Caleb doesn’t acknowledge anyone but Kyle, and Alex decides that it will have to be addressed after school in the car – he refuses to endure another silent car ride like this morning.

Okay I have to tell you what my bets friend said when I was telling him about your last chapter;
Me: Yeah now Caleb won't even talk to his friends and he's being all pissy and male PMS-ish.
Kai: Pffft! Trust me, once Kyle fucks him senseless he'll talk to his friends again!
Me: *Dies from laughter*
I had to tell you!

“I have to get some books for a project. No big deal,”

LIAR!

Surrounding him are three textbooks and right in front of him is his notebook. As Alex gets closer, he notices all of the tiny eraser shavings covering the table.

Wow.
He DOES study hard.

Zack jumps in surprise at his voice and his elbow hits one the books, causing it to fall off the table and hit the floor with a loud ‘thud’ that is more than obvious in the silent library. The librarian gives the boys a stern look, while Zack glares up at Alex.

I'd laugh.

Alex moves the pencil across the page as he speaks, pointing out each number as he goes along. He teaches Zack step by step, and he makes sure he doesn’t go too fast – he knows that Zack can easily mix up a number and be lost.

AWE!

So sweet!

Without thinking, Alex blurts out, “I’m not gay.”

DENIAL!
LIAR!
LIAR IN DENIAL!

Zack’s face turns pink and he looks down at the table. “That’s not even what I meant,” He clarifies.

You hurt his feelings you dick head!

Alex feels like a douche bag.

Zack looks down at his textbook and absently folds the corner of his notebook page. Alex watches his movements –the way he bites his bottom lip and the way his thin fingers slip over the smooth pages of the notebook. Alex feels his heart do something strange – almost like it skips a beat – but he ignores it.
“I’m not sure,” He finally admits. “I just do.”

Awe!
The chemistry is already amung them... DUN DUN DUHHHH!

The four other boys share glances – they’ve all secretly had their suspicions that Caleb was gay – they just never shared them with each other.

Well, then he most likely is!

“What are you talking about?” Caleb mumbles. He bends over and picks up a stick and starts drawing in the dirt with it. He, sadly, reminds Alex of a 5 year old at the moment.

AWE!
That sound so cute.

Joel shrugs. “Well, it’s fine by me.”

“Cool… I mean, the kid’s never played Halo.”

“Are you serious? That’s kind of fucked up.”

“That’s what I said.”

Alex decides that they don’t need to know why he’s dressed nicely today.They don’t need to know that it’s all for Zack.

“Fine,” He decides. “But you seriously owe me!”

Zack looks up at the mentioning of his name, a light blush evident on his cheeks. Alex smiles at him, and Miss Verde narrows her eyes, but says nothing more. She takes Alex’s paper from his desk and then retreats to her own.

For some reason she's creeping me out.

“Jack asked him if he’s gay in first period.”

Oh no!
I can only imagine how awkward Caleb must've felt when Jack asked if he was gay. That's a really personal question that should be discussed in private, rather than in school.

As for Alex, he's really falling for Zack, and it's quite lovely.
Even though he hasn't admitted it to himself, it's obvious that there's something there.

Alex doesn’t buy Zack’s bullshit lie for a second – mainly because Nick had said Zack was at therapy, and also because his dad rolls his eyes as he locks the front door. Alex decides that he’ll call him out on the lie later.

Alex knows that if Jack or Rian or Caleb or Joel were in the room with him, they’d smack him and tell him that his question was completely rude. But Alex doesn’t care much. He just wants to find out a few things about Zack.

I wanted to smack him...
until he said it was for getting ot know Zack.
