this is gorgeous, so original and different. your writing shimmers in the mind and stays. i've always been a fan of magical realism; why isn't this on a shelf in a bookstore yet??
the imagery you use is just stunning, and all the little phrases i found cliche at first actually work to your advantage later on.
i've just finished chapter 11, and i'm saving the rest for later; this is intense even for me.
and in reference to the title of the story, the Lady of Shalott is a very beautiful poem.
also i noticed that one of the chapter titles was 'strange, bright place' or something along those lines - was it from the Bright Eyes song Motion Sickness???

I can't go into how beautiful this story is. I love it! XD On Distracted and Distraught, the author's note said that I had to comment. lol so I did! Am. . . whatever.
I love this story! It's sooooo awesome. I really like the style you use, what with the short sentences. The abrupt dreams are amazing, hehe not the content, so much as the word use. ^_^ Thanks for writing this spectacular story; I can't wait to finish it.
