Only two characters that are similar to me have ever made in onto this website XD
And I've had a few plotlines about what I went through last year, but...they need to be improved. Greatly.

Some of Ryan's characters remind me of myself because he reminds me of myself.

Most of the times, my characters come from my friends and people I know. However, they end up being who I wish I was.
In Keep a Watchful Eye, Emily's kind and caring and so loving.
In Permanent, she's willing to move forward with her life.

Most of my characters have something mine.
It's those little things people don't notice.
In You and Me Forever the girl smokes the same brand of cigarettes as I do and loves the same type of coffee.
In Sugar Marshmallows Emanuela is a portrayal of my unfulfilled dream of being a chef. And the fact that I know to cook.
The girls from my one-shots have the same vice. They either have or had an addiction to something. And they are all blondes.
All of my males are or were me at some point.

Some of the feelings represent mine. Especially my Dean Winchester one-shots, I tend to put myself in his shoes, or focus on what I see in the mirror and deal with them as him.

I thought of a name for a character in a story based off my name, because I think Letty would be good nickname from Violet - but I know I'll never get around to writing it. I don't even have a plot for it.

David in Petals was based off of me. A lot of him, anyway. I don't have borderline like he does, but a lot of it was personal feeling when I was depressed.

The twins' (Bill's) room in Bilateral was based off of the layout of mine. Actually, the entire house is, but I don't talk about the entire house.

I do that a lot. A lot of characters represent the same part of me, depending on the fic. It's cathartic to write in that way, I love it.

I write a lot of self-inserts, so that's obviously me.

Jana Greene from my Office fanfic does a lot of the same things as me, but she's more of a combination of two of my friends.

I haven't written myself into a story since probably about four or five years ago. With my first two fan-fics, the lead characters were very much like me. Since then I've tried to stray away from that and move onto creating characters based on other people or someone who is the exact opposite of myself. It's good practice to develop characters so unlike myself. Otherwise, they come out as extremely flat characters or massive cliches.

I just can't do the self-insertion fics. I don't really enjoy writing myself into a story at all anymore.

Okay, now I have a plot for the character 'Letty' I'm just a bit weird about using my own nickname, but I don't really assume it with me yet as it's a new nickname.

I think that all of the leading ladies in my stories have a little piece of me in them. I mostly make characters that are shy, sweet, a little quiet, and kind of sassy.

In Suicide Sonnets, a lot of Ophelia's cynicism comes from me, I admit. She's really sort of a (more) melodramatic version of me; the whole story is a bit of a (what I hope to be) humorous spin on a subject I've thought a lot about...

A theme in my stories seems to anger, sometimes senseless, destructive rage. Violent emotions. I don't know what that necessarily says about me, but it's not necessarily true of my actions. Perhaps just my head, then.

Most of the characters in Long Distance have something in common with me, even though none of it was really intentional in the first place.
Like Aled's quite shy, Shay's very sarcastic and lacks cooking skills, while Alex is loud and says what he thinks and Marina's very individual.
They've all got bits and pieces of my personality, but they're nothing like me apart from those little fragments.

I realized (after re-reading) Natalie, in my story Life Given, is pretty much me only slightly better at drumming than I am. And she can see dead people, but who can't right?
Kind of freaked me out to realize that I wrote myself in. I kind of like it but really don't want to do it again for fear of becomming cliche.

My characters usually have at least one quality of mine, whether it be something simple like a tendency to get nervous or something bigger like being a pothead. This doesn't mean my characters are based on me because these are common qualities that can be found anywhere. I've never given one of my more personal habits to my characters.
I've just started giving my characters qualities that are the opposite of mine. In my story Identical to the Eye, Lucy has a fear of flying, whereas I actually love flying. In Love

I often give my original characters little bits and pieces of me, maybe a certain trait or similar tastes in music, even as far as some of the little things that I do in my day-to-day life. I feel like it makes them more real to me. I mean, most of my original characters are just a combination of bits and pieces that I've picked up from myself and people in my life, so it makes sense that they would have a lot of me in there.

Of course, my SIs are completely me, best and worst XD

I think in all of my stories there is a little bit of me.
It seems to be more of I take little bits of everyone I've ever known and put them into a character. :)
I agree with this. Or at least I notice that in my writing. Most of my characters mirror a part of me--how I act, how I dress, what I say, odd habits, my appearance, etc. I don't believe it's necessarily bad to base a story off life experiences or yourself (I've heard some people criticize this writing habit). I think Hemingway even said in an interview: "Write about what you know." I think it makes perfect sense to write about yourself and your own life.

In Pretty Girls, Tess shares my insecurities about my looks, Sara is Australian and very chill like me, and Piper likes to piss off her parents, like me. I'd call them minor characteristics, nothing too big though.

Lately my stories haven't reflected me in the least. More so what I wish I could be. Highly sought after by men, sex symbols of some sort. Their almost physical perfection with the backbone and spirit of fighters. Its probably because Ive read one too many romance novels. They are thwarting exact. opposite of me; where Im social awkward and shy they are social butterflies and outgoing.
