Kennedy O'Callaghan and Embry Jacobs have been best friends since they were three. Kennedy's older brother, John, was the lead singer in a band called The Maine. The Maine's drummer, Pat Kirch, was Emrby's love interest, while Tim, Pat's brother and The Maine's manager, was Kennedy's. John, being the older brother he was, didn't approve of Kennedy liking Tim because he was his best friend. Embry, on the other hand, didn't have any siblings to give a damn about her "love life." Kennedy was outgoing and didn't have a problem with talking to anyone, while Embry was more shy and quiet. Would John ever get over the fact that his younger sister liked Tim and allow her to get involved with him? Would Embry ever strike up the courage to do something about her liking Pat?
