He pulled my head down to rest on his chest and wrapped his arms around me. He was my safe cocoon. “I love you too,” he whispered in my hair, placing a gentle kiss on my head. My face nestled into him, I sighed contently. He was so amazing, and I couldn’t believe he’d decided to stick with me for so long.

I was still worried about how my family would react. They didn’t exactly know how to behave. But Brendon didn’t seem at all concerned, so I would try to remain calm.

I felt his heart beating wildly in my ear, and wondered if he was more nervous than he let on.
