Is it right to say "Failure is an event, never a person"?

Yale might not be as smart, or as pretty as every one else. But, she does have have faith. It's about the only thing she has. It lingers from time to time, and at time she feels that it fails, but that's nothing new to her. That's what her life has been from the beginning, failure. She feels like it will never end.

Steven, the perfect student, gets nothing but A's, is the best debater in the schools debate club, is part of the Student Council, and is a star player for the schools track and field team. His life is perfect. What can go wrong?

When the two get put together for a simple task, can Yale turn her life around? Or is this going to be just another messed-up chapter in her life? Or will it be both?
