At The Toss Of A Coin

Coin flipping or coin tossing is the practice of throwing a coin in the air to choose between two alternatives, sometimes to resolve a dispute between two parties. It is a form of sortition which inherently has only two possible and equally likely outcomes.

Meet Kate and Rose, two students at UND. Rose is from New Zealand and Kate was born in Germany, but now they both call the town of Grand Forks, North Dakota, home and the members of the Fighting Sioux hockey team their friends. Leading up to February 14th 2007, also known as Valentine’s Day, their lives get turned upside down courtesy of these young men. With friends like that, life is never boring.

By the act of coin tossing it was determined that this story would be about the Fighting Sioux of the University of North Dakota in the 2006/2007 season. Throughout the story, whenever two alternatives popped up, the further story development was decided by tossing a coin as well. In total this story features 23 coin tosses.
