Finley smiled. "Yeah, I suppose you're right." She said quietly, eating another spoonful of her ice cream. "I think it does for most people. Unless you're one of those really popular kids, but then again, in like ten or fifteen years those are the ones who usually end up at home in their parents' basement or something." She felt like there was a balance to everything really, and it was ironic how life worked sometimes. "That's why I don't get cones. They're too messy for me." She let out a quiet laugh, seeing him lick what had dripped onto his knuckles as opposed to a napkin. "You do know that there's something called a napkin...you might want to try using it some time." She teased.
"I'm pretty sure that you know exactly what I'm getting at, love." Josh murmured quietly. He knew that she knew what he was talking about and she was just pretending not to. "I won't need to protect you though, so I guess a reward won't be necessary anyway. Seeing as you aren't afraid of heights and all." He shrugged his shoulders, a slight smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.

Oliver made a little, childish face when she commented about a napkin. But he was a child, really, that was all Oliver was, a kid who was in a band and had a clothing line. "But that's the fun in it. It's all about being taken back to being a child again and being super messy and dripping ice cream everywhere," he said, at least that was the way he saw it. He hastily licked at the melting ice cream, eventually getting it to a place where it wasn't melting as badly. "Are you enjoying yours?"
Piper hummed a little, "Yeah, well, I guess you're right; no reward for you, then," she replied, shrugging her shoulders as well. "Seems more of a your loss than mine." She took a few more steps closer, the line shrinking as the little pods changed people. They were getting so close it was going to be so amazing, she was sure of it. She had loved flying over here, being right there at a window seat, but being on some sort of a giant Ferris Wheel overlooking the city. It was going to be so amazing. "Though, if you would really want a reward I can pretend to be scared of heights, it wouldn't be that hard," she offered with a laugh.

Finley couldn't help laughing when she saw the face Oliver made. It was childish, but she actually found it to be rather cute if she was being completely honest. "If you say so." She shrugged her shoulders, a slight smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Yeah, I am actually. I would ask you the same question, but I think the answer's pretty obvious." Her tone was light and teasing.
Josh's eyebrows rose at her words. "Well, if you're offering, I suppose that I could pretend to be all heroic and protect you." He said, sending a small grin her way. "Then I'd get my reward, and everyone would be happy." He chuckled softly. He didn't know what it was about Piper that made all of this just seem so easy. He hadn't felt this way in a really long time.

Oliver could only grin cheekily to her in response for a few moments, "Good," he said finally, liking that he was able to make her smile like she was. "And yeah, it's brilliant, this shop is the best for ice cream." This girl, she was just, beautiful and had this completely wonderful smile that would make any heart sing and spoke the loveliest of words. He tried not to find things in her that Hannah also had, like how long her hair was or how pretty of a laugh. Instead, he tried to focus on the things that were different between them: dimples, a blonde instead of darker hair, had a much prettier personality. She was completely wonderful in his eyes, and nothing could convince him otherwise.
Piper laughed a little at his words, nodding her head then, "Alright then, deal," she grinned, "no, wait, what do I get out of this deal? I've just got to be the damsel in distress and you get to be the hero and get the reward and everything." It didn't quite seem to fair. He got the reward, even if she would be giving it and would most likely enjoy it just the same, if she thought to give the reward to him straight away, or tease him about it.

Finley let out a quiet laugh, shaking her head, when she saw the cheeky grin on his face. He honestly reminded her of a child at the present time, not that she saw it as a bad thing; she actually found it to be rather adorable. "I completely agree. Admittedly, this is my first time here." She said honestly after spooning some more mint-chocolatey goodness into her mouth. She was going to have to show Piper this place before she left at the end of the summer. But she didn't want to think about the end of the summer right now. Not when it had only just started. Plus, she was enjoying the present time far too much to actually think about the future.
Josh grinned. "The pure enjoyment of my company, of course." He said, chuckling softly. "Kidding. Though I do believe that this would be rewarding for both of us." He moved up a few more steps. He was pretty sure that they only had maybe two or three more minutes tops to wait. "It's almost our turn. Are you getting nervous yet?" He teased.

