Madness Is Not a State of Mind...

...Let's go there, shall we?

Inspired by the strange and wonderful minds of Lewis Caroll and Tim Burton, Wispy launched her "Madness Is Not a State of Mind..." writing contest. The task is simple; using Alice's Adventures in Wonderland as a guide, create your own unique little world, complete with an interesting plot and out of this world characters.

Though inspired by and loosely based off Alice's world, originality is key to winning this contest, so don't be afraid to make the story your own.

The Anything Goes Superhero Contest

This is a superhero/supervillain contest. Your objective, if you should choose to accept, is to write a story about either one.

2012 has definitely been the year of the superhero. With the release of highly anticipated films like The Avengers,Dark Knight Rises, and The Amazing Spider-Man, and the expected 2013 release of Thor, Iron Man, and G.I. Joe sequels and two new X-men related films, it doesn't seem like the trend will be dying down any time soon. And it seems like Mibba's a starship ranger has been just as swept away as millions of comic book buffs were this past summer.

In her "The Anything Goes Superhero Contest," she asks Mibbians to write a piece of fiction revolving around or including any superhero or villain, original or fan fiction, action or romance.

Layout Writing Contest

What's probably this week's most unique contest is Nightmare Industries' story layout-based writing contest. Though a lot of writing contest hosts ask users to create special custom layouts to go with their submissions, the Layout Writing Contest provides users with the layout and all you have to do is create a story to go with it.
