Hey, since I took an interest to your writing, I thought I’d read one more story of yours. I remember I had read some of this one before but I never gave you a review, so here I am now. C:
In general I want to say that I enjoyed your descriptions and the old elements, though you could have gone a bit more into detail, and your characters were really brought to life. Your brought a new light to the master slave stories by the way you wrote this piece.
Chapters 01-11:
You’ve planned this well, even without the historical accuracy. I am always amazed over writers who write about stories so into the past. It’s something I haven’t been good at and trying to get better with.
I hope the letter she received comes in handy and it’s not some shady job like the one Gwendolyn wanted to go to.
Once she reached his place, the Manor, she had to get a bath and change. That was a nice touch! *high five* By the way, Grace seems like she’s going to be her friend, if she ends up working there. She seems kind and helpful.
Her first meeting with Darius went quite well. Nice development, and the same can be said over the anxious feeling she had in front of the count when she heard about his new mistress. She had banned her sister from doing so, but now that she wasn’t there, her sister might have tried to help their situation with getting the money out of him. Poor girls. :’(
It wasn’t like Darius was helping her. He just used the situation to his advantage. She was so happy to receive a letter from her brother, but its contents made her sad, anxious and angry. How could her sister be such a foolish girl? O.O
Chapter 09 was gold. I can honestly see stars. +_+ You did a pretty good job making Darius think beforehand, and how you explained him being away for that purpose. Elise was finally his, he made her sign the contract. The words he said to her kind of crushed her dignity at the end, making the story even more realistic. It’s like you know, sh*t happens and you can’t always get away with the easiest way. *high five* I loved this chapter, makes me excited for the next one.
Okay, I am trying to hide my blush now. :$ He finally had her where he wanted her, and she had no way out of this. Her first time was his now. Where his words about being cruel when his women wouldn’t listen, real? Is that how it’s going to be with her too? I can’t wait to find out. <3
Chapters 12-22:
I can’t believe her little sister is against going home, I can sort of understand it though. Why live in poverty when she can have everything she ever wanted, even though it’s in this way?
Darius was the kind of man who hated to lose; I understood that from his argument with the count. He knew very well what he got himself into, and how he could make the count listen to him.
Suddenly, Darius turns all kind and helps Elise’s brother and sister? I think not. Just like Elise think, I’m thinking the same thing. He has something up his sleeve. :/
You asked what his motives could be for being so kind to Elise after chapter 15. There are two ideas on my mind for the time being. First one is that he really fell in love with her and he wants to make her his wife. The second one is that making her sell her house at Winchester and sending her brother and sister to boarding expensive schools, make his Manor the only place she can live in. Plus the future of her siblings is in his hands, so he can easily manipulate Elise if his kind act isn’t working much. What the reason could be for that? Because he doesn’t want to admit what he feels, and he just wants to keep her dancing in the palm of his hands.
I can’t believe what took place at chapter 16. How could she accept George’s proposal for marrying him in front of Darius? I would have been scared shitless remembering how Darius was when Elise first came in the Manor, and Darius was sad? Why? Is he really in love? I wonder… c:
I have to agree with Darius’s statement at chapter 17, when he said she thought wrong. He wasn’t kind, he just gave her a bit more freedom than he should and she forgot her place. Her life wasn’t a fairytale, and she was no Cinderella. I can only imagine what he has in store for her. <3 Loved it! As for Grace, I’m anxious. Is she gonna she them on the act? O.O
On the next chapter Darius clearly showed her why he is her master, I’m just wondering what Demelza thinks of it but seeing as the next chapter is about her past as the mistress of Darius’s grandfather, I can see she has a good knowledge of the situation Elise is in. :/
Chapter 20, was different. The count and Darius’s sister were there at the ball to fight back, but why? Elise also saw him in a different light, more cruel than when they went to get her sister back, because now he was punching the count nonstop.
Chapter 21, I just loved it. <3 They made love, he confessed, he protected her. <3 Aw…
So, Lord Haizen? Another man? What does he plan??? Mystery… :D
Chapters 23-33:
Darius was truly a man to fear since he had the power to strip the Count of his title and the count’s Manor in Essex for himself.
Poor Albert? Quarantine? I hope he gets better. :’( At least Darius will do everything in his power to help him because of the love he has for Elise.
Okay, George saw Elise and master kiss, how will he act from now on? I can’t wait for the grand finale. XD
Chapter 26 surprised me with the way Darius acted. I have no idea why Darius is so afraid of his mother. What could she do, since he threw her out of the Manor? And why is Darius trying so hard to keep Elise away from his mother’s eyes? O.o
Can I say that I am just staring at the screen, not understanding how she could tell everything to George? O.O I mean, WTF? I really never saw that coming in chapter 28.
I absolutely enjoyed the small scene of his hand around her waist and the soon-this-will-be-us, as in them getting married. <3
The last two chapters were magnificent. <3 I thought the only one twisted enough to write a scene of a man in love raping another man was me, but I’m glad seeing I’m not the only one. This amazed me by far, though I wasn’t expecting George to kill Darius after raping him. Killing takes more guts. Elize’s reaction was remarkable too when she replied with past tense, ‘’we were betrothed’’. I loved it, I just wished Darius could have stayed with Elise in the end, but your ending surprised the hell out of me. Well done, girl!