Oliver gaped a little, "You've never been here before?" he asked, a little shocked. He had been going to this place since he was a little kid. He knew everyone that worked here, every time someone quit or someone was hired. He absolutely loved it here. "That's... that's insane, how can you go through life never going to this place? It's like heaven," he said then, still a little shocked. How was that even possible? It seemed so impossible because he had always been here, it was such a normal place to him.
"You know when you're waiting in line for a rollercoaster at a theme park or something and your heart's pounding in your chest, excited and then you finally get to the front and you get all strapped in and you think 'well, there's no turning back now' and you're totally regretting all your life decisions up to that point until it's all over and everything's okay and you want to go back on the ride again? Yeah, that's totally how I'm feeling right now," Piper answered him honestly.

"I had a very sheltered childhood." Finley joked. In actuality, she hadn't had much of a childhood at all. When her dad up and left her mum, she had to take on so many responsibilites that kids her age normally wouldn't have to. Hell, she was still taking care of her brother what with her mum working all the time. She didn't blame her mum though. She was only doing what she had to in order to support the family. "This ice cream is pretty amazing though. I'm not gonna lie." She smiled.
Josh nodded. "Yeah, I know the feeling." He said, knowing exactly what she meant. "You're going to love this though. I'm sure of it." And he really was. The view was just absolutely amazing. You could see pretty much every part of the city from up there. It was absolutely breathtaking. Of course, that was why so many tourists came here, but that was besides the point. He knew that she was going to like it.

"Obviously," Oliver laughed before taking the few final licks of his ice cream that he could reach before going to take a bite from the cone. "I told you it was amazing, did you doubt me?" he asked then after he had finished his bite, pretending to be hurt, a little shocked before ending up laughing out, unable to keep such a fake shocked face on him for too long. He was glad to have shown her someplace new, something he thought was amazing - he was glad to for her to think it was pretty rad as well. He couldn't think of the last time there was something normal going on with him. It was always running around being famous and running the store, never normal. This felt amazing.
Finally, they were at the front, and a pod was there waiting for them. Piper hopped up inside of it and immediately went to the far side, right against the little railing that separated her body from the glass. "Thank you, by the way, for being so nice and all to me. You're entirely lovely," she said, looking to him. He really was being so lovely, and she was so thankful for that.

Finley let out a quiet laugh, a small smile gracing her lips. She was really having a great time with Oliver. She was glad that she'd suggested to Piper that they go get coffee that morning because, well, who was to say that she'd end up seeing him if they hadn't? London was a big city, and although she kind of believed in fate, she wasn't sure that she would have ever happened to be at the same place at the exact same time as him if they hadn't gone to the coffee shop. "Completely." She teased.
Josh shook his head, dismissing her words as he followed her into the pod. "You don't need to thank me, Piper." He assured her. He'd wanted to show her around, and he'd wanted to spend time with her. And in all honesty, he was having an amazing time. She was equally as amazing, and he hoped that she was enjoying herself as much as he was. He wanted to see her again after this.

"You're awful," Oliver stated then, jokingly, "but you're cute, so it's okay." Had he really just called her cute, like completely normal saying it out loud. But cute? He could have said anything else, Christ, even pretty, but he had chosen cute, like he was seven and had a crush on some girl. Cute. Couldn't he think of anything better than that? Gods. He finished off his cone then, wiping off his hands on his pants before leaning back in his chair, just looking to her for a moment before finally looking away.
"Of course I'm going to, though, a million times over," Piper replied softly, sending him a smile before looking out the glass when they started to move upwards, her excitement skyrocketing. Her hand gripped the railing, eyes wide as she looked out. "This is amazing, we've barely moved, but like, amazing," she said in awe, looking down over the city of what she could, seeing that they were already so high up.

Finley was honestly a bit surprised by his words, her cheeks heating up and turning a light shade of rose. It had just been unexpected really. "You think I'm cute?" She asked quietly. A small smile graced her lips. Of course, she couldn't help wondering if he'd still think that if he knew that she was a college student and not a university student and a good deal younger than him. She wondered if that would change things, though she was sure it would.
"I guess I'll have to keep telling you that you don't have to a million times over then." Josh said, grinning over at her. He chuckled quietly as he watched her closely for a few moments, seeing her eyes widen and excitement ignite in them. She reminded him of a small child on Christmas morning. It was absolutely adorable. "I told you you'd love it."

