Meet Me at the Telephone

Miranda looked back over towards the windows and saw that she still had one more window to close the curtains. As she was walking over, she noticed a five boys running away from a group of girls. Sensing something was telling her to help them she didn’t hesitate in running towards the door and yanking it open. She rushed out just as the boys got closer. “In here! They wont find you!” She shouted over the roar of the rain.

The boys rushed in and Miranda followed behind, locking the door and yanking down the curtain before rushing over towards the other window and doing the same. She watched it close just as the group of girls passed by. Miranda let out her breath before turning around and seeing five boys, all soaking wet, sprawled out on her floor as they tried to catch their breaths.

As a few seconds passed, one of the boys sat up, “Thank you for helping us out. You don’t know how much this means to us. You practically saved our life just now.”

Miranda didn't know that her small super hero act was going to change her life.
