And that doesn't even start to address the hurt and anger that Aurora must be feeling.

I was wondering why Sid had never considered that Aurora may have found another man....maybe part of it was that he had never found someone else - maybe the other part was the whole "Sidney Crosby" thing.

But like I said before, finding Aurora was going to be the least of his problems. He is going to have a lot of animosity coming at him from many fronts - Aurora, their daughter and the man at the door to start. And at some point, he will also have to deal with his parents and quite possibly team mates, and I don't think all of them are going to be happy with this whole situation. All for differing reasons.

But it is time for Sid to "man-up" and face the music on this one. Aurora has had to deal with this very day for the better part of 10 years!

I must say I want to be mad at Sid but I understand where he is coming from. He has daddy issues and although the NHL is the easy scapegoat, I think his issues are motivated by his issues with his 'father.' He is so traumatized by his relationship with daddy dearest he'd rather his daughter never know him and make the leap in logic that she resents the fact he left but still hold out hope that if she ever knew him she'd love him then deal with knowing she hated him. Or basically the daddy issues version of the quote "better to be thought a fool then to speak and leave no doubt" I think his daughter will resent him as it's only human. She's probably had the dream that there was some crazy reason for him not being there and that he'd waltz back in the door after coming home from war or governing that small French speaking principality he was king of. But at nine that time has probably passed and been replaced with resentment that he left to do whatever he damn pleased while they were left to fend for themselves. And I don't expect Sid's bank account to help matters as if he was poor there's the excuse that he couldn't support a family. When your dad is a multimillionaire pro athlete and has been since you were two and you and your mom have been struggling to make ends meet (which I'm assuming they are) you're going to be pissed. In her mind the only way to explain his behavior is that he's an asshole who's love for her is akin to his love for the last crap he took. Plus I bet Aurora hasn't been a chaste virgin who vows Sidney Crosby will be her first and only love. I have a feeling (and maybe hope) she has a boyfriend and one that's been there for more then five minutes at that. Someone that girl seems as a father figure in order to make up for Sid being away. Because what I don't want to see is the kid say "okay dad who has been here for a minute I love you so much I forgive you for never talking to me before." Sid needs to build his daughter's trust that he won't abandon her ( I guarantee there's an abandonment complex somewhere) and also he needs to develop a fatherly relationship with his daughter as if a prior father figure exists stage left he needs to prove he'll be there for her. And the same with Aurora, he cant say hi and suddenly they're in love again. She'll have scars, she'll be guarded, and she'll have a greater need then I feel giddy about this and that is how her daughter will deal with her famous dad suddenly popping up wanting to take her from all she's known. I hope to see a slow, gradual, yet still lovely romance and family bond form. Update soon!

I am dying for their first initial meeting, I cant wait to see what transpires! I love the drama that you are clearly setting up. I'm so eager for updates that it feels like I've been waiting forever for them! But in reality you updated the next day!! (which is awesome) please dont make us wait forever! great job

Booking the flight and getting to Boston will be the easy parts of all this. He is now going to have to find Aurora and then figure out some way to have her not slam the door in his face when he gets there!

But it is nice for Sid to know, that no matter how badly he fucks up - and this IS a huge fuck up - he will always have Taylor in his corner. She can be brutally honest to him and call him on his shit, but she will always have his back.

Cant wait to see how he makes out in Beantown.

Boy, he has a lot of anger issues here....and I think a lot of the issues start with his bad relationship with his own father. I like the relationship you have created with Sid and Taylor - it almost seems that she is the only one he can really trust - the one who can tell it like it is...the one who knows him best.

So if Sid really wants to move forward, it looks like he will first have to go back. And that involves reconnecting with Aurora.