Oliver could only grin when Finley's cheeks were turning pink, finding it extremely adorable. Everything about this girl was so cute, and amazing. "Of course I do, Finley, you're the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life," he said. Not once, being around her, had he really thought about Hannah, moped over Hannah. Finley made him completely forget about the girl who had broken his heart. The feeling of not thinking about her was amazing, like he didn't have to worry about being sad, or really wonder if the reason why he was always on tour and hardly ever home was the real reason she broke up with him or not. Really, she had packed her things from his place and left him a note saying that she couldn't do this anymore. Would Finley do the same, if they ever would get together, would she just pack up and leave when he hadn't been home for a few months straight.
Piper could hardly think up any form of a reply, too much in awe of the whole thing. It felt like her birthday, or Christmas, but so much more fun. There was no fun in getting exactly what you wanted; the fun was in the experiences, not the prizes before or after it. "This is brilliant," she said, all bright eyes and smiles, this was really amazing. Even moreso with Josh beside her, showing it all to her.

Finley couldn't help smiling. She didn't know why his words had been so shocking to her. They were nonetheless, and she couldn't quite figure out exactly what made it all so surprising. "Oh, um thank you." She whispered, still honestly a bit surprised. And she knew that her cheeks were probably still flushed as well, though there wasn't really much that she could do about them.
Josh smiled as he watched her. She really did just look absolutely adorable. In fact, she was probably the cutest person he had ever laid his eyes on. She was just so in awe by the view, and that combined with her looks and her petite frame, well, he couldn't help thinking about how lucky he was to be spending time with her. "I'm glad you think so." He said honestly.

Oliver couldn't keep his stupid grin from his face, unable to do anything other than that just because of how surprised she seemed that he had called her cute, and really he didn't even think it was that good of a compliment. He could have called her beautiful, or completely amazing, and yet, he had said cute. "Not a problem at all, love, it's all true," he said. Oliver was just so happy that he had gotten her to blush and be all flustered at that, just a little compliment, as if she had never really had such words spoken to her. "I really do think you're cute, gonna look even better in jumper you got from m'store," he grinned even more then, cheekily.
Piper looked to Josh, the biggest smile on her lips before looking back out the glass. The higher they went, the smaller the people looked, smaller the cars looked, smaller everything looked, like little ants, but they weren't. "This is just... just amazing," she breathed, not even scared with how high they were up in the sky, looking over the entire city. It had made her forget to pretend to be frightened so Josh play the hero, but she doubted it really mattered anyway. "I think I can see where Fin lives," she said, thinking some little building, at the corner of an intersection be the building she was staying at for the whole summer.

[I literally want everything from Drop Dead's winter line...this is a problem...]

A small, shy smile tugged at the corners of Finley's lips. She didn't know how to explain her surprise in response to Oliver's compliment. She just wasn't used to receiving compliments like that from guys, let alone guys who were obviously a number of years older than she was. Granted, most of the time said guys found out she was a great deal younger than they thought. She wondered how old Oliver was. She guessed mid to late twenties. She also wondered what he would do if and when he found out that she was only seventeen. She would be eighteen in February, but that was seven months away. She was taken from her own thoughts when Oliver spoke, and she let out a quiet laugh in response to his words. "You think so, huh?"
Josh couldn't help but let the smile on his face widen the more he watched her. This girl just didn't seem to cease to amaze him. The more time he spent with her, the more amazing she became in his eyes. He stepped closer to her, wanting to get a better look himself. He had been on the London Eye a couple of times before, back when the band was first starting out and they had come to London for the first time, and the view looked just as amazing now as it had back then. "How long have you two been friends?" He asked curiously.

