Lukey Kid

A lot of things have happened to me in my lifetime. I could go into painful detail and set things up for pessimism, but that was never how I went about things. Even if junior high had its fair share of trials and tribulations for me and my best friends, we made it out alive, and high school was just around the corner.

Well, okay. Ninth grade had shaped up to be more chaotic than I had anticipated, but to be fair, it wasn’t because of the actual school part.

It was more the fact that I was the bassist for a band who was actually getting a real-life record deal. One of the most well-known figures in the Florida punk scene was signing us to his record label, and when we flew down to Miami to record our first album, the tornado started.

It was an absolute hurricane, our freshman year. Yet in the end, everything just fell into place…eventually.
