward to the clothes that I normally wear, I do enjoy the sweatshirts that you bought for me."

The woman closed her eyes and buried her face in the neck and hood of the sweatshirt wrapped around her. The items Alec bought for her were so loose that it took some getting used to, but the sweatshirts were undeniably more comfortable than her normal clothes. "You don't mind that I stay for a while longer do you?" Madeline said after a moment, looking up at Alec. At this point, while it would give away her location, Madeline could leave. Of course, it would make her a suspect once the deed was done but that didn't change that Madeline didn't want to keep stacking up her debt to Alec. Plus, Madeline wasn't sure how she would take care of herself in her current condition.

"Dark blue huh? Dark blue is serious, powerful and controlled. but your affection for purple even past leads me to believe you have a soft genuine side that you hide under that cool exterior." She chuckled. "Color can be a big part of political speeches because it is the vivid part of the speech, the things you are communicating with that the viewer can see. I took a few classed in psychology." she chuckled. "It's silly maybe but it's interesting."

Winston asked her favorite color and she grinned. "My favorite color is green, like dark complex green, forest green if you have to pick one." she grinned and chuckled. "Though bumble bee yellow is a close second. I think it's the way that sunlight filters through the trees that really expresses the love I have for these colors." she chuckled.

Evie leaned into Winston as he gently pulled her closer. She snaked her arm around the back of his waist as his rested over her shoulder. She grinned a tint on the tops of her ears at the contact. It was so sweet it made her very aware of him. He smelled like old books and pine. It was a very comforting sent that made her want to press her nose to his neck and just stand there like that with him but they kept walking.
Alec nodded listening. Her life sounded lonely but instead of saying so he touched her shoulder gently and smiled. "Yeah it will be nice to get out." he said taking her reluctance to talk about herself and her life and letting it go. He was trying to think of what they could go and do while she was still recovering that might keep them out of the house a bit longer. "Afterwards would you like to go on a drive? There is a nice little night secret drive that is great for rolling down the windows and singing along to the radio." he smiled and knew it was probably very boring but it was a good place to think or not think if you were looking to.

Alec grinned as she she enjoyed the sweaters. "I am really glad to hear it. I don't think there are many things better than an oversized sweater and a good blanket to get you through any hard time." he smiled at her. She asked if she could stay and he smiled more. She was so undeniably cute snuggled into her sweater like she had never had anything so comfortable in her life.

"Yeah of course you can stay Maddy." Alec said and rubbed his head his hair getting messy in the best ways. "I enjoy your company." he said honestly. "Have you ever had a prickly pear?" he asked her suddenly. He needed to find them some kind of an indoor activity they could do too. Maybe it was time to break out a puzzle or something they could work on.

A light laugh came from Winston as she explained what his colors meant. It was very interesting...and he was curious how much she followed the idea. At least, if she did, the words that she used to describe him were positive. "It does sound interesting." Winston agreed as he glanced down at the woman. The way she found her favorite colors were heartwarming to him, but he had to stop a frown from coming over his face.

"Well, since you apparently know so much about me from my favorite colors, you should tell me yours," Winston said with a bit of a smirk on his lips. He gently squeezed her before continuing on. "Tell me, what does Forest Green and Bumble Bee Yellow mean? Besides the fact that you enjoy sitting outside under a tree on a nice sunny day." That was something he would never be able to do with her, and it seemed to be something that she cared about. Was even dating a human possible? Winston couldn't help but wonder if he was a bit over his head here.

Though those concerns were quickly pushed down for later as they came up to the bar. Already, the area was quite full as teams got prepared for trivia. But, luckily, they were able to snag a table for two. Once Evie was settled in, Winston turned to her. "I'll get our drinks while you hold down the table. What would you like from the bar?"
"A drive would be really nice." Madeline agreed. While she didn't care much for sitting in a car, just being outside of his apartment would be a treat. Being able to look out the window and see different things pass by... see how the rest of the world was going on during her little murder mission. And surely a 'nice little night secret drive' wouldn't be full of people. She still needed to be careful about being seen. Though, Madeline definitely did not look much like herself at the moment, weak and in 'comfy clothes'.

The woman looked down at the sweatshirt that was wrapped around her. She let out a small hum in response to him. "Yeah... it's nice." Madeline murmured before looking back at Alec. Sweatshirts weren't really something her family wore, even during hard times. Though it seemed best to keep that to herself. A small smile came over her lips as Alec agreed to let her stay. That did make things much easier for her. And she was beginning to like Alec's company. "Thank you."

"I don't know what a prickly pear is," Madeline responded as she tilted her head slightly. "Is it human food? Or some kind of plant?" They had the gardens and greenhouse at home, but she had never heard of such a thing. Though, she didn't really care for any of the plants that were on her property. Nor was it too often that she ate human food. Blood was all the nutrition a vampire needed.
