Mibba’s Contest Revival

Many contests on Mibba are abandoned by their hosts (often without notice) and unfortunately, users' hard work goes unrewarded. However, we’ve come up with a way to combat this – a contest revival!

Here’s How It Works:

• Anyone can message one of our team members with a link to a contest they think is inactive
• Our team then checks it out and confirms its inactivity
• The contest is added to the first post
• Users then apply to be the new host (see Hosting Requirements)
• The new host is contacted and they start a new thread
  OR
  If a contest has 3 or more entries, then the new host can choose to just judge the entries or create a new thread
• Contestants are notified by us of the changes
• The contest link is moved to the 'claimed' section of this post to show it has a new host with a link to the new thread
• The host contacts us when the contest is finished
• We screen the comments given to finalise it
• The contest is crossed off the list

Hosting Requirements:

• To claim a contest, you need to message losing control. or nearly witches. or and state which one (or more) you’d like to apply for and provide them with a link to a successful past contest of yours.
  OR
  Message one of them with a sample 100 word comment on a story of your choosing, if you haven't hosted a contest before.
• When you judge, you’ll need to give each entry a comment with a minimum of 100 words, which show that you’ve actually read the story.
• You must offer a minimum prize of a 200 word comment on a story.

Important Things to Note:

• Our team is currently made up entirely of staff members, and we will be checking all comments given to make sure they are satisfactory.
• If you claim a Contest Revival contest and do not complete it, you will not be allowed to use the feature again.
• If you are running a contest and you are unable to continue it, please send one of our team a message let us know if you would like it revived, or deleted.
  Please keep in mind that we want users to continue with their own contests and this is not a pass to start something knowing you won’t finish it. Users put hard work into their entries and hosts should be reciprocating this in their judging.