[ same. everything is just so amazing. ]

Oliver nodded his head to her question, "I do, very much so actually. I probably would've said beautiful, but I guess cute came to mind first," he said, shrugging a little. He really liked this girl, who didn't seem too much younger than her, a university student, so she had to be early twenties and he, well, he was twenty seven. So it wasn't that bad, and she was still there talking to him, wasn't scared off by his tattoos and just overall appearance that usually only attracted people who were covered in tattoos like him. He would definitely want to see her again after today if she would want to see him.
"I met her when I was about thirteen and on the internet, so when I went to my parents telling them I had met a girl my age all the way over in London, well, they freaked out and probably still thinks Finley's some psycho-kidnapper slash rapist. Fin's been there for me with everything, I love the girl to death," she said with a smile. There had been a time that Piper had just stopped talking to Finley for a while, but then that was a bad time for her, but she tried not to think about that anymore, it scared her thinking about it.

[If only it wasn't all so expensive...and I wasn't only living off a waitress' salary and wasn't a college student with a buttload of student loans...]

And again, the blush appeared on Finley's cheeks. "Thanks." She said quietly, the smile still remaining on her face the entire time. She really liked Oliver. She wasn't someone who judged a person solely on their appearance. She was the type of person who got to know someone before she even slightly began to form some sort of judgement, and from what she could tell, Oliver was just a really great guy. He was sweet, and a gentleman and she really just liked being around him. It kind of really sucked because she knew that he wouldn't be calling her cute or beautiful if he knew that she was only seventeen. She was sure of that.
Josh was pretty surprised when Piper told him that she'd met Finley in the internet. Though, in this day and age, that wasn't very uncommon. Just about everything was done on the internet now, and with so many different social networking sites out there now, he was sure that a lot of people met other people online and became friends with them. "You met her online? That's actually pretty awesome." He told her honestly. "You two seem really close."

    [ exactly! ]

"So, whatcha feel like doing now?" Oliver asked, unable to think of something he would want to do since they had went all the way to his store to fix a problem and then went for ice cream, always a good decision. But now he could think of anything else to do now besides just sit and talk and get to know her and she him. He could deal with that, getting to know her, everything that she would say about herself, everything that she would tell him. He really did want to know this magnificent girl that he had met by chance.
"Yeah, some stupid website that we thought was the coolest thing ever at that age. Now I'm pretty glad I didn't meet some psycho kidnapper slash rapist," she laughed a little, not taking her eyes off the building that she was now positive was where Finley lived. It seemed like the building anyway. "She's the sister I never had."

[And the shipping is probably insane too...so, Katie most likely is not getting any of the new Drop Dead stuff..Sad]

Finley shrugged her shoulders. "I'm up for anything, honestly." She said. She really didn't care what they did. She'd already had a great time, and she hadn't had a problem with going down to his store with him or anything. And the ice cream was delicious. Really, today had just been amazing. However, she probably wouldn't mind getting to know him a bit better. She knew some things like he had a successful clothing line, and he had a friend named Josh and a brother named Tom, but other than that, she didn't know much about him at all.
Josh chuckled softly. "I think everyone goes through some sort of a weird phase when they're younger, and then they realize a few years later that whatever they were obsessed with at the time wasn't really that amazing at all." He said. "You did luck out though. That stupid website you went on helped you to meet your best friend." He pointed out. He really did think that was awesome.

[ yeah. i buy overseas all the time, but it's always on ebay and it has to be free shipping or less than five bucks or i'm not buying it. ha ]

Oliver hummed to himself lightly, thinking about what they could do. "Hm, well, how about we just walk around and play twenty questions or something and just walk around, yeah?" he suggested, thinking that it would be okay, and it wasn't like it was cold outside, so they could be walk around and it would be completely fine. If they would get tired of walking they could just sit down on a bench or something and everything would be alright. He just didn't want her to leave quite yet, wanted to keep just talking to her.
"I'm forever thankful that I made that stupid profile on that site," Piper said with a little nod. She couldn't really imagine her life without Finley now, they were just so close and she made everything wonderful. Too soon they were back down at the bottom of the ride, and Piper stepped off the little pod, back down on the solid ground. "That was amazing, thank you, Josh," she smiled, looking up to him.

[ of course! you pick who you want me to play and you play the other for me? because they're both so lovely. ]
