I absolutely LOVE this story. Can't wait for more! :)

Holden and Violet are hilarious. I love the little bickering between them.

I quite enjoyed this update. And I didn't realize that the title was "Calm before the Storm" until I finished reading it, then I was like "Hmm, something's gonna happen isn't it?" then I realized what the title is. Then I laughed because we just got the hurricane and for some reason the title of your chapter made so much sense to me (and made me laugh even though there is impending drama).

I'm sorry. I'm really tired (that tired where everything's funny) and this might not have made much sense at all.

I like that you mentioned how much he changes his hair ;) It made me laugh.

and Holden and Violet are quite entertaining. They're like an old married couple.

I'm enjoying this story so so much, Eliza is one of those OC's I just can't help falling in love with; she's so real, the way she justifies her opinions on marriage and the way her relationship is progressing with Jared so naturally makes me feel like I know her personally, you've written her to perfection and she is genuinely original. Before I waffle on anymore, I just want to say well done, this story is definitely going onto my subscription list !

When I got the email that this was updated, I looked at it for a few minutes and thought "What's Life on Mars?" Then I realized it was the flippin awesome MARS story, and I got excited ;)

I just found this story and I do enjoy it. I've only seen one or two mistakes where it's a word that you split into two words but should be one word (i.e. surf board is supposed to be surfboard), or sometimes slang gets a little off (writing 'chic' instead of 'chick') but other than that not a huge deal. However, you did hit one of my big pet peeves. lol In the first chapter you put 'here, here' and I understand that quite a few people make this mistake (I've even seen it published, sadly) but the phrase is 'hear, hear'. I know that seems nitpicky but the phrase is like an old english way of saying, "I hear ya". Another thing I've noticed and I checked and I noticed you do it frequently, but you keep using the tilde in place of the hyphen and I tried to find some information about whether or not that was an acceptable usage for the tilde because I don't claim to be an expert in grammatical rules and regulations, but from what I can tell, in the English language, the tilde is exclusively used in math and for approximation, not literature.

Character wise, I love most of the characters. They're fresh and alive and have wonderful personalities. They're the kind of people I'd love to hang out with. However, Eliza both fascinates me and exasperates me and I'm curious to know if she's supposed to seem like a highly unreliable narrator. Maybe I'm analyzing too much but she doesn't actually seem to truly understand herself. She claims that there's no particular reason that she's adverse to relationships but then she also has a really bad relationship with her parents that she doesn't seem to be really at terms with, or at the very least it still bothers her. She also writes 'sexual' scenes in her books but it took her weeks to kiss Jared and she's supposed to be super conservative and she doesn't want to rush into sex, but she's willing to be a huge tease? She's also claims to be brutally honest, but it seems to be only when it suits her and then when it doesn't suit her, she 'omits' in some instances and in others she just outright lies and claims it's omitting.

Don't get me wrong, I love the way you write as Jared and you do have a wonderful voice as a writer. I also love the rest of the characters and I love some of the banter that stems from these personalities, but I just can't wrap my head around Eliza as she just seems like a huge bundle of contradictions and insecurities masked with a tough mask of 'empowerment'.

Ahh great story!! I like how things are going slow. I wonder how Eli is going to take Jared going to New York after she said not to. I have a feeling she is going to be mad at him for a bit. I bet Pres and Eli are gonna love Constance and Ruby!! I can't wait to read more!!! ^_^

I love everything about this story so far. I love the style in which you write, it just makes the experience so much better, to read work by someone that clearly knows what they're doing :) I just have nothing but praise for this!
